It sounds like your surgeon made a great choice with the quad tendon graft! The quadriceps tendon is an excellent option for ACL reconstruction, as it’s strong and provides good structural support for the knee. Using it also tends to cause less anterior knee pain compared to a patellar tendon graft, which can be a significant advantage during recovery. Since the quad is the strongest muscle in the body, it has the capacity to heal and adapt well after the procedure. Focus on your rehabilitation plan and strengthening exercises to ensure the quad tendon and surrounding muscles recover fully. Wishing you a smooth and strong recovery!

While this graft is highly effective for restoring knee stability, it can temporarily weaken the patellar tendon itself. Here’s how it works: • Temporary weakening: When the middle third of the patellar tendon is harvested for the ACL reconstruction, the tendon may be weaker at first. This can result in some post-surgery knee pain, especially when kneeling or doing activities that put pressure on the front of the knee. • Recovery: Over time, the body adapts, and the patellar tendon usually heals well. Most people regain full function and strength in both the tendon and the knee after a proper rehabilitation process. • Long-term effects: In most cases, the patellar tendon recovers its strength after the surgery and rehabilitation. However, there is a small risk of complications, such as anterior knee pain or patellar tendonitis, which can persist in some patients, though these are not common. With proper rehab and care, the patellar tendon typically returns to near-normal function without long-term weakness. It’s essential to follow the surgeon’s post-op instructions and complete physical therapy to support the healing of both the reconstructed ACL and the patellar tendon.

We really recommend getting imaging and a proper diagnosis. Locking sensation and swelling could indicate something like a bucket handle meniscus tear, but an orthopedic doctor would need to examine your individual knee.
This seems almost worse than the alternative? All these holes in the bone and removing that much ligament from another area? What better way to repair a torn ligament by tearing another ligament!!
@@DanAce-f3n IDK, sometimes surgery adds a lot of trauma and just makes things worse. I would rest and support the knee with a brace and let things heal.
a fully torn acl cannot repair itself or reconnect itself. if it was not a complete tear, maybe. but yes, some people decide to not go with an acl reconstruction surgery and do intensive physical therapy (again, this won’t heal the acl, but will ensure your muscles are strong enough to support your knee despite the lack of an acl) - i am sure pros and cons with both options and depends on your lifestyle what you will go with
It doesn't heal itself. Your other ligaments will compensate for the lack of ACL but you'll just be putting stress elsewhere, and it can cause other long term damages.
@@nonav.968 I found this video and there are more videos that claim yes the ACL can heal without surgery. The bigger the tear the longer it takes. Looks like say athletes who are wanting a quick fix will opt for surgery because who know how long healing takes. Otherwise I agree -- a knee injury can affect the rest of the muscles in the body. I injured some ligament in my knee and could not bear any weight for 3 days. Two weeks later am back to walking 2 miles almost every day - The knee still hurts but not more so after walking. Yep, all my other muscles are sore.

Bro no way there’ll be a gap in the patellar to replace acl
But wouldnt that effect and weakens your fronylt tendom
While this graft is highly effective for restoring knee stability, it can temporarily weaken the patellar tendon itself.
Here’s how it works:
• Temporary weakening: When the middle third of the patellar tendon is harvested for the ACL reconstruction, the tendon may be weaker at first.

With complete tears who don't experience symptoms of knee instability during low-demand sports and are willing to give up high-demand sports
Who do light manual work or live sedentary (inactive) lifestyles
There is increasing evidence that children with ACL tears are at high risk for future damage to the meniscus or cartilage with nonsurgical management.

Its common in football, they recover very fast
They have access to world class medical care they will recover soon
That hurts
You're not wrong.
wym? the injury or the surgery? the injury hurts, but you will not feel anything the day after if tou take the right preventions, wear a band, put ice in the zone to prevent swelling, move the knee the less you can
if tou talk about the surgery, i found the anesthesia the more painful thing lol
@@pep.monacowhat about the anasthesia was painful, I am currently waiting for my surgery

Can you guys help me if its serious or nah. When i play football its fine but when i do a strong finish when im running fast. i get that feeling at my knee and feel swelling . and when i getback home i feel locked in inmy leg for some hours then its back to normal. pls help
We really recommend getting imaging and a proper diagnosis. Locking sensation and swelling could indicate something like a bucket handle meniscus tear, but an orthopedic doctor would need to examine your individual knee.
Poor drose man
😧horrible..., It's not a tree branch.it's human legg Naa...😶
This seems almost worse than the alternative? All these holes in the bone and removing that much ligament from another area?
What better way to repair a torn ligament by tearing another ligament!!
Doesn't the ligament repair itself?
No that’s why you get surgery
This shit inhumane
I understand your concern. Surgical procedures can be quite intense, and it’s natural to feel that way when watching something that involves the body. However, many of these surgeries are performed to relieve pain, restore function, and significantly improve patients’ quality of life.
Wtf?
Здравствуйте, мне год назад сделали такую операцию соединили крестообразный связки . Но моя не восстанавился как раньше.
