This may not be the most fitting comment for a video like this, but R.I.P. Akira Toriyama. We wouldn't have Sonic as we know it without his contributions to this world, so I thank him for it, and all his works.
Without him we wouldn't have the divine golden form we have now, or, at least, it would be very different
Rest in peace, Toriyama.
R.I.P Akira toriyama... thank you... im not fan of dragon Ball but... super sonic... 7 esmeralds... wow...
Seems like his work touched all our hearts and minds in some way. Rest in peace to a legendary man
was just thinking this last night. perfect place for this. RIP to a legend, who will live forever through his art.

Sonic Adventure is the first game I ever played, Station Square will be embedded in my mind forever
Started off strong!
You lucky thing. It wasn't my first game, but it left a huge impression on me regardless.
Me too this is the first game I ever owned. I remember I got SA1 and a GameCube for Christmas when I was kid and me and my dad spent hours just exploring emerald coast. This game will forever be something so special to me and I’m glad someone out there holds a similar sentiment.
Same, bro
While not the first game I've ever played but Sonic Adventure is my first Sonic game and one of the games on the nintendo gamecube that shaped me to what I am today. Good times...
Ah, it's the late 90s-early 2000s again! This reminds me of my small tv with the built in VCR. I used to record stuff on it from TV shows and video games I played. That blew my mind as a kid being able to do that.
itd be really cool if u still had any of those tapes laying around, seeing games being played in the actual era they came out in is so neat. same with tv show stuff (random ass ads my beloved)
@@xxgothicprincessxx I still do on my shelf. Still need the third Phoenix Saga tape, Apocalypse, Days of Future Past part 2, and a few others, but i have most of X-Men. I like the covers since they look like the comics. Still got the family VCR too.
Feels so calming.....
That crt quality will never be matched
If you have Sanic Mania you can pick CRT Mode on there

i can’t explain it but i always wanted to live in all of these stages when i played sonic adventure, they just look so calming and peaceful i wanted to experience it. i love this so much i feel like i’m actually there
ikr, maybe it's that certain balance of "they feel like real places" but "not too real simplicity" at the same time
@@stardustmotionthat’s always been the appeal of low poly realistic graphics to me. Sonic adventure 1 does that perfectly imo, as well as both n64 Zeldas
Same man, same.
I always found Station Square too cozy as a kid.
I felt that exact way when I was a kid. I especially loved Station Square and Mystic Ruins.
Imo, Sonic Adventure 1 is one of the most unintentionally A E S T H E T I C games ever. It's up there with NiGHTS into Dreams.
My favorite tracks are At Dawn, Pleasure Castle, Windy Hill, and Sand Hill. The Lost World theme is great too. The whole soundtrack is incredible. Might be my favorite of all time.
At Dawn is one of those songs where if I don't catch somebody humming or dancing to it I don't trust them. It is seriously a great song all the rest of them too but at dawn sounds like.... At dawn. Know what I'm saying?
@@thelongestshadow3389 first time i heard it was now and i getchu
There is something about this that is so simultaneously comforting and depressing at the same time.
The comfort of childhood memories, but at the same time not being able to ever relive those first experiences. its nice to have a little trip back in time every now and again though.
@@speedysonic0699 I was going to comment exactly this.
It's depressing because the people in this world aren't relaxing🙏🏾
Nostalgia.
Yep, I'm playing Sega all weekend and no one can stop me.
It’s a relief to see more saturn and dreamcast love these past few years, with games that replicate that beautiful aesthetic, like rollin rascal or penny’s big breakaway.
I’ll honestly miss this era of gaming, despite not even being there to witness it.
as someone who lived through this era of gaming, it was truly like no other. I treasure greatly the memories these games brought me, and it fills me with so much joy to see younger generations experience and love this era as I once did.
I hope one day everyone can get a dreamcast of their own to play these wonderful gems.
We were so concerned for the Console Wars, that may overlooked the Dreamcast. Whether it's nostalgia, or realization they were too harsh, but Im glad to see the Dreamcast finally getting the recognition it deserves, almost 25 years later
@@andrepolidoro4966I already have played a few dreamcast and saturn titles on pc but it’s not the same, I intend on getting a dreamcast soon to reexperience the 2000s
@@jwilson2793yeah, it was genuinely SO ahead of it’s time. Glad we still care about it.
We’re realizing the beauty not just in its strives to push gaming/design but in its simplicity. Even with limited graphics and hardware it still remains in our hearts as much as any modern game from 2024.
Mystic ruins has such a healing vibe. Every time I listen to it, its like a battery gets recharged in me
Dude 100%. The first time I heard it In game just froze and listened for a good minute
theres something special about 3D game scene when you take out HUDs and other game-related stuff
The niche audience for SA1 in the late 90s was a fun place to be as a kid.
Now this is the definitive way of how Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast should sound
Dude, i remember in theatre class. Me and some friends liked to sneak away to the backstage and just have fun, being sneaky hoping the teacher wouldn't find us, and one day we found an old CRT TV that had a slot for a vhs player, so we came up with the idea to bring my old Wii to school one day to play. So on one of the last days of school I brought it in and snuck our way backstage again brought out the wii and when we booted it up, we played SA2 Battle, Double Dash, Wii sports, so much stuff for the whole class. This video emulates how it looked on that tv so well, I'll never forget!
🥲 such a beautiful time and yet in the moment it was just pure fun wasnt it. kudos to moments like these fellas.
god the ending music from SA2 is actually making me feel emotional...
sa2 always hit harder than sa1, sayonara shadow the hedgehog
@@shadowwsecsa2 ending hits harder than sa1 ending but the locations And soundtrack of sa1 hits so hard
In both games we loose great and misunderstood heroes. Both risked their lives to save the innocent.
@@shadowwsec YOU ARE SO REAL AHHHHHH
@@shadowwsec I will get flamed for saying this but... SA2 is vastly inferior to SA1 in almost every way.
The theme of Mystic Ruins really got me, I love this vibe that the music has, and this sunset background gives a very good and relaxing feeling.
that one gets me everytme, the mystisism of it is just too much for my nostalgia
@@norekification Me too =')
Okay....the first track...and the saturation and low quality makes it feel like the end of the world. This was my childhood. I remember being bullied in high school and this was my escape
Games like Sonic Adventure are great ways to escape reality. I completely know how it feels being bullied all the time. Hope you’re doing well, stay strong!
I was around 20 during the Dreamcast era. This aesthetic is something I never thought I'd actively miss, but here we are.
lol it's funny to think about that I was like...3 yrs old. my uncle's dreamcast resisted for a while, even w/ a playstation 2 at home. he was something around your age at the time (17, if i'm not mistaken) and still, i'm way more nostalgic than him about it.
I refuse to believe this game turns 30 in 4 years.
It still baffles me that they refuse to bring back the Chao Garden. Just throw us a bone!
I love Dreamcast Sonic so very much, especially the original Sonic Adventure.
This was me in late December 1999!
The other video gave me an urge to find a Saturn for a reasonable price, but I grew up playing Adventure DX and Adventure 2 Battle so this one feels a lil more nostalgic to me. Love how it has that sound of being played through an old CRT’s speakers
The best place to get a Saturn is in Japan. Super common out there and relatively inexpensive, especially compared to the West. Getting to Japan might be expensive, but if you ever go you'll love it, (you may have been before). Definitely get a Saturn there though. 😁
Japanese Sega Saturn games tend to be cheaper as well, with some exceptions of course!
@@LowPoly32 They do! Since I've been to Japan I don't think it's worth getting important games from anywhere else now.
I couldn't tell you how often I visited the Mystic Ruin area to hear that calming song. It was my background music when I was busy doing my homework or wanted to take a quick nap after a long day at school. Your handy playlist unlocked a core memory or two.
Hearing this music just takes me back to a time where the world felt a little better i miss the old days not just because i was a kid but because how it felt
Dreamcast Era my beloved.
Ah, the 2000s. An era where rock n hip hop was peaking, anime was starting to see more headline value and people replicating it, after the time of rebellion acts was the morphing into some more in line of just party hardy and just going out to have fun while enjoying the rays of sunshine.
I’m a 90s black man and I’m glad that I not only witnessed the change but also enjoyed what I could. This video and sound quality soundtrack really did have me reminiscing the big one days of being a kid.
Thank you all for reading.
I completed an entire chapter in my study session to get ready for my state exam to get my life insurance license while listening to this entire tape. I hope I pass and make good commissions in my new job. This compilation of songs has been really nice to listen to.
How it go?
Greatest of luck! I hope everything goes well! We’re rooting for you!
It's underrated to even think about, but shoutout to all the Parents of the early 2000s that got us very young kids the games we grew up with.
We were too young to choose what we wanted for a long time, and they hoped that they picked good ones for us that we would like
Little did they know what effect it would have on our futures
To all the current & future parents, please, pick good games for your kids
I still remember being a kid renting this for the first time around 03 and it blew my mind.
its really too bad we live in such troubling times I still remember being a kid thinking the future would be better and here we are.
I can't put into words how much I miss my grandpa and spending time with my cousin at my grandparents' house with him. Half the time we would just put sound test on and play the game soundtracks like a playlist. My cousin grew up and became... a horrible person, honestly, and my grandpa passed, and my grandma isn't far from passing herself. The family is irreparably damaged, and every now and then I'll have a dream about when I was little and sitting on that old ugly sand-colored carpet in front of that massive old CRT, playing with my SonicX figures and model cars while the music from Dreamcast and Gamecube-era games played...
That's sad 😢
Hope you can endure that situation and continue life without so much sadness. ❤
All will pass jack, even if it doesn't feel like it. chin up buddy !!!
Thanks, y'all.
Sorry to hear it. I completely understand how you feel. Everything will get better soon, I promise. You’ll make it through, I believe in you! ❤️🩹
Shout out to our grandpops for everything
35:47 Was always mesmerized by this instrumental. Using it to study or drive late at night. Hearing with the filter makes miss my childhood. Aquatic Mine will always be timeless
Welcome to Station Square slaps.
This is exactly how I watched Sonic Adventure when I was a kid. Deep feels... Nostalgia hits hard
The “Dilapidated Way” track was such a vibe.
“the train headed for station square will be departing soon”
i think of heroes as a dreamcast game even though it wasnt
This just sounds so right. This is home to me.
The first 2 tracks almost made me shed a tear man times were so much simpler back then.
I'm addicted to this playlist, listen to it nearly everyday. When I look back to 2024, this is definitely going to play in my head
I was not expecting you to make a sequel/follow up to that sega saturn mix you made. Also the fact that you put a vhs filter over the sonic adventure 1 dreamcast hub worlds just make this mesmerizing and hypnotizing for me.
I did not consent to being made to cry but god damn "last scene" from SA2 always gets me for some reason.
Now this is a time machine
the youtube fyp has truly blessed me today, never knew I needed this
Take me back, take me back, take me back! 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
The low quality sound it on itself such a strange and charming thing, it's not even the "low quality" visuals on the screen, but they definitely helped. I loved this game a lot, and it was my first Sonic game.
thank you so much for this :^)
update: forgot how phenomenal Gamma's theme is. their campaign, out of the rest, had the biggest effect on me as a kid.
He was a tragic hero who left his life behind to save the innocent.
Gamma's story in SA1 > ANY Eggman & Tails stage in SA2
It's not even close lol.
@@Dorian_Scott yeah
this is literally my childhood. i adore sonic adventure, but for me personally, what I remember most is the ost of this game. it smells like summer and some incredible warmth. omg im cryin rn...
Love the Sega dream cast era days especially Sonic dream cast really make it a good console choice for back in the day.
I recall the first time I played the demo for Sonic adventure, All I knew was 2d sonic games from the genesis era. My mind was blown to be playing a 3d sonic game for the first time, and I wanted the full game so bad. when we did get it eventually, I just could not stop playing it. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 will always be some of my favorite Sonic games ever. Thank you for this!
The greatest 3D sonic game ever made and Dreamcast the most underrated system.
I'm so happy that you put _"Seven Forest"_ in this playlist. That song is so underrated.
There are many games we played throughout childhood. This will always be the most important one.
I love sonic adventure 1 so much. I think its time I replayed it for like the 4th time lol
575th time for me😂
I grew up with the remastered versions of Sonic Adventure & Sonic Adventure 2, (DX and Battle) and they will forever live in my heart, just hearing this nice calm pleasant music and having the freedom to walk around and figure things out (in SA1 at least) is a wonderful experience this was one of the first games I ever played and my dad showed it to me when I was 6, it was so nice back then to just be able to sit back and relax without a problem in the world compared to now days which are pretty hard and stressful. shuffle I never really played. but don't get me wrong I love the dreamcast version of the game as well.
"Big Fishes at Emerald Coast" hits different for fans of a certain Let's Play channel. I can still hear the screams and laughter
Oh my god yes! As soon as I heard this song it brought me right back.. That was the GOLDEN age of GameGrumps for me that playthrough! :)
Grumps and SGB losing their minds always makes me laugh 😂
Sonic Shuffle was actually a decent party game. It doesn’t get acknowledged often, nice to see the music included here.
5:56 is just immaculate, can't put into words what you managed to capture here
Hey Cory, Knuckles here!
Listening and watching this, makes you realize, boy.. what a long time ago that was!
These graphics were TOP TIER back in the day lol damn I wish I still had my Dreamcast.
Searching for the Ice Shards took me months as a kid.... God I adored every second of that game..
The first track brought me back to my childhood. I remember playing sonic demo on dreamcast having a blast!
10 seconds in and i wanna cry... nostalgia hits HARD
sonic adventure and sonic shuffle were the two games of my childhood. i have immense love for them
Sonic Shuffle is a major throwback
I've listened to this all the way through more times than I would care to admit
52:22 if hero garden doesn't play at my funeral then I'm not dying bruh
I LOVE this and the Saturn era video too! Would LOVE to see one of these done for NiGHTS... just saying~ 👀❤
Also, thanks for the heads up in regards to NTSCQT!
I second a NiGHTS one! Please use the song "Under Construction" with the Stick Canyon background if nothing else...
Love this. Take me back to 1999!
I’ve been playing this game for almost 20 years. Still my favorite
So much nostalgia. Too much nostalgia. It hurts........and I LOVE IT!!
Damn, Reflection really hits hard...
as a teen i was not gaming but was also extremely depressed. music was my only escape and i loved listening to stuff like this. around 2000 i crashed and burned and had to start over. i bought a dreamcast with sonic adventure to get my mind off everything. it really helped turn my mood aorund. this brings back good memories after a rough time thank you
Hero Garden makes me cry. I just think ab how innocent & strong this song feels back then when I played this for the first time. Really makes me feel like a kid again, thank you for making this. I really appreciate it
I listen to so much music from my old favorite games, like DIgimon, Zelda, Pokemon, and it all feels so current still. Sonic Adventure 1 music however, it will always invoke that childhood feeling in me
Back in '06 on my ps2, i remember the absolute joy i felt playing sonic riders for the first time :') im glas we all have a piece lf nostalgia together
Station square is a great song to introduce the players to the new era of sonic the hedgehog. It like spending time with the family on a rainy/ snowy night!
I remember thinking Sonic Adventure 1 was the pinnacle of open world gaming at the time.
the sonic shuffle at the start giving me mood swings not gonna lie
This video is partly why I got a sega Dreamcast in the first place along with sa1. I’m genuinely sad I never got to experience its era as I wasn’t even born around the time. And now here I am, I got my Dreamcast and I’m really glad to experience how people did back when the console first released with sa1
The way this sounds exactly like its coming out of a CRTV is absolutely incredible, bravo
Is crazy how most of the sound track I usually hear from Sonic adventure was here, what a connection
This goes extremely hard
Omg the nostalgia! The mission street song made me feel so nostalgic, no worries, just playing Sonic Adventure 2 as a 10 year old in the family tv on the living room, nice selection of beats!
how have we fallen so far from greatness
Makes me remember playing with the Chao creatures in my VMU. Awesome times.
The nostalgia man, I relived my 8-9 years old.
this is the kind of stuff youtube was made for
You actual legend, I've been listening to that Saturn mix all the time, and now Sonic Adventure gets added into a mix?
Awesome.
(Of all the retro consoles I might want to own and try for myself one day, a Dreamcast is up there...)
Personally speaking, I own a Sega Saturn and am looking into owning a Dreamcast some day too! Both are great consoles
As someone who owns two dreamcast consoles, one is the sega sports edition to play games I collected, and a regular white one with usb-gd installed, it is very well worth it! And if you get a dreampi, you can still play dreamcast games online in 2024!
Sonic shuffle! One of the most frustrating games I have ever played in my life, but my friends and I always came back to it. haha
I remember the Dreamcast days. I actually had one myself and played Sonic Adventure 2 on it and a couple RPG games on it that I don't rememvber anymore since it's been a few decades now.
I grew up on Sonic Adventure and VHS quality of movies and music videos. I love Sonic The Hedgehog OST 🎵🎶
These guitar tones are incredible.
The days where tech blew you away but it was still rudimentary all at the same time - 1999 was truly the peak of human civilization
Oh my god. I love this upload. Thank you 🙏 dude.
Perfectly gets the nostalgia and ambience down.
Will be playing this in background as a teacher
I remember buying this on launch day and being blown away by the graphics! LOL
