Would not like to mount the fusebox on the tank. Maybe towards the firewall or to the sides . Just watch for water ingress on the sides as im sure you would know
For that hot positive junction, a simple modern positive post stud gives you a way to securely mount it and cover it... along with a connection point for any future additions. I expect you have one sitting around as the hot point underhood on all those cars that dont have the battery underhood.. if not, the $2 online store ones work.
I don't plan on adding anything to it. I barely plan on adding one seat, let alone more electronics haha. If I do, though, I'll probably go that route.

I'm mounting it in the glove box.
I remember converting them from 6V to 12 V.
