Regal Bryant Arte Exhibition -These Hands of Mine- (Tales of Symphonia)

- A video requested by dagoldenclip2, and probably the last Symphonia video I'll be doing for awhile (emphasis on probably). This also counts as my first exhibition :o
These are all the artes available to the kicking fiend Hitmonle-...err i mean Regal Bryant, in the Playstation2 version of Tales of Symphonia.
Annotations: White = Base/Arcane/Elemental Artes, Red = Technical Artes, Blue = Strike Artes, Green = PS2 Exclusive Artes (the english for most of those are just my logical guesses on what Namco Hometek would translate them as.) Simple and clean~~~
Song : Kotodama Runner (Warrior's Orochi 2; KOEI).
(And just to clarify the last few seconds of video so I don't get youtube'd, I do not own the character Regal Bryant, Tales of Symphonia, the Tales of Symphonia logo, Kotodama Runner, or any material in this video. They are owned by Namco Bandai and KOEI respectively, I just put them together.)

This video was great in helping me pick skills for Regal, especially since Chronicles was released. Basically what I learned is that all of Regal's T-type skills are better than his S-type ones.
I'm glad people still find this video useful (despite how it pales in comparison to my future exhibitions, haha). Regal is pretty much all T-type, yeah. The only S-type arte I'd say is superior to its T-type equivalent is Dragon Rage over Dragon Fury since Dragon Fury's first kick tends to push enemies back and make the second one miss. On the same note, Dragon Rage is useless against flying enemies, so there's a give and take.

I kind of want to switch out Eagle Rage for Eagle Fall just because of those extra hits you can get on your combo. Do you think that is a good idea? I completely agree with you otherwise, though.

I suddenly remembered his fight against Zelos in Symphonia the animation. Even Zelos doesn't stand a chance against his kicks. O_O

Genma Hienkyaku is now: Savage Mirage (spoken as Mirage Swallow Kick)
Zanma Hienkyaku is now: Savage Fury (spoken as Power Swallow Kick)
Ryuuko Metsugajin is Wyrm Wrath, same as Ryuuko Metsugazan
Garen Zesshuugeki is now: Fanged Finality
@AzureAcee Nice to hear, he's always been my favorite to play in the game. It's too easy to enjoy the greatness that is Regal
It was never stated that he killed Alicia with it, just with his hands, which is exactly why I'm glad they DIDN'T feature it in the sequel. The only reason he used it in the jail cell (and in the ice caverns) is because he didn't have to break his vow that he would never fight with his hands again to do so, as it wasn't fighting in either circumstance.

Haha, I like the terms you used for the ones not translated yet. Ah Regal, a cool guy, but so overshadowed by everyone else, sadly.
Yea it's pretty powerful for one hit, and its independent from Regal's combos so if you're quick enough it will connect with some combos you do.
It really shines if Regal gets surrounded.

Would be nice if you could unlock an ultimate or second form after he forgive himself and uses hands again
I wish Regal had Unison combo's with another character in the Gamecube version... ;-; I think he's the only character that has none. That "Wyrm Rage" one looked badass!

That 'Supreme Severing Storm' should have been Regal's Mystic Arte in ToS2.
No translations now cause google fuckin removed annotations..
So... The PS2 version is just in Japanese, right? Or ? cause I woul dliek to know if there is an english version for the ps2 and if it has the range of the Japanes one, cause I still see all that the game has on the japanese GS version compaired to the english that I have... and might be easier ot play too.. the english one doesn't have it all and has so much technical stuff going on..

I disagree, I think they should've used the most obvious idea for his Mystic Arte, the energy beam attack he used to break free of that jail cell in Derris Kharlan. If he were willing to use it in distress like he was in during that situation, he should be willing to use it in desperation for his life in battle. That would just make more sense imo, eventhough he killed his spouse (I think) with it.

I don't get it how do you play this game and understand it in Japanese... and also when you got a critical damage it said Critical Damage instead of saying it in Japanese ._.
So they basically took a shit, and named it the sequel to this awesome game? D: I loved tales of symphonia 2, but it was NOTHING compared to this
