Sabaton tells true storys about war history in an uncredible way. It's like watching a very emotional movie. I have tears in my eyes every time i hear this song. And the end you can hear Floor Jansen from Nightwish. She is the wife of the sabaton drummer Hannes van Dahl. I love your reaction, becaue I can see that you are a very warmhearted person. Sent you a hug ❤

Sabaton tell the story as it was. As good as it can be. Don't be affraid to show emotions. War is ugly, and should not be forgotten.

Hannes Van Dahl -- the blond soldier that was concussed by the grenade in the video -- is Floor's husband. He's Sabaton's drummer ••• Happy! SOLSTICE!!!

Welcome to Sabaton. They are a Swedish metal band, formed in 1999, and most of their songs are about Military History. A sabaton is the footpiece in a medieval suit of armor. Lead singer Joakim Broden and bassist Par Sundstrom ( the guy at the cross at the end) are the primary songwriters, and only original members left. First out of the trenches was drummer Hannes van Dahl (Floor's husband, joined 2014). First out on the other side was guitarist Chris Rorland (joined 2012). You know Tommy, he joined in 2016. Song is from the most recent 10th album, The War to End All Wars. That and the 9th record, The Great War, are all WW I Stories.
Glad you noticed the production quality, yes they are professional. Those people usually makes movies, but were out of work when the world shut down ,so they had time for this. If you're interested in more on the stories behind the songs, Sabaton has it's own history channel, an episode for every song.

A wonderful reaction to a great song. Welcome to the Sabaton Army! Sabaton is dedicated to singing songs about history, they even have a history channel. If you want to see how popular they are, might I suggest "en livstid i krig" for your next Sabaton experience? It's a live concert in Sweden sung in Swedish so you will need the subtitles on, it will blow you away. After that, the sky is the limit.

This is IMHO one of the most important music videos ever made; now more than ever. Other songs by Sabaton you might enjoy are „Bismarck“, „No bullets fly“ and „Night Witches“. All about true events.

This one always brings me to tears as well.
It is ok to cry to them in reactions it just show that it gets to your heart.
Their video production is always outstanding as well. You always get a short movie.
Regarding to see people as human beings for a while you must see “No bullet flies”.

I'm sorry, I probably should have given you some warning...This is SO heartbreaking but SO inspiring about what humanity is capable of! Good call on catching Floor singing the end credits, not many people do! I'm sure that many have already informed you but Hannes, the drummer (blonde) is married to her! Also, Tommy does some of her arrangements! Great reaction! ❤

If you do more Sabaton I can recommend "No bullets fly" and "Lady of the Dark", the animated versions with Yarnhub. Also the live version of "En livstid i krig" in Swedish, but do not forget to enable subtitles.

    •  10 місяців тому +10

Agree on all. And Ballad of Bull as well as their cover of Motörheads 1916 (bring tissues) for 1916 there is a great The making of video as well. “En livstid i krig” should be the official recording from Gothenburg on Sabaton’s channel.

Sabaton has some great music, I suggest, "Lady of the Dark" the animated story. A true story of the most decorated woman soldier in history. Also "No Bullets Fly" the animated version are both powerful and amazing stories. Thank you for your reaction.

I love your reaction! ♥️ I'm also glad that you've reacted to my favourite band!🤘 When you watch an official music video or animated story video by Sabaton, it's always this high quality production every time! Not to mention their live performances. Outstanding!
You might want to check out something by them that not necessarily make you cry. (Can't say that their songs are uplifting, since they sing about military history). I highly recommend their official music videos for "Bismarck", "The Royal Guard", "Lion from the North", "Uprising", "Steel commanders" feat. Tina Guo and "Seven pillars of wisdom". Also check out their animated story videos for "Night Witches", "Red Baron", Lady of the Dark" and "No bullets fly" (tissues needed for this one!).
For lyric videos I'd suggest "Carolus Rex" (English version. About a badass King of the Swedish Empire), "Attack of the dead men", "82nd all the way".
For live videos I recommend "En livstid i krig" (subtitles on! Gothenburg, 2020), "Red Baron" (live from Berlin, 2020), "Swedish Pagans" (live from the Great Show, Prague, 2020), "Night Witches" (live from Leipzig, 2020), "Uprising" (live from Woodstock, Poland, 2012).

Lovely reaction! Don't fret about getting emotional, it just shows you are connecting with the music. I still cry every time I watch this. In fact, Sabaton makes me cry more often than any other band. I see you've just reacted to _1916,_ I'll check that out in a minute; can I suggest the animated story video of _No_ _Bullets_ _Fly_ next? The bonus feature at the end gets me even if I've made it through the song!

Those poor bastards in the trenchs had not just worry about the Germans firing machine guns at them it was a rats and the lice and a piss poor living conditions those guys put up with. With a promise that they would be home before Christmas always seems that the wars at the higher-ups tend to think it's going to be a real quick war ends up being a long dragged out endless issue and the men fighting the war of the ones that pay the price for it..

Christmas Truce is one of the most powerful Sabaton songs, and their use of cinematography in the video compounds it.
If you want to continue down the Sabaton rabbit hole, you should know that Sabaton generally has three types of songs. The first type tells the story of an individual. The second, about a group, and the third about an event.
I would suggest the following songs for more provoking reactions:
"1916" (cover of Motorhead's song by the same name). - about the battle of the Somme (and war casualties in general)
"To Hell and Back" - a tribute to Audie Murphy, a Medal of Honor winner who was forever tormented by his memories of the war.
"Lady of the Dark" - the most decorated woman soldier of all time
"The Unkillable Soldier" - a shocking and slightly amusing tale of Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart, who simply refused to die.
"En livstid i krig [A Lifetime of War]"

many of the soldiers who participated in this were transferred to other fronts due to not being able to fight against each other anymore. sadly this never happened again due to the threat of severe punishment, and the one German who tried, he offered a box of cigars to a trench of Canadians, was promptly sniped dead...yeah we were pretty ruthless back then, almost nazi levels of ruthless. in fact, we were the most hated side to fight back then due to have vicious and immoral we were when it came to fighting the enemy. we could have been summed up as: best friends in peace time, Jason Vorhees in war time.
