A line that haunts me still: At the beginning of the game, in the bathroom the sink, when interacting with it, it says "It's not time to wash your hands."
I wonder what the sink gonna say when you interact with it in chapter 3, since the bird cage that kris used to trap his soul changed the dialogue in chapter 2
Kris HATES the fact that they aren’t in control of their own actions, i think anyone would hate having people think that this is who you are, when it’s something inside of you. But of course, it hurts like hell to take a soul out of you by thrusting your hand into your chest and pull out your soul. So Kris can only take out their soul when no one is around or it’s something’s being loud around him, we don’t know if the soul has been within him since chapter 1, or if it’s been longer than that. But this line seems to insinuate that he regularly uses this sink to drown out his sounds to get rid of his soul, and goes outside for a while from how Toriel says that he does this sometimes when Susie asks what’s taking kris so long.(correct me if i’m wrong about Toriel saying that)
@@somethingdumb3928 Well, in Chapter 2 he DID go slash the car’s tires, and then do the THING, either of his own will or possibly because of literally being controlled at that time by W.D Gaster.
Susie also says something along the lines of “Hey, Kris, wouldn’t it be funny if, like, it was one letter off, so the puzzle was actually impossible? Haha, like to see Berdly try and solve that.” Referencing the original word search. In the room with the floppy disk, the plugface with a bowler hat says something along the lines of “I’ve always supported Queen, so I’m not worried about getting plugged.” When you take the conveyor belt back, he’s not there anymore. At the very end of the room, there’s a Werewire that you can’t encounter, wearing a Bowler Hat.
During your descent into cyber world, you can actually see roulx leaving your inventory. It's a single sparkle effect, the same as the many that fly put of you when you bring lancer and the others to castle towne in the beginning
Not only that, but Lancer directly mentions it if you go to your inventory and select him right after that, as 2 Left Thumbs mentioned. He has a lot of text that most people other than him I've seen haven't bothered reading, apparently
@@kingtesttube4996 Lancer is still affected by the foreign Dark World even whilst he's in your pocket, as in the Weird Route, he never leaves your pocket, yet still ends up as a statue.
The way people react to some of the dialogue options for Kris gives me a strong impression that Kris can interpret our commands as they like, so like telling them to join Berdly they instead say it in a mocking way, saying no triple trucies to noelle she instantly treats it like they're joking so their tone must've been playful, so-on.
Mhm, just like after the spamton neo fight where you can make kris say yes, but they'll say it all strained while if you said no, kris will shout out no, like they're desperatly trying to tell their friends that no, they are not ok.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed just _how much_ Toby used that gasp noise. I spent like a third of the chapter just thinking "wow toby sure likes that noise, huh?" ...To be fair, I also like that noise. :)
I mean it's just Susie's voice. I think it's perfectly reasonable to use a voiceclip when appropriate if you have it available. Barely anything else in the game has actual voiceclips outside of their typing sounds.
Perhaps this was already mentioned, but isn't the Queen's dialogue style referring to the Camel case writing style? For the uninitiated, Camel case is a writing style indicated by every word in a sentence starting with the capital letter, even if it's not a proper noun or the first in the sentence, except for acronyms and phrases intentionally all-caps. It Reads And Writes Like This Example. It's a prevalent writing style in programming, since it helps to distinguish small statements in functions and the like, especially from actual words. ("charTable" vs "chartable") It also doesn't use special characters, like periods and commas, due to those having certain effects, and often causing errors, in real code (in some languages). Queen also has this attribute in her dialogue. It'd make sense, given the Cyber World is based from the computer lab, and it has a lot of stuff about programming.
Another thing I've noticed that I haven't seen being discussed anywhere is that in the Japanese translation of the game, all of Queen's dialogue is inside HTML comments; .
Something I don't remember if you mentioned but I'd like to point out in Ch1 that hinted at Kris' true identity. In the chess area the Darkner with the nostril-eye always referred to Kris as "Horsey" witch bugged the hell outta my friend till I pointed out the "Horse" piece in chess represents The Knight, exactly how Kris is depicted in the Dark Worlds. They were calling you out as early as halfway through Ch1
I’m unsure at this point if Kris really is the Knight. As in, I don’t really think they opened the fountains for chapters 1 and 2. The end of chapter 2 fountain we see them open reads to me as an act of rebellion. They hate being controlled. Their destiny according to the prophecy is to seal the fountains. So it would make sense they would fight their destiny by opening one after Queen and Ralsei put out that anyone with enough determination can create a fountain, while Kris was listening.
@@IceFireofVoid Kris probably did open the previous fountains, since otherwise Kris removing their soul in chapter 1 would only have been to eat a pie, which seems like bad storytelling. Also, the knight being depicted as using a knife to open the dark fountains seems too specific.
Kris and Noelle's interactions in this chapter fascinate me. Given the evidence that the player's will is a separate one from Kris's, it kind of feels like some of those stranger dialogue options with Noelle might be hinting that the player could, potentially, give options that Kris favors a lot more over others. The dog treat one is a really good example of this; if you say "Noooo~" Kris seems like they may be having some fun with that talk, but they sound genuine, just following the player's orders and sounding unnatural if you make them say yes. The "Gosh, why does he look so hurt...?" part *really* sticks out to me too, in that same segment. Enough so that during my first couple of playthroughs I legitimately couldn't figure out why that line of dialogue is even there - why would Kris be upset over a small prank like that, after all? My best theory for that is that Kris looked upset and hurt because the player just forced them to do something *very* dangerous to Noelle. Plenty of backstory tells us that Kris is a crude prankster, but they don't seem malicious or harmful on their own - so could it be that Kris was hurt and scared that the player seemingly just tried to cause actual harm to their longtime friend? I feel like just about every interaction between the two can be dissected like this - you can see how Noelle is feeling written out plain as day, even moreso than the other characters it seems, and that gives you a lot more clues to how Kris is behaving and feeling. I find it all incredibly intriguing.
@@eafesaf6934 We might be able to figure it out over time. I think at least half so far are pretty obvious once we know what to look for, in terms of immediate reactions of the other characters. As well as what others say about Kris in other parts of the game & taking that information forward.
By the way, “Page 142” mentioned by Alphys and read by Berdly in class at the start of the chapter might refer to the room where we get the egg from the man (Gaster?) in ch. 1. “Egg room”, as it is called, is actually room 142.
The songs lancer plays aren't fractions. They're the full thing. Earlier its mentioned by the DJ guys that they only make songs that are 4 seconds long.
The line "No problem here." when interacting with the Berdly statue in the toilet multiple times is a reference to Earthbound. It is used when you check where there's nothing to check
It's gonna be painful, but you get a special interaction by examining Berdly's statue multiple times. In the original room where he first shows it off, Noelle has a few things to say about it. Also I dunno if this counts but when Queen threatens that a certain bird will take a ride on the acid river and her eyes say "True" is she actually referring to the swan boat you and Ralsei ride across the river? The little detail of Ralsei blushing when you stand close enough? It's back and better than ever. :3 You just have to get to the part when Susie follows Berdly into the "Book hole." Lastly once Lancer has turned to stone you can push him around a bit by interacting with him. Push him towards the tables on the left and he'll... be well taken care of.
She totally is, there’s some dialogue if you check the swan boat after crashing into the hand, I don’t remember exactly what it said, but I know it specifically said “certain bird”
There's a funny little sequence you can view after being sent back to the Light World to grab the stuff from the unused classroom; Once you grab the stuff and have it balancing on Kris' head, you can head down the school and see Alphys and Toriel talking. After the initial dialogue, you can call Toriel and even more funny dialogue initiates. This is one discovery I'm very glad I found out on my own. Alphys trying to keep a straight answer is so hilarious to me.
I think he covered that in the first part. Granted I've watched so many of these they're all blending together anyway (although this is the most comprehensive one.... or it will be once it's complete)
Some things I noticed; The room overflowing with showels is simultaneously a reference to DDoS ("dozens and Dozens Of Shovels attack") and shovelware If you talk to spamton in his shop about "The deal" after buying his key gen, you get a short track that parodies unreal superhero 3, with the spamton turning rainbow colors (which could be a reference to a certain YTP, but I'm not sure)
Oh yeah, because Keygens are usually made to crack codes meant for something, usually to pirate software. And in a YTP, the King uses a pirated version of Vegas 9 with a Keygen program. Clicking on it caused him to violently change colors.
I don't know if this counts, but in Chapter One, when you interact with the doors to the computer lab it says "You looked through the window of the computer lab...There seems to be a dog inside working on a computer. ....Seems like when the games finished you can go in...You just have to trust the dog." Which was definitely a reference to where Chapter 2 was going to take place.
@@blazen123 Oh. I guess I just assumed it was obvious. Then again, I haven't really seen too many other people play it after I finished it myself, so that probably doesn't help. Sorry.
Fun fact about 16:56 is that the random squiggle encryption joke is a reference to how you make SSH keys to guard repositories. Typically, while it's being generated, you move your mouse around randomly to generate randomness that the encryption program then uses to make your unique key. The more random and squiggly, the better your key!
When you talk to lancer in castle town at some point early on, he makes a reference to earthbound and this person who sells eggs. "You won't get through your teen years without at least one Egg."
Although incredibly vague I thought the “no problem here” you get while Interacting with the berdly statue in the toilet enough times was also a reference to earthbound
it’s a reference to one of those guys who make the youtube undertale piano tutorials and back in i think 2018 he made a cover of one of undertale’s songs and put „tutoriel” instead of tutorial in the title
23:02 Just to expand on this correlation... one of Berdly's flavor texts in his first battle is: "Berdly crushes his Smart Scouter out of frustration."
Hold up, is Berdley's statue having nipples a reference to Captain Falcon's nipple spike in melee? Berdley himself mentions wavedashing so someone on the team clearly knows melee and Berdley's fight does give me f-zero vibes now that I think about it.
The floppy disk may possibly be a reference to Cave Story, as Toby Fox is a fan of that game, and in it, Saves are red floppy discs that rotate in place (like the npc, just without the limbs)
@@kirbybaker2721 ah I remember I was only able to get that ending on one playthrough and never again. I think I had to restart and get that healing jar item that gives you full health in order to actually get the complete end. Crazy fun though. Cave story is definitely an underrated indie game
Something I haven't really seen ANYONE talk about is the piano at the hospital. In chapter 1, the receptionist asks if you're "here to play the piano again", implying Kris does this fairly regularly. However when you interact with the piano it plays a noise like Kris is just slamming down on the keys. If you talk to the receptionist again, they'll comment on how "you usually play much more beautifully". In chapter 2, Susie seems impressed that you can play piano when you go to interact with it, then laughs and says she should've known you were messing with her when you make the same awful noise. However, she notes that Kris looks *extremely* pissed off. To me, this hints at two possible things: 1) Kris is a good piano player, possibly even quite passionate about it, but the player is not. It pisses Kris off that they can't play the piano while they're being controlled, and it hurts them that Susie now thinks they can't play and were just messing with her. 2) Admittedly more of a reach, but Toby has said that due to his wrist injuries, he was unable to play the piano for a while. It must have been extremely frustrating for him, so it's possible he included this segment as a reference to that...?
there could actually be two references when it comes to the robot face thing the other reference could be to the quite popular Twitch chat robot face due to the fact that both share a striking resemblance to each other
when the hacker says 1 is the biggest prime number, it's likely a reference to how if you include 1 in the list of prime numbers, everything falls apart because all numbers would be composite (like 2 could be 2*1, 2*1*1, 2*1*1*1..., making it no longer prime). For this reason, 1 is excluded from consideration when counting primes, but the hacker (who seems to be the type of person who'd think it cool to not exclude 1) prefers to consider 1 to be the only prime number
Deltarune aside, still hearing about fancy pants, one of my all time fave game series ever since my childhood, brings such an enormous smile to my face. Who could have thought finding a cool channel that talked about my current obsession for the past six years would have brought me all the way back to my first binge-worthy game
its not really confirmed that kris is being controlled, personally i think kris is actually their soul and something else controls them whenever their soul gets ripped out, which i think is why soulless kris limps. also, why would soulless kris slash their own mother's tires and make a dark fountain if the soul was controlling kris? i think whatever is controlling soulless kris actually does influence regular kris sometimes though, even when the soul is still there. thoughts?
@@Amy-si8gq Currently, I'm not really sure any of the combinations (Zombie Kris is the real personality, the possessed personality, another possessed personality etc.) answer all the questions without causing new ones. i.e. if Kris without the soul is the real personality, some of their actions don't really track. They're not mentioned to do anything too malicious or damaging (just kind of creepy, and there's plenty of evidence they're empathic), so slashing the tires and doing something that could end the world doesn't really make sense, for example.
@@lozm4835 i think it could make sense with the fact that to try and regain control of themself they also lose their soul in the process since the player is attached to it, and so they become an empty vessel of sorts with no care in the world or something
@@Amy-si8gq There are some theories of why would Kris do that. There are at least 2 that i believe. One's is up with Mike, as a smile is shown at the end of the game on the tv, and Spamton saying about him, that he is a criminal and we shouldn't believe him. Another theory that kinda make sense, is about Undyne. The only person on the Light World that Kris try to talk about the Dark World is Undyne. What better way to call Undyne in is making so some kinda of psychopath is near Kris house? That can be left for interpretation. Can be one of them, or even both. Maybe Kris wants to defeat Mike with Undyne's help? Or even, the guy Seam was warning? Even then, if Kris wants Undyne in the Dark World, so it means Kris knows of Undyne The Undying, so it means that Kris knows what happend in Undertale, meaning thet, Undertale and Deltarune may have a more serious connection then we expected
There are actually like 3 or 4 different songs in the car honking sound when you listen closely. I think there was floweys theme, undynes theme and another one I couldn't figure out yet
Rooms are based on their Internet search history as seen with Kris and Sussie's room in the Mansion so the same applies to Noelle's. In Noelle's Room, there is "a calender with all Holiday on December circled" probably from "Search queere - December Holiday" implying that time to time Noelle search the Internet for her sister Dess but everytime she search with her full name it's just nothing but "December Holidays". So Dess went missing ?
The red floppy disc is probably a reference to Cave Story's save points, which are red spinning 45° angle floppy discs. This is probably also why they mention saving.
11:35 Kris would rather die than be a puppet for someone else which is actually pretty funny foreshadowing for the Spamton Neo fight (if not for other chapters) 29:24 Kris is hurt because we made them walk off the platform One thing the player has no control over seems to be Kris' tone of voice and facial expressions so from that we can infer how they really feel without our input
Yep, that’s why when Susie is like “are you alright?” After you kill spamton, depending on which option you choose it can either come off as forced or natural
In the overworld at the end of chapter 2, you can talk to the ‘innkeepers child’ by knocking on the door to the left of the dark alley. They ask “if humans are made of bones, where do skeletons come from?” The origins of the skeletons (Sans and Papyrus) is of course an unexplained mystery from Undertale.
20:09 this is so interesting, jacksepticeye was trying to come up with a voice to read their lines as and actually said, "should I use the matthew mconaughey voice?"
the floppy disk is there for a bit more imo, it’s to remind the player that nobody knows what SAVEing is in canon… besides Ralsei when you return to Castle Town.
The intro to "Welcome To The City" contains a leitmotif from 74 (also composed by Toby Fox). 74 features the quote "My *knight* in shining armor, whose courage pushes the *dark* away.", implying greater parallels between it and DR.
For the "Gaming is my life" bit, I think you're misinterpreting that Ralsei is the monotone one instead of Kris- the joke being Ralsei is so impressed by our passion even though Kris's dialogue options are always so neutral and monotone
I think that option refers mostly as us like players. It's a little creepy actually. Like in CH1, when he says (to us) to press Z to push the box, and Susie says "What the f- is Z? Just use your hands, Kris." 👀
not sure if anyone noticed this, but at 28:18 in snowgrave route when noelle offers to hold down the switch instead, you can see her slightly moving wanting to jump off the switch when you pass the gate in an attempt to kill you
1:14 you can actually hear multiple themes within the car honking including Your Best Friend, Spear of Justice, the Temmie Shop/Dogsong, and then Metal Crusher like mentioned.
"Plebidonax deltoides or Donax deltoides is a small, edible saltwater clam or marine bivalve mollusc, endemic to Australia. It belongs to the family of either the Donacidae, or the related Psammobiidae. It is most widely known as the pipi (also spelled pippi, plural pipis or pippies) in the eastern states of its native Australia. In South Australia, it is called the Coorong cockle, Goolwa cockle, or Goolwa pipi, for the region where it is most abundant, or by its Ngarrindjeri name, kuti. In south-eastern Queensland, it is often also known as eugarie or (y)ugari, a borrowing from the local Yugambeh and Ugarapul languages. This species should not be confused with the bivalve Paphies australis (of the family Mesodesmatidae), endemic to New Zealand and also called 'pipi'." _[Taken from Wikipedia]_
26:37 and, if you choose this action during snowgrave, there's a second dialogue choice, one being perfectly fine with what she says, and the other being "Noelle will ride with me", im not sure if being fine with what she says aborts snowgrave.
2:24 Actually, Susie can eat moss aswell. If you go back all the way to the dumpster area with the moss when she and Ralsei join your party again, you eat the moss together. Did this while I was going to find the egg. There's also a chance someone already mentioned this and you included it in the next video that I haven't watched yet, so sorry if you already knew this haha
"How is that possible?" Simple. Chex Quest wasn't just a simple DOOM clone, it actually had honest to god effort put into it. It was a whole full game using the Doom engine that came for FREE with Chex cereal. As for the Sweet K_K song thing? IT's not from Strongbad. It's the Casio VL-1 keyboard's built-in DEMO song, Strongbad just used it, and right in the clip you used it was called demo song too.
@@Darvoth and when you get everyone to dance in the Sweet, K_K, and Cap’n battle, the name for the song when you are all dancing, The name is “when I get happy I dance like this”
I don't know if anyone has found this yet but on a pacifist route where you don't recruit everyone queen has special dialogue about nubert :) *the king also has some extra dialogue too,he's says I left them behind although I got a good ending so I guess It depends if you skip enemies or not
From what I gather, you'll need to recruit all enemies, and I think there are some circumstantial ones that'll require events playing out to catch them (ala touching the Cheese to encounter the Maus, checking the garbage cans to encounter a hidden Poppup, and something else), and there's an optional recruit in the form of the tiny car.
Blue bird of crappyness could be a reference to a scrapped concept from sleeping beauty, which you can see in the special features. Originally in that film, maleficent was going to have a crow that spoke, and at one point the crow would have masqueraded as 'the bluebird of happiness' to fit in with a group of small birds. It's a bit of an obscure reference if so, but it's what jumped out at me
Wrong "Beauty" lol Maleficent is from SLEEPING Beauty. Also funnily enough her crow in the live action movies does talk and have the power to masquerade as things cause they made him a humanoid shapeshifter that mainly takes the form of a crow so it's nice to see that they used that idea eventually
I think the "bluebird of happiness" is a known folklore thing of some sort. I believe there are references to it in various media. But I dont know the details.
Lancer calls Queen a mom when he first appears and frees you, but when talking to Queen and Lancer in Ralsei's castle, he weirdly forgets what a mom is.
In the first part you said that onionsan always calls you hyper potato mouse regardless of your choice in chapter one, but that’s actually not the case, I picked hippopotamus in chapter one and they called me crisper, meaning they actually go with the opposite of your choice. An interesting coincidence considering they shouldn’t theoretically know the other choice. Perhaps this character is more significant than we think…
Also, depending in what mech you made, is what your powerpunch is called in the final battle with Queen. If you had the Laser Head, then its called Laser mode, if the fire one, then its called Fire Mode
tbh makes sense to me since we hear about how her mother is hard on her, if its on like abuse levels. people w abuse tend to gravitate towards what's familiar without therapy
@@bosstrash8461 Eh, I don't fully believe that Noelle's mother is super harsh. Neglectful, definitely, but a lot of her stresses comes from being the mayor. Not many people can derive pleasure running a town, even one as small as Hometown. That's why Rudy is being the way he is, acting as the proper counterbalance in the marriage. Now if we meet her in person and she's just 100% rude all the time, then it'd be a bit more justified. As for Noelle herself, she can easily develop BSDM/SM kinks as a way to deal with the overwhelming pressures. And I can easily see that happening in fanon, though not likely in canon.
During the first mouse puzzle, if you move forward, it's possible to force Noelle to follow you. You even get the option to tell her to "Proceed," just like in the Snowgrave route. Even if you hadn't frozen anyone.
fun fact: with a bit of work you can actually get space cadet pinball in versons after xp all the way up to windows 11 32bit computers require no changes, you can just use a installer if its 64bit it needs small tweaking but it works close to perfectly The only reason it was removed was due to style differences between windows vista and windows xp and microsoft not having the licence to make changes (and probably not wanting to waste resources)
I can't remember if it was addressed in the other video, but whenever Susie does her shocked pose (ex: Noelle walks up to Kris and Susie as they're about to get to the closet) it's very similar to Iyami's "SHEEH" pose from Osomatsu-kun/Osomatsu-san.
idk if you’ve mentioned it, but just a fun little easter egg ive found: when i first saw the tree with the hint of the room in between, i had thought that there was a secret room in cyber world. i had no idea how to get to the egg room in either chapters, so i thought this would lead to it because some of the walls have what look like doors on them. so thinking one of them was actually a room i started interacting with them. it turns out, there is actually one you can interact with. you just knock and the flavor text says you found the only real door. it was nothing much but i thought it was funny. i’m pretty sure it was in the same area as the annoying dog car easter egg but i don’t really remember lol
I appreciate it that you put a timer whenever you "advertise" a project of some sort in these videos, no other UA-camr I've watched does that and just expects the viewers to sit through it till the end. Nice extra detail for the viewers who may be wondering how much longer till the in-video ad is over
I think Corridor Crew were the first I ever saw do it! Sometimes with contracts, I can't actually include a timer. But whenever it is me plugging something of my own, and not a paid sponsorship - then I like to include the timer :)
28:09 interacting with the statue and it saying no problem here is also an Earthbound reference as that happens when you interact with most things in the world
Well given that they are long childhood friends who practically grew up with one another my good Interpretation of Krises "we are something else" would be "we are like siblings" wich shurely is something else from only friends and gives them both a much deeper bond without making is romantic in someway or another.
In your room that queen made you, instead of dropping Lancer, if you call your phone several times, Susie well bring it up (different dialogue depending on how many times you do it) Btw the dialogue happens when your still in the cage.
I know this isn't a music channel, but I haven't seen anyone else talk about it yet: Welcome to the City (and it's Alt) both have a leitmotif (musical cue) from Toby Fox's song "74". When I first heard it it drove me crazy because of how familiar it was. I thought the tune originated from Undertale at first but I couldn't place it until I remembered the lyrics and the realization hit me like a baseball bat.
4:48 That "Robot" face is also a poorly draw version of the "Chat smile" emote on twitch. 18:34 "Minecrap" is also a reference to an old youtube video, I think it was called "Minecraft with inspector gadget."
The blue checkmark saying “Your adventure is just beginning.” could be another Earthbound reference to Frank from Onett when telling Ness his adventure is just beginning.
7:16 plot twist: the creepy un-krislike voice is Lancer speaking from inside Kris' inventory Also, 15:25 is a reference to the joke later when Berdy reveals he's not so smart, he mentions he can never remember the number between 2 and 4
If you go through chapter 2 without talking to Seam, he'll have new dialogue when you ask him about the crystals. The way it's phrased makes it seem like fighting Jevil isn't necessary to obtain the first Shadow Crystal, but I'm not sure.
His dialogue refers to the fact that you can replay chapter 1 by loading a save, defeat jevil, and then go to the hole to the left of the dark castle town to find the shadow crystal and item that jevil gives you when you defeat him. He says something like "You might just remember doing (blah blah blah) and find something very close to you.." which is just to say, check the hole after you defeat jevil in chapter 1.
I swear the peanuts dancing reference is actually a secret double reference to MOTHER as there are two characters in the orginial MOTHER that resemble peanuts characters.
When you fall down to the second dark world you can see a little sparkle fall out of your pocket, like when you bring everyone back to the first dark world, so I believe the white sparkle thing is rouxls jumping out
Not an Easter egg, but a glitch I found accidentally when taking the stuff to the Dark World after Ralsei requested it. I was spamming C (for some reason) and I assume that there's a point between the jumping into the Dark World cutscene and the cutscene that happens where the Dark World Castle Town is made where you can enter your inventory.
13:20 a 1 in 100 chance of something I experienced on my first attempt of the puzzle during my second playthrough of the game (although both my first and second aren't done yet and are at the exact same point in the game)
Nubert is actually based on the TrackPoint-style pointer devices sometimes found in laptop keyboard. It's a little rubber nub sandwiched in between some keys on the keyboard. By pushing it with your finger, you can control the mouse pointer without a mouse or touchpad. Something to bring up in the next episode, possibly: A friend of mine brought up the theory that Spamton NEO's body actually represents the final boss of the videogame Asriel was making at home (see: giant rainbow wings, and being a Lightner's abandoned dream). If this is true, it easily explains why that boss in particular got such a reaction from Kris.
I think Asriel's creation is supposed to be a reference to his UNDERTALE counterpart's God of Hyperdeath form, not Mettaton NEO. Maybe we'll be seeing it get a Dark World version in Chapter 3?
19:10 that song in deltarune is actually called 'when i get mad i dance like this' which also seems to be a reference to what the guy in homestar runner says before he plays the song. another cool bit is that the song that plays during the 'everybody is dancing' scene is called 'when i get happy i dance like this', which seems to be a play on the other songs title.

When you interact with the sink in Rudy's hospital room, he asks if you're practicing...
for your handwashing marathon.

I like the idea that Kris has at least some free will while we're in control.
Hmm proceed
At least Kris has some freedom, making sure their friends know they’re not actually being a jerk to them by changing up their tone!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed just _how much_ Toby used that gasp noise. I spent like a third of the chapter just thinking "wow toby sure likes that noise, huh?"
...To be fair, I also like that noise. :)
I mean it's just Susie's voice. I think it's perfectly reasonable to use a voiceclip when appropriate if you have it available. Barely anything else in the game has actual voiceclips outside of their typing sounds.

Toby said that Susie’s laugh was just someone sneezing in the livestream (2:21:45)
“It’s actually someone sneezing.”
I didn't realise that lol that's cool!
I literally thought she was just like that I didn't think there was a connection like that!!?
Good catch! I never picked up on that even though I'm a big fan of CamelCase myself
I used to write like that and I didn’t know it had a specific name
SMART
And egg in wingdings is a knights pattern in chess
Theres so many layers to it
I’m unsure at this point if Kris really is the Knight.
People, kris’ outfit is literally that of a night. That’s probably what’s getting referenced
I find it all incredibly intriguing.
this is actually a good theory

Also I dunno if this counts but when Queen threatens that a certain bird will take a ride on the acid river and her eyes say "True" is she actually referring to the swan boat you and Ralsei ride across the river?

To me, this hints at two possible things:
1) Kris is a good piano player, possibly even quite passionate about it, but the player is not. It pisses Kris off that they can't play the piano while they're being controlled, and it hurts them that Susie now thinks they can't play and were just messing with her.
2) Admittedly more of a reach, but Toby has said that due to his wrist injuries, he was unable to play the piano for a while. It must have been extremely frustrating for him, so it's possible he included this segment as a reference to that...?

when the hacker says 1 is the biggest prime number, it's likely a reference to how if you include 1 in the list of prime numbers, everything falls apart because all numbers would be composite (like 2 could be 2*1, 2*1*1, 2*1*1*1..., making it no longer prime). For this reason, 1 is excluded from consideration when counting primes, but the hacker (who seems to be the type of person who'd think it cool to not exclude 1) prefers to consider 1 to be the only prime number

29:23 probably another example of ”kris really not liking being controlled by someone else.”, similar to what happens with the piano at the hospital.
its not really confirmed that kris is being controlled, personally i think kris is actually their soul and something else controls them whenever their soul gets ripped out, which i think is why soulless kris limps. also, why would soulless kris slash their own mother's tires and make a dark fountain if the soul was controlling kris? i think whatever is controlling soulless kris actually does influence regular kris sometimes though, even when the soul is still there.

Rooms are based on their Internet search history as seen with Kris and Sussie's room in the Mansion so the same applies to Noelle's.

I think there's a bit of "Your Best Friend" in there too.
Also, depending in what mech you made, is what your powerpunch is called in the final battle with Queen. If you had the Laser Head, then its called Laser mode, if the fire one, then its called Fire Mode
duck one is 'sucky mode' lol
(and no that wasn't a typo)
Did... Did Noelle just all but confirm she likes Susie degrading her?
in chapter one if you tell her susie is mean she'll say something about susie pushing her into lockers
tbh makes sense to me since we hear about how her mother is hard on her, if its on like abuse levels. people w abuse tend to gravitate towards what's familiar without therapy
Noelle has an humiliation kink confirmed
*[Susie killed me]
*LUCKY
*[Noelle I don’t think you understand-]
*I UNDERSTAND THAT THATS [Hot]
*[Noelle I’m literally dead, you’re insane]
28:07 "No problem here." is a reference to EarthBound, if you interact with something unimportant, the message will show up.
The monitors queen pulls down when they talk about world domination has the smiley face that is usually associated with chara or flowey
During the first mouse puzzle, if you move forward, it's possible to force Noelle to follow you. You even get the option to tell her to "Proceed," just like in the Snowgrave route. Even if you hadn't frozen anyone.
27:21 How did I never notice the “Divorcing Shoes”? That’s too funny
1:22 you forgot that if you wait a bit longer you can also hear flowey's theme and undyne's too!!!
fun fact: with a bit of work you can actually get space cadet pinball in versons after xp all the way up to windows 11
32bit computers require no changes, you can just use a installer
if its 64bit it needs small tweaking but it works close to perfectly
The only reason it was removed was due to style differences between windows vista and windows xp and microsoft not having the licence to make changes (and probably not wanting to waste resources)
The Shadow Mantle that Seam mentions might be the cloak that flies (literally) away from the King at the end of the fight in Chapter One
I can't remember if it was addressed in the other video, but whenever Susie does her shocked pose (ex: Noelle walks up to Kris and Susie as they're about to get to the closet) it's very similar to Iyami's "SHEEH" pose from Osomatsu-kun/Osomatsu-san.
idk if you’ve mentioned it, but just a fun little easter egg ive found: when i first saw the tree with the hint of the room in between, i had thought that there was a secret room in cyber world. i had no idea how to get to the egg room in either chapters, so i thought this would lead to it because some of the walls have what look like doors on them. so thinking one of them was actually a room i started interacting with them. it turns out, there is actually one you can interact with. you just knock and the flavor text says you found the only real door. it was nothing much but i thought it was funny. i’m pretty sure it was in the same area as the annoying dog car easter egg but i don’t really remember lol
i never knew the day that minecraft with gadget would be canon in deltarune
The amount of detail and little things Toby puts in the game is unreal
Man is speedrunning deltarune chapter 2 and it came out a week ago
Truly the embodiment of the kromer male
I appreciate it that you put a timer whenever you "advertise" a project of some sort in these videos, no other UA-camr I've watched does that and just expects the viewers to sit through it till the end. Nice extra detail for the viewers who may be wondering how much longer till the in-video ad is over
I think Corridor Crew were the first I ever saw do it!
Sometimes with contracts, I can't actually include a timer. But whenever it is me plugging something of my own, and not a paid sponsorship - then I like to include the timer :)
28:09 interacting with the statue and it saying no problem here is also an Earthbound reference as that happens when you interact with most things in the world
When ralsei starts explaining what the roaring was, the cutscene shows titans that look very much like asgore and the god of hyperdeath
Well given that they are long childhood friends who practically grew up with one another my good Interpretation of Krises "we are something else" would be "we are like siblings" wich shurely is something else from only friends and gives them both a much deeper bond without making is romantic in someway or another.
18:47 this completely passed by me while playing through its so cool seeing strongbad getting a reference!
In your room that queen made you, instead of dropping Lancer, if you call your phone several times, Susie well bring it up (different dialogue depending on how many times you do it)
Btw the dialogue happens when your still in the cage.
Ralsei: Hey look, it's the Hacker.
Hacker: It's *THE* Hacker to you!
1:10 the whole song is a reference as before that it has your best friend, dogsong, and spear of justice
The second Minecrap example is from the Snowgrave route, as Spamton gets into the mansion himself since you're killing everyone who could stop him
I think the floppy disk thing at 20:15 might also be a Cave Story reference; its save points are specifically red, spinning floppy disks.
These videos of yours are extremely enjoyable to watch. It really shows that you put a lot of work into them. Looking forward to whatever you make!
7:16 plot twist: the creepy un-krislike voice is Lancer speaking from inside Kris' inventory
Also, 15:25 is a reference to the joke later when Berdy reveals he's not so smart, he mentions he can never remember the number between 2 and 4
If you go through chapter 2 without talking to Seam, he'll have new dialogue when you ask him about the crystals.
28:54
Noelle: “You should have seen the look on your face!”
Kris: 🗿
I swear the peanuts dancing reference is actually a secret double reference to MOTHER as there are two characters in the orginial MOTHER that resemble peanuts characters.
Yeah, it's a fitting reference since Earthbound was inspired by Peanuts and Undertale was inspired by Earthbound
@@rattyeely oh god the references go deeprr
12:00 If you look at Ralsai's sprite you can see him blush when you choose bosom
When you fall down to the second dark world you can see a little sparkle fall out of your pocket, like when you bring everyone back to the first dark world, so I believe the white sparkle thing is rouxls jumping out
3:05 lies, Space Cadet was never preinstalled on Windows 95 or 98, it was packaged with NT 4.0, 2000, Me and XP.
13:20
a 1 in 100 chance of something I experienced on my first attempt of the puzzle during my second playthrough of the game (although both my first and second aren't done yet and are at the exact same point in the game)
The moss in the minifridge is an option to eat on the ferris wheel!
