The iPad 8 is out, which means the 7th gen costs less, meaning I can finally afford the 6th generation, so I think I’ll buy the 4th gen!
🤣🤣🤣
Omg 😂😂😂😂 saammee
But the only problem, apple stops manufacturing older versions as soon as the latest model is released.
Also, try some new jokes 😭
Lol
lol chill bro 😂🤣
I was waiting for the iPad Air but decided to get this instead. My usage involves email, web browsing, and social media, I’m pretty sure buying the 128gb version and saving $170 plus tax was the right move. I’m getting the iPad and Logitech keyboard case for the same price as the Air. I have a 6th gen iPad for work so I’m confident this one will be up to the task
Mark Kendrick dude I see you everywhere on these iPad 8 videos
I just made the same decision, totally worth the extra 170 to then put toward accessories. The A12 will be more than enough power for my needs
Oh I was actually thinking of getting the iPad Air but my usage is pretty much the same as yours and some note talking. I think I’ll get the 8th gen too
@@akibarros4592 I was going to get iPad 8 128gb, but .... got iPad Air 2019 64gb. They both got a12, but air got more advanced laminated display with True Tone and better selfie cam.
do you think there is a huge difference between pencil Gen 1 and 2 ?
I always talked bad about apple. In January 2020 i bought the ipad 2019 and was more than impressed. In may 2020 i bought the iphone se 2020 and i think it is crazy how this ecosystem is between those two devices, i thought it was overrated when i used android...and now i bought the airpods pro and automatic switching is amazing in the ecosystem...
I just bought the iPhone se 2020, switching from using android for like a decade haha. The iPhone se finally came at a price point I thought was worth testing the water. Honestly still getting use to it but I really like it and thinking about getting an iPad as well now. I use to think the apple eco system was overrated as well, now look at us haha
jake montoya yeah, i wish you a good time while using it bro
Yeah it’s great until you decide to leave it lol
Apple is great, but the biggest problem is cost. It’s not always affordable to everyone, especially if you are frugal
I love this man!
Whenever I open UA-cam I find these man fulfilling my wish.
Thanks so much!
SAME !!! and ikr
The only people that care about bezels are tech UA-camrs. The sales of the iPhone SE 2020 speaks for itself.
I care actually
It looks much better
@@meme-iz7ri I’m happy for you 😌
I’ve had a bunch of iPads and they do last a long time. The one I’m replacing now I got in 2013, and I won’t be throwing it away, I’ll be loading it with all my mums photos and giving it to her for Christmas
iPads from 2013 are basically unusable in 2020. I have the iPad Air 1st gen and I can’t even load safari without it crashing everytime
@@casshernsins8333 I put my old iPads in airplane mode, load them up with photos or music and give them to my parents. They don't even know what the internet is! (Sometimes I envy them)
@@rayrandom211 Something I wish I had known before I bought my iPad 8th gen is that you need MacOS Catalina or later with the latest iTunes to sync it. Even my new iMac running iTunes 12.9 wouldn't recognise the new iPad!
@@MLB9000 okay thanks for the advice
The thing is, A12 is better than Snapdragon 865(or as gd as it). This means.................a 329 tablet is better than a 650 one.
Its crazy how good this iPad is.

You are not boring 🤪 60 hours+ workweek and publishing several videos per week. You are amazing, inspiring, and entertaining. I’m waiting for the iPad Air. Upgrading from my trusty 6th generation that will be handed down to a 2nd generation Air user, and so on and so on.
Watching this on the iPad 8! Been loving this as my first iPad ever! Your videos made me impressed by the value of this iPad so thanks!
Do you by chance do art I’m just wondering because I do art and I want an ipad
Corrine Mills I do more of note-taking but imo the non-laminated display is a bit of a bummer for me, you can feel the hollowness of the display. But other than that the latency is very good, not as perfect as the Pros but good enough.
Yoris Yunanda what difference does the laminated display do and latency. Sorry I just don’t know tech stuff.
Corrine Mills laminated display means there is no "air" gap between the glass surface and the screen itself. The iPad 8 doesn't have that and has the "air" gap, when tapping it with the pencil, there is the hollowness tap to it, which I don't really like in my opinion. That's my only complaint with the iPad.
Bro im going to buy this tab,, is it good for gaming and watching videos ?
I've just upgraded from iPad 3rd gen to 8th gen and I'm so happy I finally have a device that works more than just fine :D
Is 32gb enough for games and some apps
32GB Storage should really start to phase out by now. 64GB should be the starting point on smart devices.
Yep with the iPhone SE there was the same problem i mean who would buy that with just 16GB? With that much power from the 6s(when it was new) and the same great camera 4K video recording but still interesting that now we can buy iPads with 1 freaking Terabyte even more that my PC had.
It's all a marketing strategy :(
Memory isnt even that expensive. . . What are they running on PS Vita memory cards?
Convinced me even more that getting the iPad 8th gen as my first iPad is a brilliant move. Thanks a lot. This was really helpful!!
I’m watching this in my 2019 ipad 7th gen

Just ordered mine 🤩 first ever iPad!
been watching so many ipad 8 reviews but this is the best
I updated from a 1st Gen iPad Air and love my 8th gen iPad.
I think it is a very good deal for first time buyers with very tight budget.. Very powerful machine at that price.. And now sale is on in India + students discount is also available 😍😍
Thanks for your review!! I want to purchase my first iPad for school notes specifically! And to do everything I can’t do with a chromebook because some sites just simply are not compatible and any gaming on the chrome book is so slow and leggy ... so I’m so so excited for this iPad 8th generation!!
I went on a one week trip in which i left my 13 MacBook at home, I took my 2 iPads instead. I did't miss the MacBook at all, in fact it would have been dead weight because i never would have used it. My iPad Air 3 and Mini 5 were all i needed. It's nice to come home to the nice big screen of my MacBook but honestly i could live without it, i can do everything i need on an iPad.
it just hurts seeing you hit those ipads on your table bc my family can barely afford it lol 😭
Same! Ever since corona my mom lost her job, we’re slowly going broke :(
@@jaslene2350 I'll pray for you I'm sorry to hear that

My school gave us all iPads for all of middle and high school. We took all our notes on there and studied for tests, and I started college this year and decided to try for a laptop since more college students use them. I got a touch screen one so I could take notes, but I absolutely hated it even after a few months of getting used to it. I ended up getting an iPad and I can take all my notes from there. Only annoying thing about my iPad is that it doesn’t have a flash player because it’s not a laptop, which means I can’t do certain things like play games or run programs with flash player, but I have a desktop at home that I guess I can use that for. And I need to invest in a wireless keyboard to help with writing essays, and then I’ll be good to go! The basic version is honestly more than enough for me since I’m just a regular student and not taking any special classes that would require a diffeeent model.
Just ordered this one for school. Hopefully I can complete my bachelors on it cause I’m tired of HP and laptops and unfortunately can’t afford a Mac right now
As someone who has used an iPad a ton over the past 8 years, i also agree that the camera should be on the longer side. I think Apple should at least do it on the iPad Pros - that are geared towards heavy work based iPad use anyway
Already have a nice laptop for longer papers and anything that requires heavy usage. So, my usage will primarily be to do forum posts for grad school, to consume media, to play games, and to communicate in imessage. Thanks for the video. Helped me decide on this over a more expensive ipad.
Upgraded from my 2014 IPad Air which was not retaining charge and noticeably slowing down. Had it 24 hours. I use it for watching tv, social media, UA-cam. I shall have a go at video editing as I still use my laptop. Really pleased with the transfer of old iPad on to new, with quick start, once I had charged up the old one. Hope this lasts as long as my old one. Thanks for the video.
My mom (69 years old and needed a IOS device for her knitting program with a screen larger than her iPhone 11) asked about her options. She has AT&T cellular service so I told her to order the 128gb version for $18 a month added to her cell bill. After talking her through it over the phone, I ordered the same for myself.
I'm upgrading from the 7 to the Pro. But I'm a comic book colorist, writer, and letterer. The 7 did a great job and with Clip Studio Paint, I can get lots of layers, but I want the power/ram to use Procreate with more than 7 layers.
Excellent review as always- you convinced me to try to find this device- which was NOT easy- for my wife’s Birthday present this year!
I have my Air from last year and now she has the exact same power for ALOT less money!
Thanks👍🏻
Thats awesome! Hope you enjoy it when you get it.
The Everyday Dad
Ordered it this morning - very hard to find right now!
I’m officially addicted to this channel. I’m in the ecosystem so it’s like somebody gets me. Lol!
On another note: The workaround for transferring video files off of SD cards is to select the videos on the SD card in the files app and instead of copying them to an iPad folder within the files app, you click ‚share‘ and save them to the camera roll. Then put the photo app in split screen and watch every video pop up. Then you have some feedback on the transfer progress (unless you are transferring only one file, then it is useless).
Me chillin with the iPad 2
My 5th gen Mini is basically my main computer, except for gaming on my '12 Mac Pro
That screen is so crisp and sharp. I read all my books,Manga, and Comics on the Mini 5.
What do you mean for " '12 mac pro"?

@@TheWuffball Ah ok
i just purchased the ipad 8th and going forward i supposed im switching to the apple eco system......this is all your fault lol
Your videos have gotten really good. I love the color grading too.
I used a 6 year old iPad Air with a cracked screen. This was a huge upgrade. I use it to consume content. Mostly for my kid. It’s especially good in the car.
I agree! Apple you need to put that camera in the middle of the side not the top! I use mine like a laptop too and I want it like that for calls!
I was looking for a ipad 8 online since it’s way cheaper than Apple. I got the 7th gen version because I thought it was the latest model 🤦♀️
But I got it for $270 with 128gb and it came with a protective case and sleeve, so I guess it wasn’t a bad deal since I saved $140 by getting it one year old! I’m actually pretty happy with it so far it’s great for school and taking notes and stuff like that. I also got the Logitech crayon for $30 which is working great so far, I’m gonna use this throughout all of college so I hope there’s no issues. And I might just get a keyboard instead of a laptop because I wanna save money :)
Oh this is perfect my first iPad. I'll be switching from Android soon yay.
Same :D
The absolutely most valuable feature of the Apple SoCs is the hardware built in encoding and decoding. That’s what makes the difference in editing performance between this and usual PCs/Macs. And that is also, what makes me excited about Apple Silicon Macs...
I love your videos, I recently subscribed your channel. No one makes as detailed videos as you. You are the best tech UA-cam
Thanks for this! I'm with you in needing the128Gb iPad. Here in Oz that halves the price difference to the new Air, which makes the Air better value imho, for longevity, USB C, laminated display etc. Looking forward to your review. With love, Ken
Just ordered one after seeing this video thanks man for the awesome review!
Hello Apple sales person... I just ordered one (-;
$824 with 128GB, Logitech keyboard, Apple Pen and Apple Care...
Amazing how easily things add up.
I got a $20 Bluetooth keyboard, a $20 case off Amazon. And the 32gb version with $1 of 50 gb iCloud storage a month. You didn't need to spend that much money.
Thank you Gary for your ranting and passion for this base model iPad. Lol 😂. I gave my ipad 7 to my other sibling and bought the 8th gen. It's great. Then I also gave that to my other sibling because I have to do graphic design now and he needs it for school right now. So I got the 2017 12.9inch pro and I'm loving it even more. But for me the best bang for the buck is the base model iPad especially because of the power compared to the price. It gets 5+ years of updates for god's sake.
Still getting an iPad Pro 2020. It's going to be a powerhouse for years to come.
Congratulations on achieving 200.000 subs!
Thank you very much! I still can't believe it.
I used an iPad mini from 2012 until i'd say around 2017. At it's release it cost me around $500.00 probably because I was excited to have the cellular service, mobile apps, cool new cases etc. I also loved the form factor of the smaller iPad but I also wasn't crazy about the iPad experience over all because I found myself trying to find ways to use it rather than just using it for what I really needed.
Today I use a Laptop to work and surf the web. I write and build all of my presentations on an older 2015 MacBook Pro and I still use all of the USB, and SD card slots etc. Believe it or not, I still have an external USB CD Drive just incase I want to watch (or Digitize) footage from an older, hard to find movie.
For the most part I prefer taking notes in my Phone (currently and iPhone 8 with a cracked screen) and I also like to do much of my correspondence on there. This includes social media, and the occasional online selling and shopping etc.
I also carry a notebook with an actual pen or a pencil because as much as I love "note pad" I hate the clutter that comes with it - especially when there is an individual note that just has a few random numbers on it- because that is where I decided to keep my friends WiFi pass word or whatever.
Recently I was shopping at BestBuy and trying to decide what new iPhone I should get when I stumbled upon the iPad8. They had an open box for $257.00 and when I asked about it the salesperson told me that they have been getting a lot of them back because people decide that they can't live with the 32GB storage. I thought about it for a moment and at that price I decided that I could. Here is why.
I was able to get five years of good use out of my original iPad Mini and after became obsolete I did just fine without it. I did being able to read scripts or the occasional ebook (still prefer paper to digital) and truth be told, I am sure I still could use it for that. I honestly just gave up because the user experience diminished so much over time. The Screen wasn't as good as my phone or my Laptop and the lag was unbearable at times so getting a new iPad with these specs is an unbelievably vast improvement. Plus, for $55.00 I was able to buy an Apple Pencil V1 which gives me some flexibility to use my tablet as an input device for some creative task- like drawing which I do have the need for on occasion. The 32GB is not easy to work but when combined with my other Apple Products along with proper media management I believe that I can make it work. Plus the iPad came with the AppleTV service which is technically valued at around $75.00. So let's just say this thing cost me $350.00 all in- with the divine, the pencil, the case, and the paper like screen protectors. When I take away the $75.00 for apple TV we are back at around $270.00 for a low end machine that still does a whole lot of business.
Anyway, I think that the best piece of advice that comes from The Everyday Dad here is the realization that your Apple Product is part of an ecosystem. It is okay to have the older Apple watch if all you really want is to do is count steps, receive texts, and have alerts when you make turns. If you understand how the Cloud Storage works and are okay with that - it is fine to have less memory in your phone and if you are only going to use an iPad for certain tasks getting the lower end consumer version just makes a lot of sense. I am not sure if 32gbs is the most practical but I feel like it is worth the trade off as it seems to fit well in my "ecosystem."
Thanks for posting this one. It was actually really helpful.
This guy is really nice because other youtubers only review expensive products that we barely can afford but this guy helps us!
It’s really sad that some people don’t understand how good the apple ecosystem. I remember that I used to just ignore when you tubers mentioned it. It sounds boring and sounds like something an apple fanboy would say. My mom recently upgraded her iPad and gave me the old one, and my dad upgraded his AirPods so he gave me his old one. I can now confidently say that if you diss the whole ecosystem thing, you must’ve not tried one before. Things are so connected, like being able to use iMessage on my iPad, sharing my photos across both devices, and most important of all, AirPods connect to whatever device your using extremely easy. I’m lovin it
Damn, i'm literally stuck between this or the air that hasn't come out yet... might get this though, just gonna be for school, meaning note-taking, high lighting papers, that's it.
That was me too, I ultimately chose the new iPad air because it's almost 11" which I like because for college I do a lot of multi tasking and o think it would feel better having that bigger screen. Also love the fact that it can now be charged with USB C. The laminated screen also would make drawing and note taking a better experience
@Levi Carter do you know how much the iPad air 4 will cost on black Friday?
I was between the two as well and got the 8 and bought the Logitech touch keyboard folio... same price for both and this setup is 🔥 NO regrets!

I am new to iPad and all I wanted is an iPad that is good for reading slides, writing notes and reading papers. I am a PhD student and basically my usage is limited to looking at scientific papers and writing notes, etc.
What model and screen size should I be looking at? What pencil should I buy?
I think in the end it depends on whether youre willing to pay extra for the ipad air. You def do not need the pro just to read slides, write notes and read paper. With air you get the laminated screen but a lot of reviewers say that if you start from the budget (and not going from air/pro to budget) then you wont really notice the difference between the screen
I personally have the same need as you and so i just bought the budget. The extra i can spend on air i can spend on groceries haha. As for the pencil i bought 3rd party one. A friend say that thats enough since i dont draw. Only highlights and note taking. Another option is to get the logitech pencil :)

@@fawwazal-subie2305 i just bought the ipad 8 and theyre 10.2in and for me thats enough
Your reviews are very good, your channel is excellent this channel is highly underrated, keep up the good work
It's refreshing to see a reviewer on UA-cam talking about how impressive technology actually is today and that smaller budget gadget like this iPad is actually a really good device. I think a lot of people (sometimes unfortunately also myself included) consider themselves a pro user and think they need the pro models when they actually don't. I am currently in the middle of wanting to buy a new iPad. I KNOW that any iPad in the current 2020 line up will be a huge upgrade (since I own an iPad2!!! ..hehe), but I really want the new design, so that brings me down to iPad Air or pro. I would really like a bigger screen, so..that really brings me to the Pro 12,9", BUT..I am having a hard time justifying spending $1300 (yes, that's the price for the 128gb 12,9" in Norway) on any device.
I just bought the iPad 8th generation. First time iPad user. Was contemplating buying the iPad Air, but it recently increased its cost by $100. I don't store photos or videos, so this basic iPad seemed the best. But I may regret not throwing down another $100 to get the 126GB version. Time will tell.
The one main huge problem I have with buying any Apple product is price. No matter if it's a desktop, laptop or mobile device. Then when it comes to iOS devices is the storage issue I don't want to buy a new device to get more storage. But if money was no option yeah I would go hog wild on all Apple products.
Like how you talk and how you provide reviews! Good job!

this is great but my 7th gen still works fine so im not upgrading.
YAY!!!! 200K Subscribers! I want to know what time the party is for the celebration 🤷👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
You can’t use an iPad as a computer. It runs some of the essential apps yes, but the operating system doesn’t allow for full accessibility and compatibility for VLEs, and other applications, features and other things that are only on either desktops or laptops.
I have an android flagship of 2018. 845 SOC , that time apple was flaunting A12 bionic Chip. Even at that time i knew even 855 wouldn't compare to A bionic A12. Now days people can easily see the benchmark Snapdragon 865 is nearly comparable to A12 of 2018 A12 looses points slightly against 865 today. And better then 855. But its not about the points. The body and mind of ipads are truly a beast against any Android machine. At 329$ i love it.
If you’re a college student during the summer they gave free AirPods with almost any purchase (except this model I think). It happens every summer I think so if you’re gonna get a MacBook or ipad you can get free AirPods ;)
(And I think there might be $100 off or something but everything’s always so expensive that I honestly can’t even tell)

The BEST video about iPad 8 on UA-cam! Thanks you)
I am watching your video since last 3 weeks and I'm a now fan of you
Well thanks so much!
Who else just clicks on his videos because this guy is awesome. I don’t even care about the iPad and I’ve watched all of his iPad videos
Upgraded my 1st Gen SE to iOS 14.5.1... It's crazy to receive updates to a 5 year old model!!... Though i don't use this phone any more
