Kubica was utter moron. BMW was crap in 2009, he could have had amazing podium and be 3rd but no, he had to barge into faster car with idiotic "defense" that would never work anyway :(

Brawn became Mercedes-Benz after 2009, and you know the story.
@@gersian_246 Double Diffuser from Brawn, the Honda engine plant would probably have given the same result.
The fact this was a debut race and they qualified p1 and p2 is insane
And then converted it to P1 and P2 in the race as well

@@mindofvirtuoso3358 Loophole? You don't know much about F1 I'm guessing. That was the whole drama in 09. They banned double diffusers and all components like that. Brawn, Toyota, Williams all still had one. Brawn had a huge one bigger than anyone else. All teams protested but instead of banning them they allowed it and all teams were told they can run them again after a few months. So when they did finalise tech details other teams caught up and Brawn were nowhere near the fastest team after the summer break. You don't think the worst car in the field for the previous year becomes the best by a mile without cheating do you? Especially an independent team that just started with no sponsors and leftover engines. Wow you are so naive. Brawn has always been a cheater, from Benetton to Ferrari and his own team

This was Jenson's SECOND Grand Prix win. And he went on to win the title... Incredible.
JB is a legend. Plus Montreal 2011. It’ll take a miracle to beat that race.

FyreSpit he braked early as you can see And tried to catch up later And missed the gap he had. If he made mistake he shouldnt push in later because it resultet in him not making this corner as thight as he had to And crashed in kubice

Trulli's performance is so underrated... He stormed from pit lane to P3, scoring such a great podium for Toyota.

Pre-DRS time with several teams had just developed KERS. 2009 season was entertaining for sure. Did anyone expect to see Brawn and Red Bull as the main contenders for championship battle before the season begin?
Actually a lot did. There were massive changes from 2008 to 2009 and teams that were not in any contention in mid 2008 already planned for 2009, giving them a huge edge cause the rules for 2009 were out very early. Ferrari and McLaren, who fought for the 2008 title, simply could not overcome that time deficit. And you can see through the 2009 season how Brawn GP slowly lost their lead.
@@bowlchamps37 I see. Maybe because here the news about it was lacking so I was surprised when Brawn GP showed up and smashed the competition. I did notice the car was different, but just found out recently about that rule change.
It's not entertaining when a team have clinch the constructor title just a little over halfway through the season. The real Thriller is 2010. 4 way battle in the final race. 3 different team. That's what I call entertaining.
@@rockzs74r Agreed. 2010 was awesome. With Schumacher returned, I was so hyped back then. Though sadly he couldn't perform well like when with Ferrari.
@@setiapratamadupi he was hired by Mercedes to work alongside Brawn and give feedback to develop their car. And it works the car improved every year. But once the car is competitive he is not needed. He actually say that he considering new contract for 2013 and 2014 season. Then, all of sudden Hamilton knocking on the door. But had he stayed, I think Nico will outperform him. Not only because Schumi is declining. But Nico Rosberg is actually really good.

Probably my favorite GP ever. Brawn was such a miracle, an unique force. I loved to see Button & Barichello who almost had no job, to eventually deliver the way they did.
Barrichello car is unbreakable!
Beautiful example of how we do not need DRS, ERS, or any other mechanic for having plentiful of overtakes.

Me recordo como se fosse ontem eu acordando de madrugada ansioso pra ver essa corrida, no começo considero dois erros do Rubinho nesses toques, mas depois uma corrida de recuperação muito boa. É incrível esse pódio no final pois os dois caras da Brawn alí eram os prováveis desempregados de 2008 pra 2009. Considero essa a maior chance do Rubens de título, fecharia com chave de ouro a carreira brilhante.
Man, i had forgotten that Barrichello drove like an absolute bellend that race. And he even got a podium out of it, just because that beautiful Brawn was sooo good... Seriously, the phoenix from ashes story that season was something to behold

An equivalent of this would have been Manor rocking up at the 2017 opener, and Haryanto dropping it on pole and then dominating the race. So hard to believe this actually happened.
No it wouldn't, Brawn GP was Honda in 2008 and they weren't last in Championship that year, they were a midfield team.
Jonas der Goz ok they finished 2nd last that season. They were still shit. I compared them to Manor cos Manor folded at the end of 2016 like Honda left the sport at the end of 2008

I really hope that Ross Brawn has slipped in a few sly loopholes into the upcoming reg changes to produce this sort of stuff again, look at what a little room for innovation produced. Best F1 season in the 2000's yet for me.

I think I actually liked V8s more than V10s - which is an extremely unpopular opinion. Mainly because I grew up with them. Also the blown diffuser in 2011 was beautiful.
