This is probably the most entertaining form of self-inflicted torture I have ever seen. In fact, it probably was the most entertaining video I’ve seen in a while.
honestly this is REALLY impressive, i struggled to keep my attention on the video (despite how entertaining it is) i could NOT imagine folding that many cranes
Hearing “You have a short attention span” and responding with “Bet” 🎉and going out and getting the first square paper you could find at Walmart, not considering waiting to order square paper, is very strong ADHD energy
When i first heard of the time I was thinking of a Japanese tradition where if one folded 1000 paper crane by themselves within one year they would get a wish😅
There's even a statue of it in Japan! I remember hearing a story about a kid with a bad disease that will kill him at a young age. After hearing that folding 1000 paper cranes will grant you a wish, he started folding as many as he could. He even lived longer than his former live expectancy! But even after folding 1000 paper cranes he sadly passed away. That's why the statue was built.
@@ieatconcrete Yeah, when i was young i first learned about this tradition from the book “Sadoka and the thousand paper crane” who suffered from the aftermath of Hiroshima, she had leukemia and tried to fold 1000 cranes to live, but sadly passed away before reaching 1000, her family and friends folded the rest and buried it with her and made a statue for her as well.
When I was in therapy during COVID, I had to be at home and because I didn’t have any fidgets, I would instead make paper cranes. I made about 800 papers cranes over the span of a few months. This was simply because talking about something important while making eye contact and sitting still is really hard (believe it or not). Btw for those of you who are wondering what I did with them, I usually put them in birthday presents (the number of swans corresponding to their age).
I used to competitively fold cranes against my friends in class (yeah we didn’t get much work done) so I have some tips for anyone who wants to give it a go! Sticky notes don’t get easier to fold with but trying to wear the stickiness out by putting on something and taking it off, or just folding the sticky side inwards to get minimal contact with it so your hands don’t get sticky (this strategy is risky because it becomes harder to fix mistakes so fold sticky-side outwards if you aren’t confident in your folds). Alternatively, there exists cheap post it notes that are the same size as sticky notes but don’t have any stick to them, making them the ideal fold-paper that are sometimes easy to find and that I recommend over any other type of sticky note. Origami paper packs also exist for this same reason and if you’re new to folding cranes the larger paper will be of great help to you. Hand stretches BEFORE you start folding the paper is incredibly important and I recommend learning some basic ones off of yt even if you don’t fold paper, it’s just nice to have *on hand* _badum tish_ yeah I’ll see myself out-
Put them in Richie's mailbox, or even better, in every corner and crevice of his home. Every time he thinks he got rid of all the paper cranes, there will always be at least one left. Richie will know true fear.
I remember there was a book I read about this urban legend in Japan. It is said if you're able to fold 1000 paper cranes, the gods should give you one wish.
As someone who makes a paper crane every time a piece of paper is handed to me, I have never once thought about making 1000 of them, I do not have the patience. It literally takes me 2 minutes to make one, yet I am not dedicated enough to make more than 20, props to you 😔
i see richard's shorts reposted on pinterest and they make me absolutely luagh my ass off. thank you for folding 1000 cranes. put that man in his place.
As someone who also folded 1000 cranes before- You will never forget how to fold a crane. The fact that you do so with sticky notes is crazy. I'm so glad you were smart enough to buy square paper from the start Instead of revenge, I put all of mine on strings and hung them on the ceiling. They would float around from the air conditioning currents and It was like a giant calming baby mobile :)
This reminds me of when I tried counting to a million, by writing it out. I lost my sanity 6 times, but potentially just once too. Subbed. Welcome to warping yourself in madness, sadly there’s no escape. But congratulations for now understanding just how huge the number 1,000 is. Most people will never have an appreciation for it.
Not the folding subconsciously, this is so funny and so silly, any square paper at your grasp and you try and turn it into a freaking crane lord help us

In Highschool I used to fold origami dinosaurs in class while I was board, so I got really good at folding them while multitasking. It has going to the point if I don't entirly focus on what I'm folding, I will accidently make a dinosaur. If my origami does not have 100% of my attention it will turn into a dinosaur lol.
