    Hey guys, I'm sorry about the audio glitches in the video. Especially between the 5:00 and 15:00 minute marks the audio skips a second every now and then. I'm still on the fence on whether I want to rerecord it in hindsight - the rest of the video seems to be mostly fine. I'm also not sure how to fix it in the future, my Blue Yeti has been doing this from time to time lately and my only fix so far has been to change the USB port but that's not a great solution. Anyway, just so you know that I'm aware of it, and it's probably annoying me just as much as it is you guys.

      I've generally not heard positive things about the Blue Yeti, or for that matter, most USB microphones. I'm sure there are some good USB mics out there, but most don't have a lot of longevity (from what I have heard).Maybe not a solution for now, but something worth considering in the future is buying an XLR microphone and an external sound adapter with an XLR input on it.My set up is an AudioTechnica AT2020 (which they also make in a USB flavor if you don't want to spend money on the sound adapter) with a Presonus AudioBox iOne. A total cost of about $200/$260 (The mic is on sale at the time of writing, thus the wide price difference) You'll need an XLR cable too, although I think it's possible to get one bundled with either the mic or the interface.
      I've been using this set up for 4 years now, and has traveled with me to 2 different countries and 5 different homes, so I think they are quite reliable.

    One thing that I've noticed about experience ratings is that putting cash machines in a park actually makes it rather difficult to get good experience ratings. Experience ratings are only generated when guests write reviews while leaving the park. Guests usually leave when they a) run out of money, or b) get upset. Guests that are upset leave bad reviews, bringing the experience rating down. Guests that are happy stay in the park as long as they can, and as long as a guest stays in the park, they never leave a review to bring up the experience rating. Cash machines keep guests in the park longer, which means fewer happy guests leave and write positive reviews, which makes it difficult to raise the experience rating.

    • @senseweaver01

      And of course, not putting cash machines makes it harder for you to reach the operating costs. Fun times all round

    Manhattan Express/Big Apple Coaster/whatever you want to call the TOGO at the New York New York Hotel in Las Vegas costs $15 to ride IIRC. There are actually a good number of coasters in the $10-15 range in the US, but I'm not aware of any that cost more off hand.

    You always make my parks look like kindergarten-level stuff, I love watching your videos a lot. In my playthrough of this park, I had a crappy-ass steel rollercoaster and a wild mouse I ruined by adding block sections in weird places, but I still managed to get the goal, so yeah. Also, tons of flat rides, but most of them were the initial ones.

    I'm uploading blueprints to the workshops right now, so if you want to use some of the coasters from this playthrough in your park, check my Steam Workshop page down below. • @Mistwind91

    Thanks for the great episode again silv ! You really beat that level easily, i was shocked :D But that first coaster is a real cash machine.
    From what i learned in the game, the "depot" thingy where you can stock supplies serves as well as a trashbin for your workers. The trash building is helpful when you dont want to build the depot but want your janitors to dont walk half the park to find a place to get rid of the trash bags.
    Also, for the roads behind shops, i find useful to use common road with a "no entry for guest" sign, then workers'road. The first road is connected either inside the building or outside, and this way i dont lose any scenery ratings.
    And thank you for the inspiration, i really like to see your episode before, and now after i completed a scenario, it pushs me to get better and more creative :)
    edit: also i discovered that all mods that add pieces to the game are disabled in campaign mode, so everyone has to do it vanilla like you. Except for the mods that let you select what to hide and show the trace of the coaster when building, and i guess pov mods or things like that works as well.

    Nice. I loved this scenario as well. A relaxed objective and a beautiful visual.
    There is currently a bug with the loan objective: You complete it with starting the park and it doesn't reset, even if you take a loan. Aside from that: Take loans when you want to build large coasters, as those rake in the cash. Just make sure they have good ratings and a well timed throughput. Repaying loans is a piece of cake when you have the license to print money.
    The timed goals ("Reach all non-optional goals before x") actually count if you only quickly reach them. Example: You need 600 guests, and get the 600th guest before the time limit because of some temporary event or ad campaign you run. Then guest leave and you fall below 600. The time goal is achieved, since you only need to reach the goals, not hold them like you would have to when trying to win the scenario.

But in this case I was pretty happy with my results. I kept the islands intact and had the attractions on the islands only (excluding one rollercoaster which stretched over two islands), so that the small island structure was kept intact. I tried to copy a lot what you did here (albeit not exactly) as I'm trying to learn ideas for how to not make my park all look identical, but still cohesive (which you referenced in this video). I like the simple 2x2 queue line covers that you did, very simple but so on point and on theme. I'm curious though why you don't cover the whole queue, do covered queues score more bonus points from the guests? Are uncovered queue squares counted as neutral or negative in the guest experience if it is raining/extremely hot? Or is it just an aesthetic thing? I like "raincover" option to see where in the park the guests can be dry but they don't seem to gather in those areas while it is raining, so I don't understand why it's there.

    I think a majority of the community uses a pause-and-build style gameplay. I know this isn't totally your thing, but I would love to see you challenge yourself on one of these maps and see what you would come up with. I think you'd be surprised at how close you could come to your normal parks while still being able to gold them. All it takes is some smart coaster building and park layout which you're totally good at. We just never get to see the payout of these choices really pay off because you keep the clock running. Also, you aren't really able to benefit from the investment that you make doing big construction projects because most of the time, you're running the park without those big rides, which is probably at a deficit. Anyhow, love the videos, thanks for all you do.

    • @Silvarret
      @Silvarret  5 років тому +1

      I really like this idea. I don't care much about golding scenarios, but you're right about the costs of building while letting the game play; also, I think it'd be an interesting way to include real-time segments while waiting for the park to start running. That said - and I know this is not a very rational argument - I'm used to building while the game is unpaused (I suppose a lifetime of playing RCT1 is responsible for that), so if I prefer that in the end, I'll keep playing this way.

    I think in German 'e' at the end of any word is never silent, although I'm not sure whether it is true or not in case of "Heide Park" (but most likely is). But certainly 'w' in "Schwarzkopf" and every other German word is pronounced like 'v'. I hear this mistake so often...
    Don't take that as an insult, I just want people to be aware how things are pronounced in non-english languages.
    By the way, these rules also apply to Polish language ;)

    Hey Silvarret! I am just going to ask this here because for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere... I am struggling so hard with block brakes.
    I can't find anywhere a good normal tutorial that just either does not go off topic completely, or has terrible video quality or is just 20 minutes long without much explanation...
    I want to use them to have just more than 3 karts in the wild mouse coaster, however they just make every kart stop every time at one...
    I don't understand the trim speed if clear option either because it changes nothing to my scenario. Even if I add a lot. They just stop everywhere and make the ride so unrealistic and boring. Guests just have to sit so long everywhere...
    I am just frustrated sorry.
    Do you know a guide that actually works?

    Batavia Cay? Is it coincidence that there's a scenario named Batavia when in Europa Park there once was a ride called "Piraten in Batavia"? :D

      No idea, it was Josh who made that scenario! But I don't think there's any particular reason behind the name, haha.

    Silv try and do some audio tests before recordings and of it occurs try resting the suitors settings of the microphone and put it back to what you had before a restart

    This might be irrelevant but you should make a series with planet coaster where you build a park and try to operate it. Maybe get inspired by some existing parks 😮

    I have been trying to crack this park for 5 days, but have failed Everytime. Any tips for me? Also this park is amazing and I wish I could build to such a beautiful extent.

    If you think 15 is much for a coaster, then you have never been to the Oktoberfest in Munich.

    What is the Autocomplete feature? I can't seem to find it..

    • @Silvarret
      @Silvarret  5 років тому +1

      It's not really a visible feature, all the game does is automatically snap to tracks that are close enough - but they have to be really close to do it. It's mostly to fix the issue people used to have when e.g. the station is at a height of 6, but the track going to the station is at 6 1/8.

    What about the Prototype Raptor at Gardaland? It starts with a normal drop 😄

    • @Silvarret
      @Silvarret  5 років тому

      Good point! Maybe B&M figured out the dive drop on a later model and decided to stick with it for all the subsequent coasters. I have to say, it's one of my favourite elements as a first drop, the slow rotating hangtime beats almost any normal drop for me.
