this game could have been great, i dont hate this game, im just sad, i see all the love and passion in this game but it was all screwed up by a lack of time and many other issues, sonic 06 could have been one of if not the best sonic game ever. i love sonic 06 for what it wanted to be and that it has love in it unlike recent games :)
I have nothing but love and respect for this game. It showed me exactly what it took to be a hero and how to how to be happy even things don't go my way. I just have to do two important things which is number one remember that if I have time to worry then run and number two smile. Since then, I have took those words to heart and embrace not just this game, the song, but life itself. For that I am truly grateful to this game.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 was a mistake and failure everybody needed in their life. The meaning of this game has a lot more layers than just “a bad Sonic Game”. When I was younger, I always had a tough time growing up and Sonic 06 was one of the only few games that I really admired. As I got older and despite all the damage its done to the Sonic community, there’s always some spark of potential in this game. It feels like a turd landing in a bowl of M&Ms. Its a breath of fresh air and something new for Sonic to the point where the journey feels unforgettable. Even if I didn’t enjoy the gameplay of this game to the entirety of the Adventure Trilogy, Sonic 2006 will be remembered for being a game that failed, but showed effort and tried. Compare that to something like Sonic Forces where that game at its best is nothing more than painfully average. Forces damaged me far more than 06 could ever reach because that game had nothing meaningful. No good message, no character development, no amazing set pieces and nothing… like Null Space… an infinite place of nothing. Sonic 2006 left me in a state where I felt changed after finishing it. Looking past all the gameplay, glitches and excessively long load times… I will never forget the greatness of this game in certain aspects. Like appreciating the present day… the here and now, unleashing the chains of hatred from my past and letting go, and protecting myself for a better future.
Say what you want about this game, but three things are for certain: Not only did it have a lot of potential that was sadly wasted, it had/has an amazing soundtrack & arguably one of, if not the BEST villain we ever got (Mephiles). In fact, I was one of the few people who, despite its flaws, really enjoyed it.
how am i just finding out about this video now? i used to jam out to this on the upper deck back in like 2018. now there is finally a 10 hour loop that I found in 2021. wish this would've been made 3 years ago haha, could've been chilling with my dogs that I loved, while blasting this.
This song can really makes you think back to how awesome video games were back in the 2000s, or the past in general. While there were some hits and misses there was so many hits back in the 2000s that made so many people's childhoods. I miss the old Sega, while Sonic Frontiers is definitely ambitious and a step in the right direction, the new sonic games will never hold the charm the old sonic games will hold

I didn't first play this game until 2012, 6 years after it was released. I didn't even know that it existed when it was first released until years later. I've been wanting to play this game for the longest after I had discovered it but never had the chance to. That's because I didn't own an Xbox 360 until 2012, and I spent hours on this game trying to complete it. Aside from the annoying glitches in the game, I didn't let that bother me and I still enjoyed the game to its fullest. The whole soundtrack to this game was amazing and soothing. The gameplay was really fun and I know it would have been better if this game had another year to be worked on. Overall, I've been a Sonic fan since kindergarten, therefore I enjoyed this game very much and created many good memories with it in 2012.
If I ever fulfill my dream of making a sonic game, I want this to play after you get an S rank and wait for one minute at the screen. Such a beautiful song.
I don’t care what people say I like Elise as a character and I like her dynamic with Sonic I like how Sonic opens her life and how she takes what he says to heart I like how she managed to grow, appreciate life and become more free Elise had to suffer the loss of her father and had to have weight of the world’s shoulder on her for her entire life because of the flames of disaster. She had to be an emotionless robot, she had to bottle her emotions, she couldn’t show her sensitive side I love the ending cutscene where Sonic asks if she’s worried but she just repeats what he said “If you have time to worry then run, right?” I like Mephiles as a villain and how he served as the ultimate test for Shadow and everything he went through and stood by Shadow in SA2 had to suffer from the mistakes of humanity, he had to suffer the loss of somebody close to him, his memories were altered from his creator who went insane after suffering from grief, the when Shadow finally regains his true memories and fulfils Maria’s actual wish, he dies Then in Heroes, he had amnesia and couldn’t get the answers he desired Then in Shadow 05, the trauma from his past still lingered, he then later finds out that Gerald never created Shadow for evil, he was intended to be a beacon of hope for humanity, he then manages to overcome his and finds his own purpose while saying goodbye to his old self Then in 06, Mephiles tries to use humanity against him and tries to convince him that they’ll eventually turn on him and that what he’s doing is pointless, why fight when they’ll only continue to make him suffer? Shadow stands his grown, even if everyone turns against him, he’ll continue fighting on, he’ll always see the mission til the very end, he will fight for what he believes in I like how Shadow, Rouge and Omega will always have faith in each other even if everybody turns against them I like how Omega still sticks by Shadow even tho Mephiles said in the future he’ll turn against him I like Silver, Blaze and Amy I like how Amy stands by her faith in Sonic, she knows that he’ll never harm anybody even if he is the Iblis trigger, she’ll continue to have faith in her friends even if the whole world turns against them, I like how she managed to make Silver doubt whether he’s doing the right thing and how it starts off his character arc I like how strong willed and optimistic Silver is, he’ll always keep fighting for a better future even if the odds are heavily stacked against him I like Silver and Blaze’s friendship, I like how Blaze comments how naive his optimism can be, but Silver still continues anyway I like the ending where Silver doesn’t want Blaze to make the sacrifice but Blaze said that they’ll still fix the future even if it comes at a loss I like how all three stories revolve around the love the characters have for each other 06 had a vision and I wish Kiyoko Yoshimura and Shiro Maekawa had more time to improve the scripts for Sonic and Silver stories so they can fave better execution I wish Sonic Team had more time to make the game truly special like it deserved to be

It is really bad but I still enjoy it, it has a decent edgy story that i enjoy. Shadow is it in, a new cool hedgehog appears. The villians are really cool, such as mephiles and iblis. And it has one of the best soundtrack of all time in sonic history which is His world. Solaris phase 2 is also pretty damn epic.

This is something that virtually everybody forgets when trashing Sonic Boom like it's the worst Sonic game ever when it really isn't at all. Both games had good soundtracks. Sonic Boom is better than Secret Rings for ONE reason: I CAN CONTROL IT. It always bothers me when people say Sonic Boom is the worst Sonic game JUST because of the different designs. "THEY'RE DIFFERENT TO WHAT I'M USED TO THEREFORE THEY'RE BAD!!!" It's really just a matter of what you're exposed to first, not an objective law of what Sonic should look like.
