In my opinion, I liked it. Yes I've read ALL the comments on this video. Yes I did hear a few off-key notes which is a normal thing that can happen in any live performance. after the video, I searched every singer (besides Joey Tempest since I already know who he is N' he N' Kee are the reason I came to this video) N' they don't sound bad on their own songs. Idk why but I'm not bothered by the off-key notes. It depends if they talked a lot or sang a lot that week since as a singer, I always rest my voice before a performance or for a day since having a tired voice can make it hard to sing N' depends on the weather. Sometimes the weather can make your voice feel dry N' if the singer did warm his/her voice up before the take. I wonder if this was shot in 1 take cause if it was then that probably explains it N' if it was early in the morning or late in the night. Maybe afternoon. 🤷♀️ I'd imagine all the smell of hairspray probably did make it a little hard to breathe. Question: If your willing to re listen the video. Live version or Studio version. I prefer the studio version but liked the nature of live singing voices. The track was playback.
good song, great solo from Kee, some of the vocals were very bad, you can see that Joey would go on to something big, not only he sang well, but he also led the team nicely
I was assuming he was already very famous when this was recorded. They’ve obviously given him a position of prominence. He does have the best voice out of all of the soloists. Most of them couldn’t sing on key. I’m not impressed with this repetitive and boring song, but I did enjoy watching it. Love me some 80s hair bands. Of course, I don’t know anyone in this group except for superstar, Joey Tempest. ❤
He was already very famous with Europe in 1985. My room's walls were covered in his posters and my pencil case had his name etched all over. I was 11 😅
He's easily the strongest vocalist here. It's just odd that no one else from Europe seems to be in this video. I do see Kee, but he wasn't in the band at this point. John Norum's sister is here, but I don't see John.
Actually you fucking twat I am 52...I am in disbelief how something i MISSED SO UNBELIEVABLY GAY and musically horrendous... It is like a train wreck with good intentions..
All those people in one room and nobody raised their hand to say "Hey guys, this song is total shit. Let's start from scratch and at least try to make an effort."
At 1:34 you’ll see Tommy Nilsson, who’s had a 40+ year long career and is actually a great singer. He had a few minor hits internationally, like the 1981 No Way No How. He also did a Swedish duet with Tone Norum, who’s in this. Tone is sister to guitarist John Norum from Europe and she also had a few minor English hits in the 80’s, on top of being every Swedish 80’s boy’s crush then - she hung on posters in every teenage room, including mine. 😊 Check her “Stranded” out for some of her early stuff - a song written by Joey Tempest. Little known fact was that it was actually destined for Europe, but Joey gave it to Tone. And if you look closely at the Stranded video, it seems to me that the bassist in that is the same guy that sings the first line in this. Which would explain why it’s so terrible. 😂
Jeez. 1. The amount of hairspray in this video is astonishing. Sponsors shouldn't have been far. Reminds me of soul glow from the movie 'Coming to America' 2. The amount of crooked notes is also astonishing. Why did'nt they produce it a little bit? 3. The amount of not plugged in solo guitars is also astonishing. in total: WTF
What was that silly guitar solo when Sweden had Yngwie Malmsteen and John Norum who happened to be childhood buddies? What a wasted opportunity. And that poor girl with the black hair must have been a producer’s daughter because she had no business to be there lol. And, of course, Joey Tempest’s vocals were flawless.
Nice song, always listened to it in my infancy when my dad played it over the little cassette tape. Has some resemblance to the legendary 'we are the world' song.
