The most important thing I've ever learned from playing is that playing more games makes you better at the game. Practice is everything. Testing is key. Do test hands. Stage interruptions and see how you can play through it hypothetically. Do it again and see if you could do better. And.... everything Pak said too lol very solid advice.
@@nikolakostov9417 playing games/matches with friends casually or at locals is a good start. Or by yourself you can shuffle your deck, draw 5, and just play it out and see what you can do. What can your deck set up consistently. If you're not satisfied with it it's time to rethink what cards you're playing. You have to have read all your cards and have a general idea of the rules and what not first though. Then repeat the same process but this time pretend as if your nonexistent opponent Ashes your first effect, or imperms your normal etc. See what you can do after that slows you down. Run through scenarios like that for as much time as you can. It makes you a lot better at playing with what you have. I hope that makes sense.
Very interesting theory, but I'd like to ask you a more direct question: what do you side out vs those decks? I mean, I saw your profiles so I know what you side in but, as an Unchained who can't afford Thrust, I'd like to know how to fix well my list after G1. Especially because I never draw my bb/hts to the point I think I play "too much" engine...
The only thing I do not like about the format being so diverse is it's so hard to prepare a side. You either prepare for meta and get blown out by rogue or vice versa.
This is a lot of good information, but I feel like it only really applies for YCS’s where there’s a bit of a period that people can actually test the format. I’m very curious how this process will change for YCS Indy where there is going to be a new set released that week.
This info applies everywhere, not just YCS'. If you go to YCS, expect people to play meta, and build accordingly. If you go to regionals or OTS, expect more rogue decks and build accordingly. If the meta is set and not like it is now, it's even easier to build accordingly, because you know the meta decks etc.
One of the most important factors for play testing…SIDEBOARD…most players play 2/3’s of their games SB’d in most events…but I typically don’t see ppl practicing game 2/3 scenario’s as much.

Yo! it's so cool that we could see so many decks now. Makes me wanna play that much more on the casual and competitive level if I'm not gonna see the same deck over and over again. Hard to believe about a year ago we were going into Tear format. I feel like Konami is finally starting to push diversity over tier 0 formats. Hopefully this trend continues and we see the list grow. I've never used Scope before, that'll be a useful tool. Assigning values like that is brilliant. Thanks for sharing the guu my guy, man of the people.
What does it matter? If you ash Eglen, then even if they turn-skip you with Feather Storm, they'll have no follow-up. Just leave both birds on the field so they don't recover them from banish.
@@sanketower noted thx. i've literally never even gotten a chance to ash floo tbh cuz every single time theyve had protector to chain block so ive kinda just been letting them play and just interacting on my turn and its been working out p well but thx for the tip
