@@geevee9582cable is only for pre-heating. You still need a teapot that you can boil water in for it. For this reason I went with the 58x and couldn't be happier with it.
Flair 58 II update : 1. more "uni-body" design . no more ext .cable and module only 1 power cord for all . 2. heating circuit more wide spread not only on the upper part 3. more subframe to support the pressure , to avoid basket tilt during brew 4. laser cut water tray some from pro2 5. chamber temp indicator
Nice. I didn't want cables so I got the 58x but having the option to connect and disconnect whenever one wants is awesome. One thing disappointing is the machining of the base. It should align better. But so far I am happy and I think it should last very long.
It needs additional stabilizers like the Neo Flex, perhaps on the sides of the ring to the base. It still bends more than I would like. It would also be nice if the temp controls could be integrated into the reservoir piece with buttons, and if it could somehow be more variable temp, with sensors to tell me when ideal temp has been reached.
I have owned both a Flair Neo Flex and Flair 58, and the Neo Flex was far far less stable, and regularly popped off its base (rotating forward) as I was pulling shots. The difference between the two units in terms of stability is night and day, and it's hard to imagine someone being happy with the stability of the Neo Flex but not the 58. What stabilizers are you talking about?
I want one of these, but the cheap plastic temp controller is the only thing putting me off of it... wish it was integrated into the main body, was easy to disassemble, and came with a carrying case
don't know how anyone didn't mention this while making the first one. Coffee people often have an eye for aesthetics as well. No way the controller needed to be that way.
At least there is a quick disconnect for it now. I bet someone can figure out a way to reverse engineer the control box to implement a microcontroller to have better temp control. I hate the current control box its really awkward, I had to 3d print a mount for it just so it faces forward.
People really aren't buying these because the button on the cable feels like cheaper plastic? It's mind boggling that this would be a dealbreaker for anyone. You can use it just fine without the cable (as I'm doing with the 58x), so just unplug it and preheat with hot water if you hate the plastic switch box so much.
Look into the flair 58x. You can get refurbished units for hundreds less than the 58 or 58+, and I don't find myself wanting to upgrade to the electronic version because preheating with boiling water is easy and goes quickly
So I’ve had my Flair 58 for about a week now.. then they drop the 58+.. what great timing.. NOT.. I was wondering why they were running the $75 off sale on the 58.. Looks like a few nice upgrades on the + though…. I’m really enjoying my 58 and have pulled some really juicy shots (and some pretty horrible ones as well).
I have the 58x for over an year now. Always thought of getting the heating element upgrade. I know 58+ is aesthetic only upgrade, should i sell off my 58x and upgrade to 58+ instead of just getting the preheat system?
I have a 10 g Decent basket and works fine with the flair. But you need a proper grinder as it will require some serious fine settings. On my Niche Im usually in the range of 5-8 for the 10g single basket. In comparison the 15g Decent basket require a grind setting around 10-12.
@@Roman_4x5 it is an espresso machine. But the heating mechanism seems like an afterthought. It has 3 settings for temperature, but I’m not sure if it’s measuring the water temperature. It should be like a coffee kettle that we can finely adjust the temperature.
But you CAN dial in the temp and you do that with your kettle. The temps get you to a low medium and high amount of energy into the reservoir. That is just a range that helps sync enough energy to stabilize the water that's going into the system.
bought two machines and same feeling, you took me for a beta tester and new upgrades came up to solve previous issues. Yet your support is non existent. never again
Eyo Flair, can you properly size the tampers? The plastic dose/tampers that come with most of your basic models are pathetic. The metal tamper in your premium models does not fit properly and are over priced as well... the tamper used in this video looks undersized as well...
@@FlairEspresso I beg to differ. There are easy solutions to those two possibilities. The coffee this tamper leaves up the sides above the screen is annoying to deal with.
@Tom Jones only left there because the mouth of the basket is wider than the middle and the barista didn't do anything to settle the grounds before tamping.
@Tom Jones we are releasing an updated brewing guide for the 58 models in around one week in which we demonstrate this point. We invite you to check it out when it drops.
video team deserves a shoutout on this one-
I'm so glad this is mostly an aesthetic upgrade. Love my Flair 58, and I don't want to be tempted with an upgrade. Haha.
yeah they just said this is for aesthetics nothing to upgrade here
how does it work with the water? do you still have to heat the water or does it heat it for you now? or is the cable only for preheating

Absolutely agree. I am surprised they are not offering aftermarket stabilizer legs that would fit their existing systems.

Can we talk about the tamper looking super undersized for the basket? It was like a 54 in a 58. Lol
Tolerance like an Italian motorcycle
Yeah, the tamper is like a waste of walnut wood, tbh… 😂 Flair, Can I have a refund for the tamper?
The tamper is from the 58 le and it fits perfectly unless this one is different somehow.
@Alex Yeung as you say, a perfect fit. The talent didn't knock the pile of coffee down so it spilled over when they tamped is all

They had how long to take another pass at this, and it still looks like the remote to granddad's recliner. Or like a cheap IKEA LED strip switch.
💯 with as long as the warehouse sale was going, I figured something new was coming… but that is the part I thought they’d fix.

Been thinking about getting a flair 58 when I move house next month, just unsure I can handle that wire with a huge box on my worktop!

Really hoping a pro model comes out with PID control instead of that low medium and high sketchy looking heater switch
I purchased the Flair 58LE last year, and it's sad to see it's not really a "limited edition" anymore. This 58+ is the same product...
Maybe it was a limited edition, but then it was so well received that they decided to invest in it more and start to produce it in bigger numbers?
no, your limited edition got the "tail" in your brewing head, like original 58 has
I rather it say 58 LE than 58+ lol plus usually means larger bit this is just an aesthetician upgrade
I’ve got no space in the kitchen but I’m still so tempted

Why does the tamper look significantly undersized?
Does the power supply support autovolt? Thank you
Yes
in the ad there should be a blacksmith who worked hard in the forge and after finishing the job, he makes himself a coffee
Can you still brick your power brick if you plug it in in the wrong order?
No, it can be plugged as unplugged at the brew head while the PSU is plugged into the wall outlet
@@FlairEspresso wonderful!
Looks like the limited edition wasn't so limited? lol
Everything looks great. But... Can we fire the person who designed the preheat controller?
Blacked out screws?! SOLD!
A beauty!
Question, does it come with a single-wall basket instead of a double-wall?
What is the electrical plug used for, and what is its voltage?
Used for preheating the brew chamber to prevent heat loss during brewing. Auto-volt 110-220

Is this new brew head available for purchase on its own? And does it fit the old frame?
in time it will be available for purchase separately, and is compatible with your frame
Where can I buy it in Mexico? Do you ship to Mexico at the website?
I want that mirror for my 58. When will stock return?
Your 58 is not magnetic and the mirror will not work with it.

how is the "+" different to the "LE"?

Pretty cool, it would be nice if you would upgrade it to boil the water to temperature inside the brew chamber rather than arbitrarily heating it.
For that you are looking at espresso machines ;)
The heating is only there so the water won't lose the temperature.

The all metal tampers for both the PRO2 and 58 are as tight as a fit as is prudent e.g. to prevent binding and/or puck suction.
