    I came specifically for the piping as opposed to overlapping tolex on cabinets. I found what I was looking for, so thanks for that (".) Subscribed while I was here.

    Thank you so much for your tutorials!!! I'm embarking on building my first cab and this video along with the video showing how to go around a concave corner with tolex are going to be HUGE helps to me!!!

    great work, thanks. I use a cheap little roller for pushing insect screen into door or window grooves to jam the tolex into the slot. FWIW

    Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a source for gold piping used on a early '70s Marshall cabinet.

    Great video Michael - lets have more please. Tolex covering would be good, especially how to make neat curved corners where the faceplate shows.

    It would be great if you could do some videos on basic cabinet building using hand tools (circular saws, jigsaws, routers, etc.) and lumber from Lowe's or Home Depot type stores.

    Excellent. Even using the same table saw as I have. I did wonder how this was done neatly...

    • @ModulusAmps
      @ModulusAmps  4 роки тому

      yes, but its not the stock blade, you need to change to a 3.2mm kerf, I have a really good blade I get that cuts like butter and is quiet too

      @cowasakiElectronics 4 роки тому

      @@ModulusAmps My blade is due for replacement anyway so that's the plan.Are you planning on selling that glue? I've been using high temperature spray adhesive OR that exact one you said don't use due to the fumes :-) Both have done well for me so far but I like the idea of re-activating it with the heat gun. This technique is just what I need for a request I've had to re-cover a head in two colours with each colour separated by cord.

      @@ModulusAmps You wouldn't happen to have a link to the blade. If you've found one that works well on that saw there is no point in re-inventing the wheel....

    I am recovering a cabinet and I would like to use red piping, but I can't find any red piping with no lip. Would it work to take piping with a lip and cut the lip off?

    • @ModulusAmps
      @ModulusAmps  2 роки тому +1

      No. Just get some red wire. The 600v 22 awg tri rated wire we sell works great. It has a 2.6mm diameter. Look for something like that.

    • @ModulusAmps
      @ModulusAmps  2 роки тому

      @@jeremyvonk6853 its stranded. Solid core would probably be too stiff

      What size piping did you use?

    What size piping did you use for that cut. Is the cut the size of the piping or slightly smaller/larger?

    • @ModulusAmps
      @ModulusAmps  2 роки тому

      Hi Bryan, Sorry missed your questions, the piping can vary really, but around 2.6mm is what you want with a saw kerf of 3.2mm

    Hi thanks for the great video! What's the diameter of the beading you used?

    • @ModulusAmps
      @ModulusAmps  5 років тому +2

      Hey Christoph, It's 2.6 to 2.7mm. You can use PVC wire of the same diameter too for other colours. 22AWG tri rated wire works well

      @@ModulusAmps perfect thanks again! I already have some 2.5 mm ordered so that should work fine, but there were also other sizes available so I thought I'd better check :)

    When you cut the hole for the front panel, do you cut it square 90 then route?

    • @ModulusAmps
      @ModulusAmps  4 роки тому

      No, the routing template is cut square, but when rough cutting out the front panel you need to leave wood for the radius

    Do you use any glue to hold the piping?

      No. Its a tight fit with staples at each end

      This one is 3/4" we also use 1/2" and a 60 degree bit on the Hiwatt cabs
