My childhood was extremely unhappy, but I remember having joy watching you skate! When they announced you were next I was so excited because you were the best, you put on such an amazing show and I would wait with eyes glued to the screen waiting on your backflip! I seem to remember a time when backflips were not allowed, but you did it anyways for your fans, and you lost points for it if I remember correctly? I wasn't a Christian then, but I am now and I'm so happy to call you my brother in Christ! If I never meet you in this life, I know I will someday! God bless you and your family, I'm lifting you up in prayer and thanking God for men like you who love the Lord!
I've always loved Scott Hamilton's personality - how wonderful to know that He serves the Master. His story was a great encouragement to a friend of mine (father of 5 boys still in the home) who is also suffering from a brain tumor but who found the Lord through it all. Scott's story made him cry.
We serve an awesome God, Master Designer of Heaven and Earth and that is in it, on it and over it....and us. So happy that you know the Redeemer, and answered His call. God bless you, Scott, and keep you safe always. Happy that you are my brother in Christ😀 and you will be in my prayers as will your sweet family.
Thank you for sharing your story. I did watch you skate some years ago and enjoyed it, never would I have guessed your life trauma, you rosed above it, very inspirational. God bless
I'm 54. I remember the skating, and it inspired me to skate at age 10. We lived in Jersey, and I looked forward all year to the ponds and lakes freezing so us kids could go skate. It was the most fun I ever had. God bless you!
Scott, you will always be remembered for your joy, grace and talent shared on ice. I was blessed to have had a front row seat to see you skate. I am doubly blessed by your sharing on I Am Second.
Paul Wiley, Scott Hamilton, Janet Lynn, all Giants of the faith in figure skating! Thank you for your wonderful testimony Scott! I will continue to pray for you!
Wow! This video is such a beautiful example of how God can bring a greater good from anything!!! I grew up watching this remarkably talented man skate and followed him through all of his health struggles and was always amazed at his composure and strength of character though out his career and because of that he was such a source of inspiration to me! I even got to meet him in passing on day in 1999(I think) while I was connecting to a flight in Chicago Airport and quietly went up to him and asked if I could shake his hand and told him how much of an inspiration he had been to me and he was as humble and as down to earth as ever! I am so Thankful that he is sharing his testimony with the world! Scotty Hamilton You are truly a Blessing! Thank you for allowing God to you use you and your amazing talents to make this world a better place an win people to Christ! P.S. I especially loved the part where Scott said that the ONLY TRUE DISABILITY is a BAD ATTITUDE! Amen to that!
If there was a love button I would have clicked it instead of like, thank you for sharing the miraculous love and power that our God put into your life! Listening to you tell your story is truly truly inspiring!
Extraordinary testimony Scott--it stands the test of time---I keep coming back to it over the years and sharing with others. God bless you and your family forever. Amen.
I remember watching him in the Olympics and seeing his excitement as he got closer to winning. I knew about the testicular cancer, but not the brain tumors. God bless him. And that nurse. I've had angels show up a couple of times. It's a very gracious feeling when you realize who they were.
"I LOVE YOU SCOTTIE". I used to yell this from the stands as my mom and I watched you at Stars On Ice. Can't wait to yell it again during the Alaskan Cruise July 2014. Thanks for your testimony. As one of "five out of six" in my immediate family with cancer (my dad and my sister have already passed) I know the power and strength of a relationship with God. He is good ALL the time :-)
Bumped into Scott again in Whole Foods yesterday and he is such a good guy. All kinds of folks recognize him and he is always gracious and approachable. Bless you Scott.
My pastor Max Lucado is doing a teaching on knowing your inheritance in God through Christ. I know there are a lot of Christians who think it's not right to ask God for something but as children of the King we have that gift of being able to.
Scott, I was there in 1984 when you won the gold and was sitting with the Canadian hockey team as they joined me in cheering you on in your performance. You made me so proud to be an American and one of the most emotional moments of my life was when you took the stage and they played the Star Spangled Banner as our flag rose above the others. Brandon and Sheryl shared this as we have been going through a trying time ourselves and I must say that you make me so proud to be a follower of Jesus.
Thank you for your powerful testimony, Scott. You have always been a favorite celebrity of mine throughout your career. I even had the opportunity to see you perform live in Great Falls, MT many years ago. I've had two husbands die of brain cancer. I remarried a wonderful Christian man with multiple health issues including prostate cancer for which he takes periodic chemotherapy and is continually monitored. We depend upon the LORD to see us through each day and delight in His promises. The best is yet to come!
Scott Hamilton wondered why people loved to watch him skate, yes he was good but so were other's. What set him apart was the love and joy he felt when he was on the ice. Even though he wasn't aware of it at the time, people saw that special light that only comes from God shining through him and they wanted more. They didn't know what it was they just knew it was there in him. It was later in life that he found it for himself. I have watched him through the years and had prayed that he would find God if he already hadn't. So he could understand and see what we were seeing all those years shining through him when he skated on the ice.
Truly inspiring. It breaks my heart to hear you say you consider yourself more famous for your health problems than your successes on the ice. At least for me, that's not true. :) I remember you - when I was growing up as a little girl - for your inspirational smile, fantastic and creative performances, and of course that legendary backflip! All the same, I'm so sorry for all of the health problems and scares you experienced in your life. Thank you for taking the time to share your God moments with us. You continue to inspire people every day through your strength.
Thank you for sharing this powerful, crazy testimony! And this: "The only real disability in life is a bad attitude!" I've always appreciated your gift. Now I really appreciate you!

We take so long to GET IT Right! Scott there's always a plan for you. However, I don't envy your struggles. Love you much~ Pray for you more
Thank you for that uplifting testimony Scott. I am going through such a rough time right now with having had uterine cancer and to now the threat of being homeless. I have AlwAys prayed to God and despite everything I thank him for everything in my life. I have never asked for anything , but as of today I will change my way of praying. I honestly think if I pray for the right things and ask God to open doors and put the right people in my life , that I can definitely move forward and rise up with God's help.
Amazing! I grew up watching him, and always loved the joy and light heartedness he carried. I am happy to hear he has found Jesus. Thank you, Scott, for sharing your story. I loved the statement: The only true disability in life is a bad attitude. Wow!!
Im a breast cancer survivor and God healed me and know i am currently living with multiple cancers and its amazing to see God's grace and strength in our ives.. This video has helped my famiky especially my cousin thank yu sooo much for having Joy that only comes from God... God bless you and thank you
Oh no Scott. I am from New Zealand and I am SURE there are many others who remember you in your skating hey-day. You were a joy to watch on the ice - as were othersI used to watch such as Torvill and Dean.
What a great testimony. Thanks for sharing. Scott you've had lots of prayers before the Throne of Grace for many years. God is so good and it's great to hear about when God has answered prayers!
Thank you, Scott, for your testimony! You really encourage me. Thank you, too, for keeping skating pure. Wish you were still skating! & w/all the skaters, Hollywood actors, etc. who've come out as gay, please stay true to your faith! The Bible says we should accept them as people, but we don't have to condone their actions. We must love them & pray for them. God bless you, Scott & all your family too!
I wonder if your mom ever told you the story of the pebble in the pond? When a pebble is thrown into a still pond droplets of water "jump " up and then fall on the water creating rings. Those rings radiate out and touch all of the other rings until the rings reach the farthest edge of the pool. Every time we do something we are that pebble and our actions affect everyone , many times people we will never meet. Scott Hamilton is not only a pebble but a boulder because he had touched so many people in so many ways. We have all been blessed by the pebbles and stones and even boulders that this man has thrown into the pond, and I am so very grateful that he has done so. I love Scott Hamilton and I am blessed that he has affected my life in so many ways.
Wow, such a testimony and blessing. I'm crying tears of joy for the mighty works God has did in your life. You may be small in stature, but your heart and words make you a giant of a man in God! Thank you Scott Hamilton!
This story was beautiful and glorified God. Thank you for sharing your story with us Scott. I'm experiencing tears of joy and strong encouragement. Bless you.
The only true disability in life is a BAD attitude. -- Wonderful words to live by! Particularly since I live with a disabling, and painful chronic condition that has made me chronically feel bad (emotionally) too. I truly want to begin - now - to think differently, like Scott Hamilton, his story was very inspiring.
A fantastic skater a fantastic sense of humour a fantastic love of friendship a fantastic human being God Bless you Scott Hamilton my prayers are for you and your family
Scott you have such an amazing testimony! God is so amazing and Awesome. I have always loved watching you skate, you are the best because God gave you a wonderful gift. I love your back flips. We grew up watching you and you are a blessing. I love your saying " The only real disability in life is a bad attitude. You are a great man of God! Your wife sounds like a big blessing to you and encourager. Thank you for blessing me with your testimony and your skating!
yes, Lord, I pray for a another healing on Scott! pour out your favor and mercy on him Lord..he is grateful for the blessings you have given him..lord, bless him again..in Jesus name and according to Your will..
You have a gift of doing the best you can with your life. You are wonderful on the ice. You are a wonderful human and yes, we are all second. Thank you.
Thank you Scott Hamilton, for your amazing testimony! What a blessing to everyone it is. "The Lion of the tribe of Judah was pierced and wounded for our transgressions, the Lamb of God was bruised for our iniquities, the punishment we deserved for our peace was taken upon Himself by the Prince of Peace, and by the stripes of the Only Begotten of the Father we were healed." God bless you! Wayne Brazeal
This is so amazing. I remember when he had testicular cancer. I helped in making a quilt for him - did a cross stitched square for it. I prayed so much for him - God answered in amazing ways. Praise Jesus!!! :)
He's our Father and wants to spoil us! We learned that this past year with my husband's cancer and the life-changing year we've had. God is good and we've experienced blessings only He could provide! Thank you for sharing, Scott Hamilton!
Wow! Thank you for that Scott! Years ago I actually talked to your Grandmother on the phone because my friend and I wanted to witness to you! haha--looks like God already had it figured out! May He continue to bless you and your wife and children always!
I saw you hosting skating with celebrities and saw what a great attitude you had when they'd make you do retakes. Thanks for sharing your amazing testimony !
Thank you Scott for sharing Christ in your life. What a wonderful, loving God we serve! I am touched by your talent and your testimony. May God continue to bless you and your family.
I cried the whole time , it’s amazing how god works differently in many ways in our life and we can’t see it or feel it but is there . Thank god for his great faith he got what deserved. We pray and we thank him for all great things in our life
Scotty, you've been there for me since the 80s. You helped me change my attitude. I wouldn't be me if you hadn't been you. Thank you for all of your help, laughter and influencing so many lives!
Scott Hamilton, I just got the greatest gift watching your video here! You inspired me as a competitor and motivated me as a peer! But today you touched me as a Human Being! My sincere best to you and your family! Peace, Scott
This is amazing!.. All praise to our God!.. I have always loved watching you skate Scott, but this the work God is doing in and through you is by far my favorite "performance".. Praying God's blessings on you and your family!
Scott Hamilton, you are amazing! I bought your book, The Great Eight, when I happened across it just to find out your story. It was just as inspiring as this video. You say, however, that most people nowadays probably just know you for your fight with cancer and brain tumor. May be true with the younger crowd, but for anyone who has ever seen you skate, it is not true. I saw you skate with Champions on Ice in Denver, and also on TV on a Christmas special where you skated to The Twelve Days of Christmas. Your performances on ice were always magical - you were not just a skater, you were an entertainer. It was obvious your heart was in what you were doing and you loved it. God bless you and your wonderful family. I read that you and your wife adopted two Haiti children (see folks, he does not just talk it he lives it).
I'm thinking my aunt may have accidentally made a post on her computer in my name... That being said, if what my aunt says it true, then I am quite interested.
Just good enough to skate? Oh Scott buddy, you need to go back and look at your performances! Very powerful message. Continued prayers for you. I admired you before and this testimony makes me admire you more. I know this is a long rant. I was born with Turner Syndrome in which short stature is the main characteristic. This inspired me to be grateful for the blessings I have and realize there is a purpose. This really got to me. We love you Scott!
As a retired special education teacher, I have worked with kids with a wide range of disabilities. I agree with your statement, "The only true disability in life is a bad attitude." I've worked with sweet and joyful kids in wheelchairs with whom everything had to be done for them by a para-professional. Their attitudes humbled me and taught me to be more grateful. Every life has value and a purpose, no matter the disabilities. Thank you for sharing your powerful testimony, Scott.
I am third. God, everyone else, then me. Great testimony from Hamilton! God's ways are higher than our ways. To God be the Glory. By Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. And everyone said "Amen"!
My childhood was extremely unhappy, but I remember having joy watching you skate! When they announced you were next I was so excited because you were the best, you put on such an amazing show and I would wait with eyes glued to the screen waiting on your backflip! One of my all-time favorite figure skaters. I remember him for his flips on the ice. Amazzzzing God-given talent!!!!!
I was watching an interview with Scott recently, and I suspected he was a Christian. So glad to see that it's true! What a class act.

jamie miller theriault me too!
I wish every church took time to include members testimonies.
What a beautiful testimony! Thank you Scott!
Beautiful testimony! Really enjoying all of these videos “I am second”
Weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning. God loves Scott so much.
Thank you Scott for sharing your story! God is good all the time... so glad to know you are second.
The joy that shines through that man! (Matthew 5,16
Scotty, you've been there for me since the 80s. You helped me change my attitude. I wouldn't be me if you hadn't been you. Thank you for all of your help, laughter and influencing so many lives!
Scott Hamilton,
I just got the greatest gift watching your video here! You inspired me as a competitor and motivated me as a peer! But today you touched me as a Human Being!
My sincere best to you and your family!
Peace,
Scott
This is amazing!.. All praise to our God!.. I have always loved watching you skate Scott, but this the work God is doing in and through you is by far my favorite "performance"..
Praying God's blessings on you and your family!
Cryin'! He's such a wonderful person!
I don't remember making this post...
I'm thinking my aunt may have accidentally made a post on her computer in my name...
That being said, if what my aunt says it true, then I am quite interested.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Thanks for sharing Scott.
God bless you Scott. Canada loves you!!!
What amazing Journey!!! To Jesus all the Glory! May God continue bringing blessings to your life. Amen!
you're one of my favorite skaters you make it look so effortless!!!
Incredible testimony, thank you Lord!
Perfect timing to have this cross my path. Thank you. Enjoy those miracles.
Wow. Amazing testimony. God bless him.
It brought me nearly to tears.
I am third. God, everyone else, then me. Great testimony from Hamilton! God's ways are higher than our ways. To God be the Glory. By Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. And everyone said "Amen"!
Thank you Scott for sharing. It’s changed my life. 🙏
This is a beautiful testimony regarding his love of Jesus, so thank you Scott for sharing this heartfelt Faith in God! :D
Tremendous testamony! God works in mysterious ways!
Praise God for Miricles!
