+Mike Anthony it's a race/battle game. One half of the game consists of Sonic R-like foot races, and the other half of death-matches (or other modes) in an arena-like environment. The game is split in several 'leagues' and every league consists of 3 race maps and 3 battle maps. You can play with up to 4 people or against the AI, so it's kinda like Mario Party as well in that regard ;)
We were just watching a movie called 'le Placard'. It's a French movie and there was a bit of a shot of a guy playing Rayman 2. So I remembered that I wanted to watch this trailer under I definitely don't regret it. It is a pity that such trailers are no longer made.
I wasted something like 500 hours in this game just playing the arena matches with glue bombs since the character quotes got me ROFLing so hard every time they got a bomb stuck on them or fought to get rid of them
Betilla, Bzzit, Mr. Dark, Clark, Sssam, Jano, Eig, Space Mama, Murfy, Ly, Polokus, Lividstone, Axel, Foutch, Umber, Mr. Skops... There could have been so much more characters...
@@gtwist8065 Yeah they were as there's promotional artwork featuring them. Ly is even on the back of the box of the PS2 PAL version. And Ninjaws is on the back of the box of the PS1 version Rayman Rush.
Imagine if they held off on the game for a couple more years. They would've had a much broader array of characters to work off of like Andre, Reflux, Barbera, and/or they could've included some re-imaginings of characters from Rayman 1(like what they did in Origins and Legends).

Rayman Arena for North America Xbox and Gamecube had a whole different menu, HUD, race modes, multiplayer modes with split screen for four players (PC/PS2 version for only two), many different skins, one new character, enhanced performance, a few new or different levels (exhibition mode), different leagues structure and a bunch of altered and new soundtracks. Rayman Rush has a race-only mode with few different maps, heavily altered race courses, one new character, different league structure and textures from beta version of Rayman M.
@Emperor of the Night Skies depends which version of arena, there are 2 rayman arenas, one rayman arena that 50% of the game was rebuilt and one that follows the ps2 version. Both are equally just as good while "M" has the butterfly mode and lum races Arena ditches those two modes for "pro racing" and "time attack" both are great but i'd choose arena? it does fix some issues like speedboosting on slides and ledge grabbing either way you will miss out depends on any version you get due to exclusive content in each
I have Rayman Arena for PC it was AMAZING! So many memories! I found the xbox version and we get Dark Globox and Dark Rayman! How cool is that? But the console versions are so garbage, they ruined it! You can only race with 1 cpu in single player! What was ubisoft thinking??
