Brett..... complimenti! Immagini spettacolari. A me il piccolo Nano+ fa impazzire. Devo imparare ad utilizzare le LUT. Escono video impressionanti. BELLISSIME!
Buon volo :)
Thanks so much. I do agree they are both awesome and it is amazing how much they pack into a tiny drone. They both flew the same to me and if you blind folded me it would be hard to tell which was which (other than the controller is different) There was no wind when I did this video so I can't comment on the difference in wind and I will test wind resistance soon.
Hi Gizmo Drones !A lovely video with some amazing drone shots. Beautifully made video bouquet! Beautiful town. Beautiful landscape! Good music choice!Congratulations!Huge like(106)!
Hi, surely the NANO + offers superior quality images, only in some single occasions they come close, but in general there is no comparison. The Mini3 is superior in other respects but certainly not on the camera !! Good comparison, very good job!!!
I also think the Nano+ is clearer and also better in low light but I did notice that at certain lighting they are very similar. I think the Nano's LOG is good but HDR is better in low light. From what I have read the Mini 3 Pro has HDR on at all times at 30fps which is I what I used.
Excellent comparison between two great ones, but it is seen that in Nano+ it has a little better image quality, Thanks for sharing this excellent work, Greetings from Michigan my friend....
Thanks so much, I do agree that the Nano+ looks better overall. I was hoping the DJI 10 bit would give it the edge but I haven't noticed a huge improvement over the Nano+
hmm, i have nano plus and now hovering over buy button for mini 3 pro with remote, but decided to watch more videos, i dont want to downgrade, i like the idea of smart remote and 4K/60 But since i sleep all day and wake up at 19:00, the only time i have to film is during the night so low light capability is the #1 important to me. I seen otehr videos in the city and it looks comparable so i dont know Is the MINI 3 comparable to NANO plus for night video or now? I mean on peoples videos it looks the same to me
I have the same situation as you. I mostly fly at sunrise and sunset so low light capability is my #1 requirement. The Nano+ has better low light capability however the Mini 3 is still very good at low light. If you can afford it get both. If you also need 60fps then the Mini 3 is it. The new RC with display is great although the screen is very close to the sticks and my left thumb kept touching the menu icon and it kept leaving the flight view and going to the main screen which was worrying when I was flying. I tend to pinch the sticks when I need controlled flying and I don't think DJI considered this when designing this new remote. Good luck with choosing what to do :)
@@GizmoDrones Hey a question, what happens to Nano Plus when it loses signal from controller, does it automatically return to home? I was flying some days ago and After i pressed return to home it lost signal [I got worried OMG] so it returned, but what will happen if it just loses signal? P.S. Im not a professional user, i dont make money out of this, so i cant afford both, even the one i have i have used it 3 times so far for fun flying above rooftops,I want one drone to last me long time and because DJI has the screen and 4K/60 and 10Bit it looks like complete package, what more do you need? I hope that Autel adds 4K/60 to nano plus becuase its same camera as on the higher modes, i mean they know MINI 3 exists so they have to do something to compete, of course they can be assholes and just release updated plus version 2 with all these features. Before nano came out the aliexpress official shop guy told me that they plan to release new controller with display, but so far no news about that
At first glimpse the Nano + footage looks more pleasing to the eye, but that's due to the oversharpenening and higher contrasts. I have the impression that the Mini 3 footage has more potential especially for post processing. For sure both are awesome drones.
Thanks os much. I was hoping the Mini 3 Pro would look so much better since it has 10 bit although I am not 100% convinced as the shot of sun didn't look amazing to me (still looks like 8 bit). Perhaps DJI will fix that with a new update.
@@GizmoDrones I am really eager to know which drone will come out as the winner after a couple of months, because one of these two will be my next upgrade to the Mini 2.
It's not sharpness, its image detail with the Nano+. If I heavily crop in to say only 10% or even less of original Nano+ video file, there is no halo effect or noise whatsoever, that you associate with over sharpening. However the image is very detailed. This indicates the Autel has a high quality lense, compared to the DJI drone.
@@ozstrayapanoramas8610 Why shouldn't I? Coming from a Fimi X8 I am not a fanboy of DJI at all, I only want to know which one provides better video quality. And I am still not sure which one will provide better results overall. But we all know that the Nano + is a fantastic drone, especially in the hands Gizmo drones.😉👍
Wonderful comparison video!! I think mini 3 has more cinematic smooth look but Autel nano has hight contrast and sharpness which is equaly good. I am impressed that mini 3 low quality is better compared to it's predecessors but nothing significant if I think of it's new camera sensor. Well, I think both Mini 3 and Nano have appeared great but DJI marketing is far better so that mini 3 surely become popular...
Great video comparison. For me, Autel is absolute winner. Definition of Autels video is superior and postproc can add some blur&noise if needed, you cant do it other way arround
The dji f 1,7 cover is in low light better then the nano. The contrast is better on the nano. But…did you record with the dji in cine mode, because only there is 10bit? If so, of course, it also depends heavily on the processing. 😉
Yes I recorded the DJI in Cinelike H265 and the file says it is 10 bit. I used Davinci Resolve and it also said the video is 10 bit. I am quite used to 10 bit H265 video however it didn't feel like 10 bit to me as I wasn't able to recover the DJI over exposure. DJI should fix this issue or explain it. The Nano+ has f1.9 however it uses RYYB rather RGB and this seems to improve its low capabilities well beyond its F1.9 suggests. Other than different LUTs I used the same editing settings for both drones. Cheers
@@anthonyblend9917 I take your point but I wanted it to be a balanced video plus the settings I used were suitable for both videos. As mentioned I didn't colour grade it, I just fixed the levels slightly. Of course a more vibrant LUT or correction of the actual colours and white balance could have been done but I wanted to show the auto settings from the drones.
Yes, both drones are definitely great. It is almost impossible for me to say which is better. Each drone gives better results in some situations than others. It would be ideal to use both drones for shooting, so choose the best of both.
I just order the mini 3 pro and I have the autel the nano+ they both have their benifits. some times the autel is to sharp for lines to close together you will get moraying but the details are in the blacks its better at night perhaps or depending on situation
Thanks so much for your comment. To be honest I prefer the Nano image but I am hoping DJI will improve the 10 bit dynamic range in a future software update. Cheers
Great comparison!!! From 1:44 It seems to me that Nano+ footage has more noise in the Shadow compared To the mini 3 pro (which Is less aggressive and more soft). You agree with me ? I think both look Amazing. I don't understand this fan Boys war. I love more dji looks in my opinion It has Also less artifacts on the image. The definition of these sensor Is the same. Air 2s Is Better because of 1 inch sensor. This are a step behind. AUTEL tends to oversharpen but Is ok too. In post you can create super videos of your liking with both drones.
Thanks so much. I agree the Mini 3 Pro did better in those shots although the Nano did better in other shots. I think both of these drones have fantastic out-of-box footage but if you like tinkering with the camera or the footage to fix things like shadows and over exposure then drones with a 1" 10 bit sensor like the Air 2S are better. I found the Mini 3 Pro 10 bit footage feels like 8 bit dynamic range. I wasn't able to recover shadows or fix over exposure as you can do with a drones like the Air 2S, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 3 or Evo 2 Pro. Cheers
@@GizmoDrones Yes, but 10 bit did not allow you to recover Shadow or overexposure. Log does that. With d-cinelike you Need to expose the scene correctly when you shoot. 10 bit gives you more colours and no banding issues. There are a lot of videos that explaine that. I am no Expert at all. I hope dji introduces with time log 10 bit but i think they would not di It because of dji Air2s. A am waiting my mini 3 pro to upgrade from the original Mavic mini. Thanks to your video i won't be dissappointed.
@@alessioaxelflorioadventure Thanks for explaining and I am aware of this. DJI dont have a LOG option with the Mini 3 Pro so Cinelike is the next best option. I have read in the DJI forums that the Mini 3 Pro has reduced dynamic range which explains the crushed shadows and over exposed sun. Still it is a great drone.
@@GizmoDrones Yes, but i think the difference in dynamic range between the two is minimal. Sometimes an image with crashed shadows is prefereble. Again i think there is no one better than the other. It's personal preference and also how you use pro mode settings. In auto of course there is more difference. Bye and sorry for the late answer but youtube never notify the answers to me.
I agree they are both amazing drones for their weight. I don’t think you would see much difference with the naked eye of raw footage as most of us see somewhere in the range between 8bit and 10bit anyway, the place you may see something is in the branches of trees in shadows, I believe the only difference would be in post when you have more data to adjust and 10bit VS 8bit is a huge difference in range and while we can’t physically see it before adjustments the software (when adjusting) will and that would make the difference in detail that we will then be able to see. I have some “way after sunset” footage that is simply amazing, it’s a pity we can’t without approval legally fly after sundown.
Yes I agree with you. I wasn't able to recover the Mini 3 over exposure (see sun shot) so I dont think the Mini 3 Pro 10 bit has a greater dynamic range, just more colours. Other 10 bit drones usually have a greater dynamic range. Cheers
Thanks so much for your comment. I did consider using the fog function as there was some fog over the city (cold Autumn night). Sorry, I will try it another time.
You went and purchased a Mini3! Nice. I thought you were more of an Autel fan. You got to admit, the Mini3 is a fantastic little drone. Great side by side comparison.
Yes I've ordered one however I borrowed my friends Mini 3 Pro for this test. I like Autel drones although I've had many DJI drones. I just sold my DJI Mavic Mini and Mini 2 but I still have a DJI FPV plus quite a few FPV drones. I am hoping the Mini 3 Pro will be good but it looks like the Nano+ has the edge. Hopefully DJI will improve the camera software. I will still use the Mini 3 Pro as I think it will be good to have in addition to my Autel drones. I will probably get the Autel Lite when it is released next month (different to the Lite+). It should have the same RYYB camera as the Nano+ but with extra things. This camera is outstanding.
@@GizmoDrones thing is not sure they can improve the camera thru firmware. Most of the dji fan boys say they love the "smooth" look, to me its just blurry lol. But i think if dji tries to match autel, eith firmware updates, the only thing theyll do is actually oversharpen the image and make it look horrible. For me autel just has the better hardware producing a crisp clear beautiful image, just wish it also had all the cool stuff if dji like built in screen, tracking that exists and works pretty good, asteroid is really cool, mastershots and so on lol
Great video👍👏Liked! I already had the Nano+ for a while and since this week also the Mini 3 Pro. The Nano+ has a great camera for sure and the HDR mode is awesome! But the D-Cinelike from the Mini 3 Pro with a good Lut produces very realistic colors and awesome footage too😀I'm testing my Mini 3 pro further this week and will upload a video later with flightfootage and my final conclusions. Greetings from a subscriber 🇳🇱
To my eyes the nano + footage looks oversharpened with more contrast. Most people like it more due to this point, but I think the Mini 3 footage may have more potential than shown here.
Thanks so much. I think the DJI Mini 3 Pro does have a flatter colour profile and I am hoping the 10 bit will allow more options when editing. I dont think the Mini 3 Pro dynamic range takes advantage of the 10 bit as the sun shot didn't look great to me. I hope DJI improves the camera software so that we squeeze the most out of it. They are probably worried about hurting DJI Mavic 3 sales. I look forward to your comparison video, cheers
@@GizmoDrones, I made a first testvideo using the D-Cinelike color profile with a good Lut that I slightly edited in Filmora. Here is the link on YT to my video: ua-cam.com/video/dqjcp6errHc/v-deo.html Hope you like it! Greetings from NL.
The Nano+ is awesome indeed. But the Mini 3 Pro is a great drone too See my comment on this video! Feel free to take a look at my channel to see some awesome Nano+ footage. Greetings from 🇳🇱
Best drone in the market for getting footage that look like it was shot in a $50,000 camera. Just watch any movies in 4k and look at the Nano+ footage. It is just impressive. With a little bit of Affect Effects you can turn the Nano+ to look like it was shot in film.
Hard to pick a winner here, the Autel looks a little sharper and colours more saturated, the Mini3 looks a touch softer but the city skyline looks stunning in low light at dusk. Great work as always Brett you can’t go wrong with either drone for convenience and quality of footage.👍
Watching in a calibrated 4K tv the Nano+ looks like a professional footage from experience camera and the Mini 3 pro an up-converted HD. There is not even fair to compare, the Nano+ is on another level.
Thanks so much, at the end of the day they are both amazing little drones. Can't go wrong with either one of them. I just hope DJI can improve the 10 bit feature as I don't really see an improvement over 8 bit. Thanks for letting me fly your drone :)
In testing conditions the DJI Mini 3 Pro has undoubtfully improved from 8-bit. However if we compare that to it's bigger brother, the Mavic 3, which despite it's last major update then unmistakably we have a clear 10 Bit compression! Compare that back to it's smaller brother, the Air Mini 3 pro which is probably somewhere in the middle, say a hyper modified 8-bit compression rate that looks more like a 9-bit on steroids lol ever there was such a thing mind you. Taken into account of the restrictions on the dynamics in optics upon the 1.3 CMOS camera sensor and processing capabilites the higher the ISO value in attempting to minimise spectral artifacts as widely as possible. However you'd be forgiven into thinking that the Autel Nano Plus has a higher dynamic range at 4k despite it's 8 bit compression rate and you'd be absolutely correct, sort of...which overall given the technical perimeters of the Autel Nano Plus does make this drone's dynamic colour range leap out although it's surprisingly noticeable even in post after colour grading after recording on H264 or H265 log format if not in HDR. The Autel Nano Plus's USP (Unique Selling Point) here is with it's unique RYYB colour array design with a billion colour capability along with it's lens @ f1.8. So it's no surprise that the Autel Nano Plus immediately becomes noticeably dynamic in a side by side comparison especially at night in low visibility although their equally both fantastic drones in their own right despite each of their designs, give or take their individual pros and cons. Which begs the question, what might we expect from the launch of the DJI Air Mini 4?? Undoubfully a higher camera resolution with wider colour array with increased flight time and improved processing and a slightly larger camera sensor, one thing is for sure however that it does look encouraging, fingers crossed 🤞
Thanks for your awesome comment. I just uploaded a Mavic 3 Classic (LOG/Night mode video) and I will soon do a comparison with the Nano+ and Mavic 3 in low light. It will be an interesting comparison. Cheers
The Nano had a rocky start but the latest software update fixed the issues and the top speed is similar, 15ms for the Nano+ and 16ms for the Mini 3 Pro. The difference between them when flying is small. I have flown the Nano+ in strong wind and it performs within its top speed. Any drone will have its speed reduced by wind so always fly within the capabilities of the drone.
Clearly both are very good cameras; especially for drones of this size and weight. While the M3P is quite acceptable, the N+ is the clear winner in a lot of image detail, clarity, definition, and shadow highlights to my eye on my current monitor. In some light settings the difference is minimal to the point of not being able to pick one over the other. That says a lot for the M3P. The RYYB sensor filter makes all the difference and will continue to. I believe it will be the new standard for drone cameras when the other brands catch up or come up with an equal or better technology. The RYYB tech cannot be overstated. It's that good. Now if Autel can just fix its product support dept. it would be back on track. I'm hearing rumbles about the Lite with the same N+ camera being released this summer. For those who don't need to be concerned about weight limits, it might be the one to get. I like the Mini's size for one main reason besides the obvious smaller size; they tend to be much quieter so many times people don't even know it's nearby; especially if there's any background noise. I do wish the supply chain issues would finally be resolved so the world could get closer to normal in that one aspect. Cheers and Regards to an excellent comparison. I've been hoping someone I trust to be unbiased, yet knowledgeable enough to operate both drones with the same professionalism, did one of these head to head comparo's. The N+ continues to be the King of the Night.
Thanks so much, I do agree that the Nano+ looks better overall. I thought the DJI 10 bit would give it the edge but the Nano+ did an amazing job plus you have options for normal, LOG and HDR. I think the Nano+ HDR produces the brightest image in low light. I had to test these 2 drones myself as I am not sure if I can 100% trust some of the other reviewers as sometimes they seem biased one way or the other. I know a lot of people like the DJI neutral colour profile and the Mini 3 Pro continues that look. I will be ordering the Autel Lite soon as I think it will ship next month however I have also ordered a DJI Mini 3 Pro.
@@GizmoDrones, I totally agree with your honest reaction👍👌. For me the Nano+ also is the winner when it comes to the camera, certainly in low light. But I also really like the neutral color profile of the Mini 3 Pro certainly in D-Cinelike. With a good Lut you can produce video that comes most close to what your eyes really see. Also the Mini 3 Pro is a awesome flyer with a lot of options and good tracking. The controller with te screen is awesome also. So both drones have there strong and weaker points. Glad I own both. Greetings from 🇳🇱
I used a D-Cinelike LUT for DJI and a LUT for Autel LOG only (see notes below the video) but no other colour or saturation changes. I did minor changes to both drone levels; slight low light increase, and slight highlight decrease for day shots (same for both). The night shots only slight low light increase for shadows, same for both. I made sure I didn't favour one over the other. I had the tiniest S curve, same for both. I wanted to see the footage for both under the same settings. I observed that I couldn't fix the overexposed sun shot which makes me wonder about the 10 bit capability. Cheers
The really noticable colour bending in the sky on the Mini 3 was irritating me. Are you sure it is 10 bit footage, or was it just post grading? Beside that, the footage of the Mini 3 looks bit more natural to me, the Nano has bit less Gamma and oversharpended details sometimes.
I have come to the same conclusion. The video file reports as being 10 bit and Davinci Resolve says it is 10 bit however I am not seeing an improvement over 8 bit. I have done some research and other people with the Mini 3 Pro are asking the same question. DJI need to provide some information on it. I was really hoping it would be 10 bit as that is what I normally use. Someone commented that the data may not be there for 10 bit. I am sure the truth will come out. Cheers
So close but so far away! Watching in a 4K television the Mini 3 Pro footage looks like an up-converted compressed video quality, I can even see the huge difference in a phone as well. Nano+ has better details in everything.
Both have their pro's and con's and is very subjective. No offence to the DJI fanboys, but the Nano+ in normal mode smashes the Mini 3 D-Log footage. The Nano+ has more image detail & dynamic range than the Mini 3. The Nano+ HDR was excellent and looked better than the Mini 3. Nano+ Log looked under exposed in the shadows of some shots, but that can be fixed in post editing. The Mini 3 colour had too much green for my liking.
You can always add digital sharpness in post. But its nearly impossible to recover an oversharpened video like the autel 4k Log. To watch on a smartphone its really good, but on a desktop monitor, it won't be "pro" at all.
@@BlueSatt I know you don't want to hear this, but it's not sharpness, its image detail. If I crop in to say only 10% or even less of original video file, there is no halo effect or noise that you associate with over sharpening, whatsoever. However the image is very detailed. This indicates the Autel has a very good lense.
Not even close. the nano look way better all the way around day or, night. M3 has way to much green in its colors. looks like flying gopro, without the distorted lens. It was no surprise to many the nanoplus would kill it.
The Nano+ is awesome but not kills the Mini 3 Pro😀. I know it because I have both drones. See my comment(s) on this video. Will post a video made with Mini 3 Pro footage later. Greetings from 🇳🇱
Haha. I was surprised the M3 with 10 bit D-Cinelike didn't destroy the Nano+ 8 bit. I think DJI needs to squeeze more out of the camera with another update. I also thought the M3 had too much green. I didn't add any color to the footage. To me the Nano+ produced the best overall image :)
When I watch this on my M1 MacBook Pro, Autel looks better overall. When I watch it on my 65 inch OLDED LG TV, then DJI looks much better. If you watch DronePilot Review of the camera quality, which is the most scientific way I've seen, you will see that Autel does sharpen their image and DJI has a lot more noise. Both very impressive drones though. Your footage is amazing!
Your OLEDED TV may not be calibrated. The main reasons why I always suggest Macs for photographers are that their monitor are calibrated for printing and it has a higher gamma than a PC monitor has. Meaning that it is perfect for showing (photos) because off the high dynamic range and accurate colors, to get the same on a PC you need to invest on a professional monitor or use a spider-color correct tool. I watch on my calibrate 4K and the Autel looks the same as on my PC. Remember that if you have not calibrated yet your TV will be using the default settings from the floor. Now! If you are editing in a Mac for video, you need to be careful when you export. Always safe to export with a color filter for color legal to avoid the footage looking great on a Mac and horrible in a PC and monitors.
I also find the monitor you use makes a big difference plus monitors with a slow response time always look bad when there is motion on the screen. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is an evolution to the first 2 models and in line with their other models. Autel are trying to break into the consumer category and I think they have innovated with their RYYB camera as it so different to any other camera drone that I have used. I actually like the clarity and super low light capability of the Nano+ but I completely understand people who love the Mini 3 Pro camera as it is improvement over the Mini 2 and is still an awesome camera and the drone itself is feature packed. I will check our DronePilots review too. Many thanks and have a great weekend :)
@@InteractiveDNA Nothing beats OLED, its the best display technology right now, native 10Bit, self emissive and have the instantaneous pixel response, its like 0.000001, LCD tech is not even remotely comparable
Im just not understanding the oversharpening every one complains about. My eyesight is better than 20/20, when i walk around and everything looks super clear, i dont complain and wish my eyesight was worst. If your eyesight isnt 20/20, you go get glasses bc things are blurry. Maybe all these people complaining about oversharpening, just have eyesight thats just slightly off. They can see everything just fine, even very clearbut also looks "smooth" with slighlty blurred edges bc their eyesight isnt perfect. So to them the dji looks normal and np looks fake. But to others np looks great and dji looks like it could be better.
Thanks so much, I do agree the Mini 3 Pro colour is flat allowing you to change it to your preference and many professionals prefer it. The Nano+ colours are already processed although to my eye I do find them pleasing and you don't need to do too much to edit them.
People will say anything based on nonsense and ignorance about the Nano+ having a bad and ugly quality. They don’t understand the difference between definition and over sharpening. Nano (hahaha) of the DJI camera drones beats the video definition of the Nano+. Period!
@@InteractiveDNA well, we must give to Cezar what belongs to Cezar... Camera is great at Nano+... Wind resistance and stability in footage...well...is reverse... Was a hell of a drone.
I do agree, the Nano+ has a clear image and great in low light. I wonder if DJI can improve the Mini 3 Pro with some updates? It is still very new and I am hoping they will squeeze more out of the 10 bit capability.
Felicidades
So very hard to pick the better one, each have their strong points & weak points. There is so much more than just the camera to consider. How do they fly? How do the apps compare? To me the built in screen on the controller of the Mini 3 Pro would be a big plus. Thanks for sharing Brett. 🦘👍😎
Thanks so much. There was no wind in this video and they felt the same when I flew them. Both apps are similar too. However I do like the DJI controller with the inbuilt screen although the edge of the screen is right next to the sticks and my left thumb kept touching the screen and exiting the flight app which is a bit disconcerting while flying, This happened about 6 times. They need to disable or move the icon in the top left corner of the screen as it is too easy to touch while flying.
@@GizmoDrones They can replace the lens! and only then something can be different. Can DJI cure glaucoma? It seams like DJI is under contract to a cheap lens maker. That’s why all their drones lacks of definition.
@@GizmoDrones as far as I know nano uses high quality German lenses, which definitely help and that could be why they're more detailed. If that's the case, not much they can do. If it's in instead the way they're processed, then it would be nice to see it get better. I've got a mini 3 on order. The canera is better on the nano but it's missing the auto tracking i need and after 5mnths i can't rely that'll come out soon or the quality be any good. That's the one thing, or else wouldve proffered the dlog and what seems to be better range for now.
@@gianlucaalessia5538 I keep saying to people that the lens on any camera is the most important fact of higher quality video. The RYYB creates more resolution than the sensels do and captures more light than a bigger sensor with a combination of large aperture. Another things that many do not know is that because the green filter is not there less problems on the edges of trees. Now, if Autel release a raw file game over!
Let my put this way! Watching this video the Nano+ video quality is like watching in 4k from an expensive camera and the Mini 3 Pro a HD quality from a ordinary camera. Nano+ = 🎥 and Mini 3 Pro = 📸
@@bedonline You can see super clearly the difference specially watching in a 4k television. The colors, dynamic range and definition is night and day difference.
You know I have the Nano+ and I love it😀But I have the Mini 3 Pro also now and must say that the D-Cinelike option on the Mini 3 Pro with a good Lut van produce very good footage with realistic colors too. More testing in progress right now and a video will follow later! Greetings from 🇳🇱
@@gekoldronevideos Having more color bits in a low video definition does not make the video better, you just have more slides to push the captured data. You can accomplish this with any footage in post by converting to a 16bit, 24bit and 32bit. It does not mean you are getting more. There is a HUGE difference if the file was in RAW. But even if the file was in at 16bit there is so much the lens can see and how the photons where captured. If you look! the Nano+ is on another level!
The autel is oversharpening way to much. The mini3pro looks pretty good and balanced. Remember that you can always add sharpeness in post, but not the opposite. Its impossible to recover an oversharpened video.
Thanks so much, I think the Autel drone is capturing more detail however I know DJI prefers a less sharp image and a flatter colour profile which many people like. I use Davinci Resolve and there is an option to soften the Autel detail if that's what want and there other options too. I am hoping DJI will improve the 10 bit dynamics in the DJI Mini 3 Pro as this is where it could really shine as many people prefer to edit in 10 bit LOG or D-Cinelike
It's not sharpness, its image detail. If you heavily crop into about 10% (or even less) of original Nano+ video file, there is "no halo effect & no noise" whatsoever, that is associated with over sharpening. However the image is very detailed. This indicates the Autel has a very good lense.
@@ozstrayapanoramas8610 I think you have the right to prefer an aggressively sharpened image over a more organic one. But pros need a flat image (that you can always push in post). The autel oversharpened 4k LOG feels very amateurish, and that's ok, because the public for this drone tend to look at their videos on small screens (where this kind of processing shines). But don't mistake sharpness for detail. You should look at Philip Bloom video on this subject "The difference between sharpness and detail in video". Digital sharpening don't always produce white halo. HDR processing tends to.
IMO the "least bad" way to mitigate oversharpening on Resolve is by using a Sharpen Edge OFX to generate a high contrast mat and use the mat to feed the key input of another node where you add blur. Then tweak the edge detection controls in your first node to adjust the effect. Also, Topaz Video Enhance AI got an effect to counter oversharpening but i found it not very convincing.. There are other methods. But remember that it's always destructive and you'll never recover the original image your sensor is seeing before processing.
The Nano looks awful. Over-saturated, over-sharpened and like an IG photo with too many filters. I believe that this was intentional since many people like that but no thanks for me.
Awesome video, I want to do something similar when I get my Mini 3! thanks for sharing buddy!
Thanks so much and please do, it would be good to see what you think. I look forward to it :)
I much prefer the natural colors on the Mini 3 Pro. Stunning shots.
Yes the DJI colours are more natural out of the box and can be enhanced if needed
Brilliant bit of flying there mate looks awesome great drone Don 🤠🇬🇧👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a great weekend :)
Brett..... complimenti! Immagini spettacolari. A me il piccolo Nano+ fa impazzire. Devo imparare ad utilizzare le LUT. Escono video impressionanti. BELLISSIME!
Buon volo :)
@@GizmoDrones grazie mille. Ci proverò sicuramente 👍
That low-light footage captured in DJI Mini 3 Pro in the end, chef’s kiss!😍
I do agree the Mini 3 Pro has great low light capability, just what everyone wants
I am enjoying the wonderful video The editing is well done and I am enjoying the video comfortably.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend :)
They both look great in low light. I knew the Nano+ was excellent but the quality of the Mini 3 pro is excellent also.
I also agree they are both great drones, can't go wrong either way. Cheers
Thanks for sharing the comparison. They are both great drones. The footage looks nice in low-light condition.
Thanks so much, I agree they are both great. Have a great week :)
Perfect comparison. Love both drones. Thanks so much for sharing. The Dji mini 3 pro looks so powerful.
Nice! We’re getting 10-bit color when shooting in D-Cinelike on Mini 3 Pro now with the new firmware update. Looking forward to more upgrades!!!
Yes me too. I am hoping DJI can squeeze more out of the camera.
Great job Brett
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a great week :)
Hi Gizmo Drones !A lovely video with some amazing drone shots. Beautifully made video bouquet!
Beautiful town. Beautiful landscape! Good music choice!Congratulations!Huge like(106)!
Thanks so much, it was fun testing and comparing these 2 drones. It's always better when you do it yourself :)
My friend
the video is nice and beautiful
always together.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a great week :)
Excellent looks great brett nice video thump up I support
Thanks so much, I appreciate it :)
I’m gonna have to go watch this on my tv. Nice mate.
Thanks, I am interested in your thoughts
hmm, i have nano plus and now hovering over buy button for mini 3 pro with remote, but decided to watch more videos, i dont want to downgrade, i like the idea of smart remote and 4K/60
But since i sleep all day and wake up at 19:00, the only time i have to film is during the night so low light capability is the #1 important to me.
I seen otehr videos in the city and it looks comparable so i dont know
Is the MINI 3 comparable to NANO plus for night video or now?
To make blur from sharp you can....to make sharp from blur you cannot...that is the ugly truth...DJI camera looks unfinished compared to Nano.
Wow, the aerial photos are great, my friend is doing great.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it :)
Yes I agree with you. It is good that we have a choice and you can't go wrong either way
Great video comparison. For me, Autel is absolute winner. Definition of Autels video is superior and postproc can add some blur&noise if needed, you cant do it other way arround
I agree with you. DJI has missed the opportunity to have a "Pro" low light drone. Autel gets it right. Cheers
Cheers
@@GizmoDrones the same settings with different video material is not a good idea. Colour grading is allways differnt.
So nice footage.Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it
Yes, both drones are definitely great. It is almost impossible for me to say which is better.
Each drone gives better results in some situations than others.
It would be ideal to use both drones for shooting, so choose the best of both.
Yes the best option is to have both drones. That's what I am doing, at least for a while.
I just order the mini 3 pro and I have the autel the nano+ they both have their benifits. some times the autel is to sharp for lines to close together you will get moraying but the details are in the blacks its better at night perhaps or depending on situation
I think if you can afford/justify it then having both is the best idea. The best of both worlds.
Beautiful video my friend, thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it :)
Such an amazing video! It's a masterpiece :D
Thanks so much, I greatly appreciate it :)
Nice video Gizmo!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. Have a great week :)
Nano plus for the win here
Thanks so much, I appreciate it 😀
Thank you for sharing your excellent work….Autel Nano looks better Image Definition than DJi Mini3 Pro
Thanks so much for your comment. To be honest I prefer the Nano image but I am hoping DJI will improve the 10 bit dynamic range in a future software update. Cheers
Couldn't agree more
Great comparison!!!
Cheers
Great, I know u are going to do a video of the the 2 drones flying through your city at night and lowlight.
Haha you are right. Actually I went to Sydney last week so my next video will be on that city :)
@@GizmoDrones That's great, I will be Waiting.
The lowlight images are obviously better in one over the other. It would have been nice to see the fog function in some of the hazy shots.
Solid demonstration! Now for the big question; one which one flies better?
In this test there wasn't any wind and to me they both flew the same. I couldn't tell the difference. Same dynamics and same speed.
I just bought the nano plus and I don't regret it, it's much better than the mini 3 long life nano plus
You have got an awesome drone
Cheers
2 awesome drones, but I like the style of footage of the Nano more. In my eyes more clear and colorful !
Thanks so much, I was hoping the Mini 3 Pro might be better with 10 bit but I do agree that the Nano+ was clearer and mostly brighter
I still dont know which one to buy, to me the Nano camera wins but the mini 3 seems to fly better and be more reliable.
So mavic is better but prise is also ?
I think they are both good, it depends on what you want. They are similar in features and price.
Greetings from 🇳🇱
for me the nano looks way too over sharpene in some shots. doesn't look natural
Well said Bob
Did you color grade the DJI?
Cheers
The Autel might be a little better but it’s so close
So close but so far away! Watching in a 4K television the Mini 3 Pro footage looks like an up-converted compressed video quality, I can even see the huge difference in a phone as well. Nano+ has better details in everything.
I agree. They're both great and would suit first time flyers or seasoned pilots wanting a compact drone.
Mnikmati indahnya kota bersama drone yg keren
Terima kasih banyak, saya menghargainya :)
You summarized my thoughts exactly
@@BlueSatt I know you
don't want to hear this, but it's not sharpness, its image detail.
Greetings from 🇳🇱
Watching in a 4k the Nano+ just eats alive the mini 3 prolow!
@@gianlucaalessia5538 You should understand that sharpness from the lens and from post-processing looks very different.
Not withstanding nano's other foibles. It's camera still reigns supreme amongst the minis.
I tend to agree with you although I try to be neutral as many people love the DJI neutral colour, soft image.
Just my personal thought but I feel Mini 3 has more realistic colour, I mean autel is nice but a little over.
Thanks so much, I do agree the Mini 3 Pro colour is flat allowing you to change it to your preference and many professionals prefer it. The Nano+ colours are already processed although to my eye I do find them pleasing and you don't need to do too much to edit them.

When I look at quality of image, Mini 3 Pro seems to be a bad joke compared to Nano+....
Yes. Nano+ is the best for camera quality. But this nano+ is very brittle
Damn... If just was combined...
Agree!👍😀See my comment on this video. Feel free to take a look at my channel to see some awesome Nano+ footage. Greetings from 🇳🇱
Autel is indeed a superior camera.... also with no worry of geofencing or aeroscope...
Dji has everything else going for it though
Thanks so much. There was no wind in this video and they felt the same when I flew them. Both apps are similar too. However I do like the DJI controller with the inbuilt screen although the edge of the screen is right next to the sticks and my left thumb kept touching the screen and exiting the flight app which is a bit disconcerting while flying, This happened about 6 times. They need to disable or move the icon in the top left corner of the screen as it is too easy to touch while flying.
Nano is easily the winner and in low light its not even a competition any more
True to that!
Yes the Nano holds its own. I am wondering if DJI can squeeze more out the Mini 3 Pro camera. Let's see what they do.
The nano+ is better. It's impressive
@@bedonline You can see super clearly the difference specially watching in a 4k television. The colors, dynamic range and definition is night and day difference.
@@InteractiveDNA yes i see. I have the nano+. I am very impressive for the camera
Nano better in low light.
Thanks so much, I agree with you :)
A Nice DJI Mini 3 Pro🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺💙
Thanks so much, I appreciate it
The autel is oversharpening way to much. The mini3pro looks pretty good and balanced.
Remember that you can always add sharpeness in post, but not the opposite. Its impossible to recover an oversharpened video.
I completely agree with your judgement. I just posted a similar comment.😉
The nano is oversharped mess with lower dynamic range, mini 3 pro is way superior
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend :)
The Nano looks awful. Over-saturated, over-sharpened and like an IG photo with too many filters. I believe that this was intentional since many people like that but no thanks for me.
Thanks for your comment, the Mini 3 Pro has a look similar to other DJI drones which will make a lot people very happy
the autel is embarrassing.
Too much sharpening applied, unusable images
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend :)
I think you are blind. Buy some glasses
