📚 Learning Recommendation: amzn.to/3X95qwx The Cannonball Adderley Omnibook is my top pick for mastering Cannonball Adderley’s incredible solos. A must-have for any serious jazz musician!
i really need a second line of music with all of Patrick Bartley's "hey's" and "yeah's" because he is a crucial part of this duet and feeding the soloist so much energy!
Kudos to this kid for jumping on the double time switch-up after the rhythm section heard him blow a few of those 16th note runs and set him up for it. That takes guts and great ability, this kid is nuts!
My gosh…. I only saw this because I typed pfrancing covers” and scrolled until I found something real and look what I’ve stumbled upon that kid was looking into the gates of it all, what a song and sprit! Amazing !
The energy when he started to go fast just made me bite the permanent marker next to me xD - whats wrong with me? Great transcription never the less...
Nice work! Two things: grace notes are *always* slurred to the note they're leading to, and no need for tenuto on 8th notes on the downbeat in a swing style - that's already the default interpretation. Hope that helps get you another 1%! nicely done!
Hard to explain this without an auditory example. But it’s the beats between the beats, also called subdivisions. Triplet feel, also called a “Shuffle” is three even subdivisions every beat. Look up a drummer playing a Shuffle, a Swing, and a Straight Eight. You’ll notice in a shuffle you can say “choc-o-late” every beat
yea i will say his tone sounds a bit brash/underdeveloped but I think he plays like that on purpose. Regardless his language and playing make up for it id say

Few players possess the ability to play solos as musically and captivatingly as this one does.
プリップリッ
Anyone can produce this magic. It just has to come from the soul bro.
few players practice for like 6 hours a day years on end
Thats because you dont have to
The last time I got a feeling like this listening to someone play was from Patrick Bartley himself. Fucking incredible.

Was this you Oliver? It was awesome, and PB loved it.

what does "language" mean?
It's what we use in jazz to identify common phrases and licks. It's how we speak whilst playing our instruments. 🙏
Is there nothing they can’t duplicate 🎶🎵🎷
anyone who this player is?

@@Arycke thanks man
Makes me miss my alto haha
Find a way back to it!
@@OliverWolfe I chose tenor and soprano over it haha, but a great alto is a wonderful thing. Alto is hardest to sound this good imo.
this kid is CRAZY
this is very profound

Looks like its transcribed in concert pitch instead of Eb
