- I ordered this brush pen, here's my first impressions! I am so sorry about the weird cropping, I don't know what happened with the exporting. Please check out my other videos, I promise they are much better quality!

Thanks for this video! It's been incredibly difficult to find good information on this pen. Great to see it in action!
You're welcome! I'll try and post a video soon of the pen in action. I've been enjoying it so far. One thing I didn't find out until after recording this video is that the ink is not waterproof, so if you plan to use any water based mediums with it I would suggest either using a different ink with the adapter or inking your lines after coloring. :)
+GotAwkward Thanks for the heads up! I've ordered the pen with the platinum converter, so hopefully I'll avoid that issue. Can't wait to see more! Also, let me know how the speedball ink works out for you! Proper ink and clogging is another worry I have. thanks!

Thanks, looks like a sweet brush pen. Just ordered plus Sailor waterproof black ink..can't wait :)
Yes! It’s an awesome brush. I still use it quite a bit and it’s held up well. Just be sure you don’t use an India ink!
@@allisonsedar it just arrived..omg the brush is so sensitive :) now to develop a really good wrist control :)
I just bought a Kuretake No. 50--the fancy enameled-body version of your pen. It looks beautiful, and feels very substantial in my hand. I haven't inked it up yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Thanks for this video.
Hello, I am super interested in the No. 50, could you maybe tell me if the body of that pen is also metal? I've read on Amazon that it's made from resin and additional research only produced confusing results. Thank you very much and sorry for bothering you!

I know this was a year ago but it's resin.
Thanks for the video, but inking over ink is not supposed to work because is not making sense. You ink a graphite drawing not a inked one.
Hi Allison. Gave you a little shout-out in my most recent vid :)
Lol thanks! I haven’t uploaded because I just had a baby but I am planning to upload some vids here within the next week or two
Painful pacing. Edit a bit!
Thanks for the feedback. At the time my computer was a dinosaur and you wouldn't believe how long this took to edit XD I'm working on "trimming the fat" in editing
Is India ink safe for brush pens? I thought fountain pen ink was used in these?
@@mtnsaray
India ink is absolutely not safe because when not used for a while it drys up and clogs the brush pen. It's VERY difficult to outright impossible to unclog them after
@@mtnsaray no it's not! use technical pen ink.
so what ever happened? i heard super black clogs pens?
Hi David! Thanks for waching my video. I've had the pen about 6 months and I'm still using the ink cartridges that came with the pen. With that ink I haven't had any clogging issues. I havent used the converter yet to try out the super black ink in the pen, but once I have tried it I will let you know. I will most likely make an updated video about the pen in the future.
Speedball Super Black ink is NOT made for fountain pens. It will destroy your brush if you let it dry in the bristles, and is VERY likely to clog your feed. It is made bor regular brushes and dip pens ONLY.
There are a LOT of fountain-pen-friendly black inks that are permanent, waterproof, and pigment-rich. You should try Platinum Carbon, Noodler's Eel Black, or Dr.Ph.Martin's HiCarb India ink. I think you will have much better results than the Speedball ink...
Hey Dreamer, thanks for letting me know. Has this happened to your ink pen? Fortunately I haven't tried it with my pen yet. I was thinking of trying the pen with Noodler's bulletproof black ink, I've heard really good things about their brand.
Perhaps I will try different inks in cheaper, identical pens and compare? Then maybe we can see how they perform in brush pens and if they have and funky issues. I would hate to ruin such an expensive pen because I used the wrong ink, lol
@@allisonsedar I know I’m super late to the party but I’ve had three of these clogged by super black speedball and the best ink I’ve found so far is platinum carbon black
very interesting and interesting movie! let's be in touch! I invite you to me! :) greetings from Poland - Tomek
