    TommyKay Reacts to Oversimplified's video on WW2: • GERMAN REACTS TO WW2! ...
    A lot of people were asking for Tommy to watch some Oversimplified videos and finally he decided to give it a go during a 24 hour stream. We're gonna be learning about WW1 which our dear ginger doesn't know that much about actually. Tommy plays a lot of HOI4 so this is the perfect video to find out what happens before that game's setting.
    REMEMBER! This is all educational and for entertainment! We will moderate comments, so behave yourself and keep it educational.

    This was during a 24 hour stream so Tommy was preserving his energy, just wanted to share this video with you all cause it's a topic that we all like on the channel.
    Do you guys wanna see more reactions to videos like Oversimplified and other stuff?
    Gonna upload the WW2 one too and then depending on how much you guys like these, might upload more!
    Thanks for watching boys and see you in 3 days

    Tommy, Ottoman Empire joined the war in a much more interesting way. 2 german battleships (or battlecruisers whatever) were running from British navy, and sought refuge at Ottoman Empire. Ottoman's declared that they had bought the ships from Germany, and those 2 ships with their German crews attacked Russia, not "some politicians". Some politicians may have encouraged them to do so, because there were some people desiring to join on Germany's side, but we don't know what really happened.

    10:49 This is an extremely sad part of Serbian history. It’s called “The Great Retreat” or the “Albanian Golgotha”. Every Serbian boy - every man - child over 12 years of age, had to retreat. In the Albanian mountains, during the roughest winters, Serbia lost almost all of its male population. Around 150.000 soldiers from the Royal Serbian Army died or went missing in the cold. In addition to that, over 160.000 civilians lost their lives, while marching with not only their army but their king as well.
    With little to no options, two thirds of the entire Serbian population had left their homes and families after a long and bloody fight against the big foreign occupiers on Serbian soil, while defending their homeland. The plans for the retreat varied and different routes seperated the exhausted Serbian people while they were being slaughtered along the way by enemy forces, died of diseases, famine and fighting the Albanians along the way towards the Adriatic sea. A total of 150.000 was approximately all there was left of almost all of Serbia on the Albanian coast. Both soldiers and civilians. As this number continued to decrease, the French eventually came with transport ships to transfer the survivors to the only country that would accept the responsibility of taking care of the remaining Serbs. Greece.
    On the island of Corfu, the Serbs were warmly recieved by the much smaller Greek population. On Corfu, many stories were remembered. Of how greatly the Serbs respected their Greek brothers despite being in such a weak and fatal state. Not a single olive was stolen by the people dying of hunger. Stories of how the Greek helped an entire nation heal and restore it’s strenght to finally be able to break the Salonica front in 1918, which lead to the liberation of Serbia in WW1. That is partly an answer to why Serbia and Greece have such a strong relationship till’ this day.
    This is a story that many Europeans are unfamiliar with. Almost all. And it is heartbreaking to visit the monuments and read about it in detail. What the slavs in general have lost throughout history fighting for their motherlands, cannot be compared to any other countries in Europe! The killing of Prince Ferdinand in Sarajevo was not an act of terror. It was a spark in the fight for justice. The Serbs are a very proud people. And that pride comes from the pain of their past. From the blood spilled by it’s people, fighting for what was right. From stories such as The Great Retreat. A little Serbia fought back with all they had against the Ottomans, Bulgaria, Austria-Hungary and Germany defending their identity. The same happened in WW2 with Yugoslavia.
    This Serbian mentality of resistance when it comes to war, is why many western countries are seeing Serbia as a great pain in the ass till’ this day.

    • @dkz1302
      @dkz1302 3 роки тому +6

      @Lidor Dimov Montenegro, despite it’s size, fought a very tough war against Austria-Hungary while letting the Serbs - who chose that route - pass safely through Montenegro. They were great allies and fearless fighters in that war.

    what is ironic though, is that franz ferdinand was one of the most merciful people in austro-hungarian goverment, he had plans for major autonomy to the region which would certainly calm down the people in bosnia and other regions.
