I had a 1976 F-250 with the 390 motor, That was a good running and powerful motor at the time! Made a great trunk for my little construction company! I sure miss the old days when you could work on the trunk and it was very easy to fix just about anything back then!
Yeah, I agree. Trucks today are so overcomplicated and expensive to fix. It's getting out of hand. I love the simplicity of these old trucks.
@@ProjectTimeGarage I think if you started to make the old trunks again they would sell Like Hot Cakes! Maybe somebody might take my advice!
A really good looking Dent Side 74'! Me, I'm into the 1972 Bump Side F-Series. Got 2 1972s a F-100 long bed and a F-250 Camper Special. The F100 is a perfectly clean parts truck cuz she's haunted... back in the 90's I'd get the truck running a wierd crap would break or fail, the previus owner had the same issues!
My 1972 F-250 Camper Special has the original H code 390 W/ a C6 that I'm pulling out and replacing with a 1995 5.8/351 Windsor and 5 speed. FE's have never been a favorite motor for me, but this one ran great till the day I parked it in 2004 :) 6mpgs was the best she'd do... Need her more like 12 to 18mpgs and the engine swap will get that. So I have a complete, now a good builder 390 that will be up for sale, Free! But you got to take the C6 with it :)
I love the bumpsides too, especially the dashes. I like the wide speeometer and the ignition on the left side. Check out the '67 F100 with the 352 and 3 on-the-tree that we did a ressurection on. It's on ,y channel here: ua-cam.com/play/PLXuXP0jVIkIYfyJNdsEVHvupFJS9hkfA5.html
And it would kinda neat for you to have a dentside Ford truck and a bumpside Ford truck for a pair of project trucks on the channel lol
I actually did have a video or 2 on a 67 bumpside.
New plugs would probably be in order after running rich for a while. Probably a bit fouled, but an Italian tune up maybe enough! 😂
Yep new plugs and an I-Talian tuneup would probably help.
That is a sweet old rig
Thank you sir. She needs some work, but we'll get it done.
I noticed when you were initially starting the truck there was some spark jumping around the distributor.
Oh, great catch. I didn't notice, but that would cause running problems.
I caught that too and was coming to comment when I seen yours. More than likely the issue.
Buckshot mudders, best old style mud tire
Yeah, love the old-skool tires.
Blue smoke, is oil. Black smoke, is gas
Heavy, White smoke, is water.
Yeah, problem is that it's so hard to tell if it's blue or grey/black. My mind wants it to be grey/black but it's probably blue.
Check your ignition coil
I had the same line of thinking.
Or maybe you need to clean out the spark plugs and burn the gas and oil off of them with some brake kleen and wire brush them and put them back in the truck maybe it will run better....
Yep
