    Aha! Now I know to do darker colours first before white. Love your tips and tricks. 💞👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    You are amazing! I love watching your videos they are soooo helpful!!! I do have a question, when I make my icing I use egg whites instead of water, is there a difference?

      Thank you!! Do you think your icing down with egg whites? I think that's fine, I've seen that before when I first started. I use meringue powder now instead of egg whites, so I don't want to add more of it, so I just thin it down with water!

    Interesting, I've noticed the opposite: if I do the dark color first, the lighter color will then draw the darker color in even after 24hrs. So, I always go from light to dark. Not foolproof as you say but it has worked most of the time.

      Oh really!! Well I'm glad you have a way that works, I find nothing is 100% and sometimes things work for one person and not for another. But as long as you find a way for it to work then that's all that matters.

    You are such an artist! I so want ro get better at this and you're my go to girl! You've might have addressed this before but what do you do to keep icing firm when it starts to go soft when using it? I know about rotating bags to the fridge and back but do you have any suggestions? Thanks so much for your help!

      Thank you so much! I use royal icing for cookies, so it doesn't go soft, I think you're talking about buttercream and putting it in the fridge so it stays firm? Royal icing is different as it won't go soft and it doesn't need to be in the fridge 😁

      @@LittleCookieCo Excellent! I'm going to have my whole family coming for Xmas. I'm going to do some intricate cookies for display. The rest I'll just smother with icing because they never pause to look anyway! Thanks

    Hi I'm new at this how do you keep the icing from coming out of the bag after you lift the bag from your work my icing keeps coming out I don't know how to stop it. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I love your work.

      The outline icing I use is thicker, so that one doesn't come out of the bag unless I push. For my flood icing, the thinner icing I use to cover the rest of the cookie, I usually have it flipped upside down when I grab the bag until I use it on my cookie. And samw when i finish on the cookie, ill lift it up and flip it upside down or lay it on the table. When I lay the bags on the table, i do it in between damp paper towels. If it's coming out like crazy, it could be your icing is too runny or the hole is too big!

    The squiggles are a thicker icing, same as outline icing?

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  Рік тому

      Correct! I use my thicker icing or as I call it my outline icing for those

    Have you tried adding bright white to the base color? I add it to the base, then make my colors from there. I haven't had any color bleeding yet. (🤞 Let's hope I haven't jinxed myself 🤣😜)

    • @LittleCookieCo
      @LittleCookieCo  2 роки тому

      Yes, I always add white to my icing and almost always don't get it. But on the odd occasion it happens if I use older icing or previously frozen icing

      @@LittleCookieCo thank you for that because I have only used frozen leftover icing once. I guess I got lucky since all of the colors were dark and vibrant for the next color scheme. I will remember that for future batches. You are a great teacher!

    Why the squiggles? To prevent cave ins?
