That looks like an amazing project.❤
I hope it works out!!
Love the truck, look forward to the build, and great informative video, been wanting to do this build for a while, thank you . 👍
Glad it was useful. Thanks for watching!
Great video, looking forward to seeing this build.
Thanks!! Hoping to jump on it soon!
Can’t wait to see the swap! Awesome job Dave! Love watching the videos!
Yes sir! You can come over and help!
@@madgingercustoms I’m definitely down to help! That’s gonna be a cool project!
I have a 3inch similar to that for narrow flat bar, and 3/8 rod, but I've only been using round bar, across, thanks for sharing, the tips, all the best to you and your loved ones
We built a rob bar/flat bar bender that we use for that type of thing but I can certainly see how this would also work. Check out that video if you tool builds!
Very interesting. Something I like to build as well
Works decent. Need to bleed the press. Not a large investment.
Recently bought the same 20T HF press, and considered the SWAG brake kit ($$$) !!!
Going your way - have all the metal on hand except 1/2” x 4” bar, but that’s ordered and on the way.
Great build - thanks!!!
Awesome!! Thanks for checking it out!
Cool idea. 😊
Thanks!! I just looked at others available and tried to mimic.
Oh…. and between you and Puddin’ my other HF gamble (36” bending brake) is on the mod schedule, before it’s even out of the splintery packing crate.
Thanks once again…
Just being honest, that brake doesn't work great out of the box. LOL
Oh yeah baby ! Now cooking with oil. International grilled cheese sandwich will top this project. Go for it !!! Good to hear from ya.
Glad you're excited to see this! Should be a ton of work but I'm excited!
Anyone that doesn't love that truck needs their eyes examined and the Grand Marquis amalgamation is an awesome idea. I look forward to seeing more of this project
I hope I can pull this off and make it as awesome as it is in my mind!
I have seen a few people do that swap on Ford trucks. It is not the roomiest. Those seats take up a lot of room. We did a 72 Ford and grafted the CV firewall to get the AC into the truck. It needed a console built but it looked and worked pretty good. It’s on our channel.
I'll go check it out! Thank you!
Looking forward to the International build! Learned to drive a stick in my grand-dad's truck (forget what year, because that was 50 years ago). But honestly, I hate to see the Merc sacrificed. Those Panther bodies were damned good cars, and getting harder to find... I got 450K out of a '94 Vic driving it hard as hell in Texas. She'd run more than an hour just under the cutout speed (100?) the day I parked it, running the air-con, using no oil, but the transmission (and just about everything else) were pretty much shot. The sum of all those part$ warranted a newer commuter so OFF to the scrapyard she went.
I'm hoping this merc serves us well. It's got 208k on it but seems to run and shift ok.
Love them old binders, they were as tough as the back wall in a shooting gallery 😊
Yeah, this thing is a tank. Hoping this goes ok!!
Missourians are the source of all problems, so it's fine😂😂😂😂 Sounds like a cool build, good luck.
Lol thanks
Wow, the car/truck project will be a big job but I'm thinking it will be a real head turner when your done.
I'm hoping!! I think we need to make this one a bit nicer lol.
We made something similar at work but not as fancy lol ours doesn’t have the slide pins and we used a angle iron instead of the flat plate just put a flat iron on the angle iron to strengthen it but ours works for what we use it for I’m sure it will work good for you it turned out good. Looking forward to the new project that will be sweet if everything works out as planned 😃
We just started it. It's a struggle already! Lol
Def been wanting to make one of them then do a air over hydraulic cylinder
If I can't straighten out my cylinder I'll run the air/hydraulic one as well.
Good job on the press. I’d rather have the International as is than cut it up, but that’s me. I do watch Casey’s channel, mostly in horror.
Casey does some cool different stuff. A lot of it is for shock value I'm sure.
I built something very similar about a year ago. It works great. I mounted the blade on the press. I like your design better with springs. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for checking it out!
Hey Dave was wondering if you could put a couple set screws on the collar you welded on top of the press bar so you could tighten it the the press bar so when you release the jack the press bar would come back up?This is a great idea and it would come in handy 😊
Yeah, I may go in that direction if the springs don't work well. Thanks!!
That is going to be a great build! I look forward to the videos!
Thanks!!
I’m amazed you could do all that work in zero time. 7:43 start, 7:43 finish. Dave listen to your dad, put some batteries in the clock.😵💫 Nice job on the press brother.👍👍🇨🇦
Are you timing my builds??? Lol. Now it's a race! I'll get the batteries changed.
Hey Dave it’s ok that it’s not all there, neither are we 😊👍👍🇨🇦
Never a truer statement!
@@madgingercustoms loven the channel, an early subscriber.👍🇨🇦
Fun but a lot of work to conjoin those two !
Nice project!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Good build.
Thanks!!
FYI Once you get your pilot hole drilled with take it out and replace with a cheapy so you don't take a chance of the holesaw catching and bending your good bit
That's a good idea! Thanks!
20+ years as an electrician I destroyed many drill bits before I got a piece of rod the right size to replace the bit after the center hole was drilled@@madgingercustoms
I was thinking it might be a good idea to weld some 1x1 or similar to the blade, because I could see it bending from flat with 1/4". I might have to build one of these when I build my plasma table.
That's a great idea. Thanks!
This mating of a truck and car will be interesting... you should get a subscriber to help you with it or keep jess company
I think that's a job for a #1 fan! 😂
I feel as long as the subscriber likes hockey, Jess is game.
Awesome work! Plan on building one for my harbor freight press someday. For how little I use my tools I can’t justify buying a swag.
The swag unit is nice but I'm in the same boat.
Hey Dave,
Rather simple project that will not get used a lot.
But when you need that heavy iron bent, you will be so glad you made it !
I am looking forward to the birth of the Intmerc.
Or the Mercnational.
I helped a friend do that with a 59 Ford pick up and an LTD, it was a task to be sure.
I like that you want to retain the Merc interior.
Why not have comfort and style.
You will notice that the Int. Has thicker, stronger sheet metal than the Merc.
Here in the middle of Kansas we are having 50 degree days this week, come on Spring !
Take Care
Oh yeah, that corn binder is built like a tank!
Again THANKS! And I love the donor car.
Thanks for checking it out!!
Super cool Dave!! I may try to make one as well!! Looking forward to the international build!!! Just finished editing Sunday's video. Let's just say it's a "Will it run" on a Y-Block!!
Everyone loves a will it start!!
I love these tools upgrade mod videos, hey can you show me how to turn my Yesweldert 135 into a 3 in 1 laser welder?
Man, if I could that would be something!
Ok Dave, this should be a good one. Will the Jess be involved? 😊
Of course. We are relying on her for the heavy lifting!
Great video.looking forward to the truck video .
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Space it up so you don't runout of jack. Don't blame the tool.
It had plenty of stroke to do the 1/8 therefore it would have plenty of stroke to do the 1/4. I think it just needs to be bled. I added oil.
I love your videos. I have a Speedway series 20 ton press, that I just did the air over hydraulic conversion to. I need to build one of these. What springs did you use, or order? Great work. Keep it up. Thanks!
Unfortunately the springs that I ordered didn't work at all. I haven't ordered anything else yet. I need to look at the McMaster catalog or something similar.
those new saws look just like the porter cable i had 15 years ago they weren't very popular back then wonder if they bought the rights when porter cable was gone the new ones look just like the old porter cable
It really saves time. I have a Milwaukee abrasive saw as well but never use it anymore.
I would like to see how you bolstered the press itself to handle “pressing”. Mine is “all over the place” and very dangerous to use. So it just sits in my shop.
Mine seems very stable. Is yours the 20 ton? I haven't modified the press itself.
I could use a welder.
I don't have a tig welder
These Arccaptain units have been really good. No complaints.
More shoe box please 🙏
What would you like to see done on the Shoebox? What interests you?
Are you going to raffle it off like Casey?
Casey did that when he reached 100,000 subs. I can do that. Yes.
👍🏻🇦🇺
Thanks again for checking us out!
So many times I'd see young soldiers blasting holes with a drill and smoking drill bits. Then I'd get another bit and slowly drill out the hole, showing them that faster isn't better (and that drill bits cost money and time). Old hands please teach the young generation that drills and saws, anything that cuts, uses a tempered cutting edge, and that once the metal turns blue the temper is gone and the tool is now shot. I mean it might cut hot butter, but it would take some effort.
Yup, slow, more pressure. Cool bit as you go.
Would you do if you can get one for me?
Get you a welder? I don't make that Vice Grip Garage money! Lol
Hey, you don't have to worry about me. I just, I'm disability. I have no money at all. I'm not load and no budget at all.
Delete all😂😂😂❤❤❤😂
WHAT? Somebody said the International was ugly? 🤷♂️
I know right! She's a beaut!!
