    I just finished your free faux calligraphy class and I am signed up for the beginners class SMYD which starts Jan. 24, 2022! So excited! After the class yesterday I rushed out to buy some pens and oh boy... I should have watched this first!! I purchased the Micro :( and the Faber Castell SB :( and a set of Pigma FB, MB, & BB which the only one out of all of them I think will work for the beginning class is the Pigma FB. I should have just ordered the Tombow Fudenosuke set you show here. Having some patience and watching all of your recommendations would have really paid off AND saved me some money :) But oh well, maybe I can use those other pens for something later on down the road. :)

    This was awesome
    I have a question though
    I have noticed that the big tombow dual pens fray quickly
    Do u have a way to prevent it from fraying
    Plsssss answer

    • @darceymitchell6891
      @darceymitchell6891 3 роки тому +3

      Your pens will fray eventually. Look at the paper you are using. (Yes, paper is a factor)
      You should be using a smooth paper like Rhodia (I use this), Strathmore tracing paper or any other smooth paper. *Becca has a video about supplies & paper*
      Don't use copy paper. It is not smooth due to the pulp used & process. The paper will fray your pens quickly, especially if you are heavy handed or left-handed like me.😀

    • @muktachikerur7439
      @muktachikerur7439 3 роки тому +2

      I have tried using a smooth paper but where I live it’s quite expensive
      And I have used marker paper with them
      I wonder if it’s because of excess pressure
      Anyways thank you

This past Sunday in a new church (because I just moved) and I dropped a soft tip pen. It now is ruined and will not mark. I spent a lot on these and they are too fragile for me. Give me an option.

    I have both pens and honestly don't know which I prefer; they're both amazing! Can you please review the Tombow TWINTONE markers? I just bought some for the first time recently because I thought they might be something like gel pens (which I've been wanting for a while), but I don't know if they'll fray if I don't only use them on super smooth paper or not. I tried to find the answer to that, but I couldn't. I really wanted gel pens that I could use in my coloring books (and I don't know if any of them have super smooth paper or not [I'm just assuming they don't]) and was hoping these markers would substitute for them, but I don't want to try them in any of them without knowing they're not going to fray first. So, I'd really appreciate it if you could answer that question for me.

  • @gailboos

    I bought the two-pack from Amazon in the US and my hard tip pen has the green square and the soft-tip has the blue. If you can read the writing on the pen, it will also say "Hard Tip" or "Soft Tip". Additionally, there's a code on the side as well, BH for Hard and BD for Soft. Hope that helps anyone who got the same pens I did :)

    hi, I bought a 2-pack after watching your videos using these; I always have to look at the pen to see which one I am picking up--the soft one has a BS on it (looks like WS-BS 150), and the hard one has BH, next to the WS, and that's the way I know. I never remember which color barrel goes with which size.

    Very useful, thank you! I only had the one kind of Fudenosoke, wasn't sure which one it was when I did your 'Drills' course (and then all the rest) but what I DID notice was the difference between the Fudenosoke and the Pentel touch that I also have. The pentel was softer, more 'juicier' - the ink would shine wet for a few seconds once on the page. Now I understand why - the Fudenosoke I have is a hard tip, obviously the Pentel Touch is equivalent to a soft tip... or is it? There's another video idea for you :) Both are good - I have the full colour sets in both ranges and will use different pens according to the effects I want to achieve. Anyway, thank you for the video. As always, Becca, a pleasure! xx
