thanks for posting! my mom, her 8 siblings and my grandparents all lived in houlton. she was born in 61 but had several older and younger siblings. i spent a lot of time there visiting family as a child in the 90’s. it has a special place in my heart despite my mom not liking it. my grammy’s house was on pleasant st and is still there but someone else bought a few years before she died (she moved in with her love to a nice house in mattawamkeag, maine. i’ll never forget the smell. or the peanut carnival or the 4th of july carnival (not sure the name) or my families camp my grandfather built in island falls on lake mattawamkeag❤❤. my aunt worked in the first bank you drove by for yearsssss. nice to go down memory lane! thank you
I left Houlton when I was 29. I moved to Dallas, Texas. It was a huge move. I even loved driving on 6-7 lane highways. I met my husband in TX and in 2015, we moved to Raleigh, NC. I lived on Willard St next to the high school. I love coming home to visit. There’s nothing like flying into Bangor and driving that two hours (1.4 hrs is probably more like it)…. Thankyou so much for this video. If you do another video, maybe next time you can go onto Military and go to onto Willard and go by the HS and swing by the dairy bar lol…
This must of been filmed in early December because houlton is covered in snow now! I live outside of Houlton and the roads are definitely not bare up here right now.
I went to Schenck High School in East Millinocket years back. Been to Holton a few times. Moved to CA, boy has it turned into a hell hole over the last ten years, in the past few years its gotten really bad..... Love Maine
ME is a dump, been all over from Lubec to Rumford and Fort Kent. ME is loaded with pill junkies, drunks and video game addicts. They lie and say they go on hikes every day. CA kicks ass over any state and its economy dominates the US. NY has better lakes and mountains than ME. The food is slop in ME.
My late father was born & and raised with 7 brothers and sisters in Houlton. The last time was in Houlton was in '82. I remember some of it and it's grow & changed since then. Thank you for the video tour.
I liked the curvy bits of Green St. I also looked up the house that was for sale on the first corner (I’m not the only one who does that, right?😃); nice house.
Been to Houlton a dozen or more times. Stay off the interstate when you drive there you will love the trip. The town, small northern Maine town. You can still buy a home there for under 100K.
Nice ride in Houlton Maine. Can you take a video of Oakfield. We lived on Timoney lake right next to the boat ramp on the right. I know it is a small town but very nice to live in, great people. We had snowmobiles trails and ATV trails near us and use them for 10 years of our retirement. Bests part of our life. Thanks 0:15
Strange to see sidewalks on one side of the street and not on the other. Do people not walk on the other side of the street as well? Thanks for the tour...
Also where US 2 (eastern) ends. However, there is still plenty of US 1 left, going north through the rest of "The County," which Aroostook County, the second largest county east of the Mississippi River, is called.

A nice drive through quaint Houlton Maine. I'd love to see this town is spring or summer.
Houlton is at its peak during the fall 👌🏼

This video has the most cars I've ever seen in a Houlton drive video. And some traffic lights!😊

If it was some town in upstate NY, I would believe it too!
Flushing NY once looked like that, perhaps more picturesque, now a 100% cement jungle
Very quaint New England town
It looks like such a quiet place! Hopefully one day I can visit it as a foreigner
You turned on to Franklin, not Pearce; at about 4:30 into the drive.
If you’re willing, can you take a drive down south street towards the elementary school. I used to live on that road and I miss my home
Houlton was my mother’s home. It looks so different, but not really
