  • Please enjoy this beautiful exhibit featuring black, white, and neutral ceramics by Judy Adams and John Foelber.
*John Foelber has been working in clay since the mid 1970s. He has explored many aspects of the craft throughout the years. Self taught as a functional potter he gravitates toward the pottery wheel and the vessel form.
Recently he has been investigating the lexicon of symbols, shapes, and patterns on simple cylinder forms. Moving away from the cylinder John is also exploring more sculptural forms with specific references and deeper meaning. This includes “The Earth Stood Still” and “The Tower of Babel” series.
*Judy Adams has been working in clay since the late 1970s. With a BFA degree in ceramics she has explored both the pottery wheel and hand built construction methods, often combining both. For the past few years she is most interested in space; the space a piece occupies and the spaces it does not. Voids, layers, shadows, interesting silhouettes are all part of the equation. The only working artist from a large family of engineers Judy thinks some of that engineering-love rubbed off on her as she pushes the boundaries of balance, assemblage, clay shrinkage, and kiln firing techniques while still focusing on the visual beauty of each piece.
