I hold the option, shift, control and the power for 10 seconds.... then my laptop stopped power ON.... any solution ?

You need to hook up a wired keyboard or wireless to get it to work. May be try borrowing one from a family or friend

My keyboard worked after I reset the smc, it stopped working again so i was able to use the resetting smc tip about 4 times but now that isn’t working. When I reset the SMC previously it also fixed the trackpad as well and now both my keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive. Does anyone have any suggestions?

For my macbook pro volume + 0 [] and Right and Up Arrow not working. None of the above process is working. Using virtual keyboard for these keys.

Option 2 worked for me once for a few minutes, but then never again. the numbers on my keyboard do not work. . It’s weird because if I am on something where it knows I need to enter numbers, for example typing in a phone number to text on iMessage, it lets me use the numbers. But if I am on a website, notes app, or anything else, it doesn’t let me use the numbers. Does anyone know what to do?
I keep having the same issue. I manage to get it working again by trying all kinds of things but can never remember what worked and then it happens again the next time I use it. So frustrating.

I have a problem with F, G, H, J, K, L and sometimes D not working. Then they will come back and work but then go out again. It’s been like this on and off for 2 years but seems to have gotten worst. I think I need to replace the keyboard. What’s a good external keyboard to use?

@@iSolutional will that work with the 2012 MacBook Pro model? I’m debating between that or changing out the keyboard. There are some videos online for doing that but I will say it seems cumbersome as there are many things to disconnect and lots of screws to remove.
I recommend you to replace the main keyboard. Or repair the keys
@@iSolutional I was looking up keyboards and it’s showing one for mine as non backlit. Older ones are showing as backlit such as early 2012. Mine is a mid 2012 model and since the keys light up wouldn’t that mean I need the backlit one?
I think it is not original, but You can find secondhand original keyboard.
tbh i’ve tried all these methods and i can’t get none of them to work besides the air can.
certain ones won’t type and most of them i have to press hard

Update 2023, MacBook Air 2 M2: I turned off my Bluetooth and the keyboard is working fine, whenever I start to use the apple magic mouse, with the Bluetooth & Magic Mouse on then the keyboard stops, working and the keyboard lights all turn off on the keyboard, like if the keyboard lost power. I don’t know if it’s related to Bluetooth or to the magic mouse.. I’m not sure if it’s related to the magic mouse because as soon as I start using the magic mouse within minutes, the keyboard will stop working

When I opened my computer and I suddenly couldn’t use my keyboard I almost broke down. Option one worked though!! I’m not sure why, I’m not sure how, but I feel like a computer genius now 😎
