Pretty neat idea that fikter. On a maximum effort engine you would also get an oil analysis done after every meeting too. Cheap (under $50) and depending on results you may not need to change oil.

Depending on the results, You might need to change the type of oil you are using as well.

They're a really smart tool for the RETURN on dry sumps, fitted between the scavenge wafer and the tank, for a pre-filter and as mentioned, check for foreign matter in the oil.
Then either use a conventional "race" filter, or another "Clearview" with the filter adaptor, to provide properly filtered oil to the engine - some may even use a staged coarse > fine filter arrangement for endurance racing, possibly with pressure monitoring pre' and post filter(s).

Those paper filters have a huge surface area, so it's possible it flows more than the screen :)

so they are a full flow filter? when using the paper filter is it full flow or bypass? I would guess still bypass to avoid restricting oil flow.
worth mentioning the typical filtering value for an oem bypass style filter is about 20% of flow.
full flow is the advantage for an engine running full load for a few seconds. With the filter not affecting flow volume does oil pressure need to be adjusted?

I change the oil before or after each visit to the track, and the motor is built/minor stroked to 2.7L but presently < 600whp. Would the 4" be sufficient or should I just go for the 6"? everyone forgets about a standard oil filter bypass valve letting unfiltered oil threw it that's the resin you will upon engine tear down the crap/dirty oil scratches bearings crank etc surfaces as the cold dirty oil will make bypass come on and no filtering at that point so change your oil and filter often heck and on the so called long life/high capacity oil pan oil change filter multiple 3to5 times to say 15k miles ant going to hurt or hack a twin filter from a dozer on it lol :]

Worlds best oil filter ?. Perhaps for a dragster. Not if you are concerned with engine wearing abrasives and sludge. The Pontiac 3.4 has nothing in the oil large enough to be removed by tne screen. The micron rating of the WIX XP is somewhere under 40 microns. I dont drag race the the car. Started getting more abrasives than normal in the Jackmaster Classic. Knew it was time to change the WIX.. The Jackmaster Classic is a 1 micron bypass filter. Has no value in a dragster.

Whole point is you can see it after every run or every session. Not have to wait until an oil change where it could be too late. On 1000+hp GT-R or time attack car pushed to the limits, it is good investment.
