This is a Master piece. I remember back then on 2006. I was a teenager, and tough about the japanese people being so lucky for living in their country where Symhonia was Amazing with all the mystic artes from the Main characters and the competitive Abyssion!
Hey! You did it right! :D You successfully mixed the game's SFX without drowning it with loud background music! I wish the other Exhibitions on UA-cam could figure this out. This one's my new favorite. :)
I, even today, don't know why this game is so "special"... I remembrer when i was a kid, playing with my brother and my sister during hours.. Any game is as nostalgic in my mind as this one.. Tales of symphonia, in my hear, for ever.
lol your absolutely right. I loved the few tales games i've played so the odds are I'll end up enjoying both TOS games. Thanks for the speech I needed that. =)
@boboanime123 Okay, people. Let me clarify this for you. The CG version of TOS only has Lloyd, Genis, and Collete's hi ougi. The PS2 version has the hi ougi for all of the characters. Hence, the reason why I feel limited with my GC version. Understand now?
@jokiu4 Actually, most of the bosses in the Game Cube version have Hi-Ougi too. If you fight a boss in Hard or Mania, they'll use a Hi-Ougi. I noticed this when I fought the final boss on Hard for the first time, and he used Indignation Judgement right after I used it at the start. Kvar, Magnius, Pronyma, and even Volt have been seen using theirs too :D They're just missing the anime cut-ins, however >_>'
It's special because it's one of the highlights in the Game Cube RPG library, which was really small to begin with. So it stands out quite a lot. Not to mention it had a good combat system and the cell-shaded graphics were great.
@WinryNeechan most of these ones you have to push something after a certain arte while in overlimit, but only 3 of these attacks are in the english gamecube version.
@Skirus2 I'm not sure what he said before the indignation judgment, but I can do the romaji for indignation judgment. I think this is what he said before the indignation judgment "Chikara no chigai wo misete aru! indiguneito jajjimento!" Screw what the others said because I actually learned enough Japanese to know this.
Yep XD. It'll also come packed with dual audio too. Though, this isn't the only Tales coming stateside next year. Tales of Xillia 2 as well. Which was confirmed via July's Japan Expo (France).
This is the PS2 port of Tales of Symphonia. They added many things, such as new Hi-Ougis for everyone who didn't have one before (except Shihna/Sheena, whose Summons were made into Hi-Ougis via a cut-in), of which this is an exhibition.
@Hakakuno If only you knew how hard it is to pull it off in ToS1. Notice that she is in Overlimit, is in red health (15%), all allies are down, and she has to have a few other skills with rediculous requirements in effect. To top it all off, you don't just hold a button or two, you have to do an input sequence (like in the Budokai games). It's a chore to say the least.
Hmm, are all those specials available on the gamecube version? I don't think they are, if they're not, I'll be pissed. >.< I know genis, collette, and Lloyd have one.
@Zequire1 the reason is because kratos uses shining bind when he had the flameberge equip so the creators left it as a default so when u use shining bind it changes to the flameberge
@toamatanui101 a few of these are in the GC version. I believe Lloyd's Falcon's Crest, Genis' Indignation Judgment, and Collete's... well I don't remember what her's is called. But it was there.
The only one of these I've actually seen was Colette's and that was in the GC version...but you have to have the PS2 version for the others? (I've always been confused about these)
Hmm, it seems that occasionally when I watch this video I get a very good quality version; like I was actually watching the game on my television. Other times, it is lower quality with blurry parts. I've tried it on another computer, and I have never seen the good quality version. Has this happened to anyone else?
I don't think that's the case. I've managed to get the lower quality version on this computer by simply refreshing the page. On another computer, I've never been able to view the better quality version.
Presea's Last one "Crimson Destruction" is very devastating. I like it though, it shows the destructive capability and true power of an axe. Thumbs up for Presea's last one! I also like shining bind and divine judgement.
@Doomed100 Whatever weapon he has turns into the Flamberge for that Hi Ogi. Yes, it doesn't make any sense, since Lloyd has the Flamberge by the time you get Kratos back in your party. It's just Eye Candy.
@grrrr17 Because they don't have some single alphabets like T (there's 'Chi' but it's different. Considering that English is not their native language, they have to add certain vowels at the end of the names to make it as close as possible to the original names.
Are there any RPGs outside the Tales-franchise that have a similar (or at least very active) battle-system? This RPG had the most fun battlesystem for me...
@wwh92 also the european and american release of ToS2 had additional features like head accesories(europe only), skit library(europe only), motion controlled shortcuts(nobody ever uses them and the whole being able to load a complete save data from original ToS for a reward at the beggining of the game
It appears to be an instrumental version of Starry Heavens by Day After Tomorrow, which is the opening song for the Japanese Gamecube version of the game.
Note: After you beat him, each individual character's kills increases the stats of the devils arms, so they become the most powerful weapons in the game, even though when you equip them in the menu it says they have horrible stats.
@megamegamanz Because Localization of games like these cost alot of money that gets wasted and Namco clearly didn't have enough on the game's US budget to include US voice overs for Skits. Its also why the updated PS2 version didn't release outside of japan. And if you thought this was unfair look at all the extras Tales of Graces F(PS3) has over the Wii version extra DLC Music,Costumes,Excel. Mode, and Future Arc So its all about money luckily Graces F is being released in the US
@pikalink2 thats because Nintendo limited the gamecube to 1.6gb mini DVDs Tales of Symphonia is about 2.3gb thats about the same size as Kingdom Hearts which was a short game Kingdom Hearts 2 used up way more and this is without the extras that the Final Mix Disc had. Its just like Tales of Phantasia the original didn't have Mystic Artes but the PS1 added 2 for Cless and the PSP version added voices for all scenes(or most) This was just extra ideas thats all.
Final Fury is Regal's Tales of Symphonia 2 hi ougi. The one he does here isn't the same. You just have to watch a video in which Regal (ToS2) does his hi ougi in the japanese version. The name is "Satsugeki Boukoken" (Final Fury). The one in ToS PS2 version (this video) is Garen Zesshuugeki.
I dont know if its related... but when you look at the character cut in on the 1 of Colette, Lloyd, Genis, the cut in apear differently... from the other and in the us version they only putted Lloyd, Colette, Genis O_o i dont know if its related but i noticed that while watching the vid... (sorry if i make error my english not alway good) :P
y'know..when i was playing the GameCube version, on my seccond time through twords the end, Colette randomly casted "Holy Jugment" like in this vid...she said "oopsie"..and it came up as "unknown attack".. does that mean I can get the other characters to do some of these attacks too? (yeah..i'm kind of a noob..i've only completed the game twice. ^^;)
..... Abyssion scares me now... I never knew he could bust out half the party's specials! Falcon's Crest, Indignation Judgement, and the others I can't seem to remember... I'll never look at him like just a plain old "evil incarnate" again!
Raine's first one was cool. Colette's was funny, lol. She was all confused. Man, I wish we had also gotten the PS2 version....I would've loved to have all these....
1:30- "Is this the path you have chosen? Then it shall end...in Crimson Devastation! ... for you shall never turn back time." At least, that's how I'd localize it.
This is a Master piece. I remember back then on 2006. I was a teenager, and tough about the japanese people being so lucky for living in their country where Symhonia was Amazing with all the mystic artes from the Main characters and the competitive Abyssion!
Me too, I wanted the ps2 version so bad
I watched this video so mani times xD
うおおお懐かしい!
アップロードされた当時何回も繰り返し見てたの思い出しました
もう15年も前なのかぁ…
i love the quadruple shining bind at the end
This is still hands down one of my favorite things on the internet!! ❤❤❤
Hey! You did it right! :D You successfully mixed the game's SFX without drowning it with loud background music! I wish the other Exhibitions on UA-cam could figure this out. This one's my new favorite. :)
やっぱシンフォニアの秘奥義ってめちゃかっこいいよな
I, even today, don't know why this game is so "special"...
I remembrer when i was a kid, playing with my brother and my sister during hours..

Tales of symphonia, in my hear, for ever.
lol your absolutely right. I loved the few tales games i've played so the odds are I'll end up enjoying both TOS games. Thanks for the speech I needed that. =)
Best Symphonia Hi-Ougi vid ever, love Presea's powerfull Hi Ougi and the end with all 4 Shining Binds was awesome.
Sencillamente sublime... y mas acompañado el video de esa musica
grandioso!!
@boboanime123 Okay, people. Let me clarify this for you. The CG version of TOS only has Lloyd, Genis, and Collete's hi ougi. The PS2 version has the hi ougi for all of the characters. Hence, the reason why I feel limited with my GC version. Understand now?
ending was cool with the split screen shining bind. That move is nostalgic. Its also cool in the new tales of vesperia
Epic shining binds at the end there
man.. i need this version of this game
and i need ToS2
4 some reason i get the chills when i listen to the beginning of the song.
That was "Starry Heavens" by Day after Tomorrow. It's also the main Tales of Symphonia theme in Japan. Look it up.
YES! I have been wanting a Tales of Symphonia prequel since I finished my first playthrough.
For those who wonder what is the theme in the Background, it's a remix of "Starry Heavens" but in heroic version :D
Really awesome Shining Bind End. I love it.
NICE!!! I like those hi-ougis and good job with the bg music I like Starry Heavens :)
@Skirus2 Indignation Judgement is in ToS for the Gamecube and so is Lloyd's and Collette's skills.
@10zachhenninger Er... they are in the Gamecube version.
@jokiu4 Actually, most of the bosses in the Game Cube version have Hi-Ougi too. If you fight a boss in Hard or Mania, they'll use a Hi-Ougi. Cool video! It's hard to survive after taking one of these hi ougis xD
i say great job doing the vid, i make a point towatch this and then go play a tales game every day, wow i need to rethink my life, anyways, thx
This video is a masterpiece.
@Skirus2 I believe the syllables are spread out like the. In-Dig-i-na-tun Ju-Ji-Men-tou.
does it help?
@WinryNeechan most of these ones you have to push something after a certain arte while in overlimit, but only 3 of these attacks are in the english gamecube version.
@Skirus2 I'm not sure what he said before the indignation judgment, but I can do the romaji for indignation judgment.

i plan on getting this soon, but that will be over summer break when i can work and not worry about school. But i so wish i had this, it so awesome :)
This is the PS2 port of Tales of Symphonia. They added many things, such as new Hi-Ougis for everyone who didn't have one before (except Shihna/Sheena, whose Summons were made into Hi-Ougis via a cut-in), of which this is an exhibition.

How does one acquire the delightful arrangement of Starry Heavens played in the background of this video?
@toamatanui101 a few of these are in the GC version. I believe Lloyd's Falcon's Crest, Genis' Indignation Judgment, and Collete's... well I don't remember what her's is called. But it was there.

@Sroid Oh no, GC can't use these moves.Unfortunately, these moves are exclusive to the PS2 version of TOS, which was never released in America. :(
He beats the shit out of one enemy while his one true love watches over him, protecting him while he fights, and giving him strength, its epic, no? :D
sorry, my bad. Also to candyman, they have the gamecube tos out, but not the ps2 version.
I don't think that's the case. I've managed to get the lower quality version on this computer by simply refreshing the page. On another computer, I've never been able to view the better quality version.
is the bgm on the ost (or soundtrack, or whatever...)?
I watch this almost every day! XD
Presea's Last one "Crimson Destruction" is very devastating. I like it though, it shows the destructive capability and true power of an axe. Thumbs up for Presea's last one!
I also like shining bind and divine judgement.
@Yuskai23
not a remake, but how about a new tales with mithos as the protagonist 4000 years before tales of symphonia
I remember hearing this song with vocals before... From where is this song?
@Doomed100 Whatever weapon he has turns into the Flamberge for that Hi Ogi.
Yes, it doesn't make any sense, since Lloyd has the Flamberge by the time you get Kratos back in your party. It's just Eye Candy.
@grrrr17 Because they don't have some single alphabets like T (there's 'Chi' but it's different. Considering that English is not their native language, they have to add certain vowels at the end of the names to make it as close as possible to the original names.
Sweet video, and very cool remix of Starry Heavens.
I only own the GC version, but this was so cool! Has anyone played both versions? If so, how similar are they in game play?
Most of the other Hi Ougis aren't in the Gamecube version. Only the one from Lloyd, Genis and Colette.
WOOOO
@wwh92 Which will probably change if that was the reason for Tales of the Abyss 3DS's delay. :/
Are there any RPGs outside the Tales-franchise that have a similar (or at least very active) battle-system? This RPG had the most fun battlesystem for me...
@grrrr17 Makes sense. I guess they're not used to saying English based names without adding vowels.
@wwh92 also the european and american release of ToS2 had additional features like head accesories(europe only), skit library(europe only), motion controlled shortcuts(nobody ever uses them and the whole being able to load a complete save data from original ToS for a reward at the beggining of the game
The background music playing during the movie is Starry Heavens ~hiroic version~.
@lolXDperson do you know where can I download this song? =D
It appears to be an instrumental version of Starry Heavens by Day After Tomorrow, which is the opening song for the Japanese Gamecube version of the game.
i cant find that song(instumental) at youtube T_T
Note: After you beat him, each individual character's kills increases the stats of the devils arms, so they become the most powerful weapons in the game, even though when you equip them in the menu it says they have horrible stats.

Why did these hi-ougi's not be realesed in the uk :(
Nostalgia goodies.
the anime images looked so much better before the HD remakes.
tales of symphonia is the best RPG I ever played
Does anyone know what Raine's second hi-ougi called?
so far on the game cube ive only done the hi-ougi attacks for lloyd and genis... i dont know how to do the others... can u help me?
@pikalink2 thats because Nintendo limited the gamecube to 1.6gb mini DVDs Tales of Symphonia is about 2.3gb thats about the same size as Kingdom Hearts which was a short game Kingdom Hearts 2 used up way more and this is without the extras that the Final Mix Disc had.

@TheGreatMillz wait a min, do u know if GC can use these moves?
If so how?
i like the ending with kratos mithos zelos and aby using shining bind all at once but all together its a great vid
Whats the Music called becuase its really cool
Thank you a lot
T_T just ove the new Hi-Ougi's and costumes xP btw good vid XD
This is wonderful ^_^ I'm so glad my friend has this game
キャラクターに合った色した
昔のカットインの方が好きだわ
I miss TOD 1&2 from PS1. I have hear that is an Tales of Destiny Remake? Remake after TOD1?
Final Fury is Regal's Tales of Symphonia 2 hi ougi. The one he does here isn't the same.
You just have to watch a video in which Regal (ToS2) does his hi ougi in the japanese version. The name is "Satsugeki Boukoken" (Final Fury).
The one in ToS PS2 version (this video) is Garen Zesshuugeki.
question, does anyone in the english edition besides genis, collete and lloyd have hi-ougi techs? just wondering. (i wish they did)
Oh,it is? lol
Thanks, now I'ma go and find it,I remember that I liked the vocal version...
I dont know if its related... but when you look at the character cut in on the 1 of Colette, Lloyd, Genis, the cut in apear differently... from the other and in the us version they only putted Lloyd, Colette, Genis O_o i dont know if its related but i noticed that while watching the vid... (sorry if i make error my english not alway good) :P
how were you able to see the hi ugi's of the bosses? i never succeded on that. mail me please.
Thanks!
I love Presea's High Ougi. ^_^
Very Destructive. The true power of the the axe.
It's boku. I should've put a きえろう (not sure how to spell it) at the end though.
y'know..when i was playing the GameCube version, on my seccond time through twords the end, Colette randomly casted "Holy Jugment" like in this vid...she said "oopsie"..and it came up as "unknown attack".. does that mean I can get the other characters to do some of these attacks too? (yeah..i'm kind of a noob..i've only completed the game twice. ^^;)
well, 13 years later. how are ya doing?
may I know what is the song for the music?
@imawindow
The star ocean series is also an action RPG, though the gameplay isn't nearly as good imo.
Man what is the name of this song, it's so bad ass
..... Abyssion scares me now... I never knew he could bust out half the party's specials! Falcon's Crest, Indignation Judgement, and the others I can't seem to remember... I'll never look at him like just a plain old "evil incarnate" again!
Mithos sounds the coolest!
thxs man. just was asking. thought as much...bleh
Raine's first one was cool. Colette's was funny, lol. She was all confused.
Man, I wish we had also gotten the PS2 version....I would've loved to have all these....
1:30- "Is this the path you have chosen? Then it shall end...in Crimson Devastation!
... for you shall never turn back time."
At least, that's how I'd localize it.
I might have missed it, but where was Falcon Crest/Divine Justice?
is posible to still get this version?
maybe in an emulater?
in battle, wut does it mean wen the char's icon is pulsing and shining? i dont get that
Actually the US name is Sacred Shine. I know it was a beta tech in ToS, but Raine got it in Radiant Mythology.
ok music best thing ever (colletes voice not)
i want the game for the gamecube is that version aany good????
i have seen this video 10 times!
