Good video ! I have been a ham radio operator for 60 years now and the SDR UNO software is very definitely well-designed and very useful for a huge variety of scenarios. I do have one Big Beef: The very flimsy nature of SMA connectors per se. Why the various RSP units use this connector for the antennas is incomprehensible. A BNC is much more rugged.
Interesting and helpful video before I dip my toes in the world of SDR ( still love my portable Tecsun PL880) I run Mac OSX M1 - will the software work with latest OSX operating system Ventura 13.3 - thanks
Had a RSP1A for a day and learning SDRuno software. This youtube video was helpful. My RSP1A with a Skyscan Desktop 25-1300MHZ discone antenna needs a lot more signal strength than my stereo receiver using a simple FM dipole aerial and AM loop antenna to receive local AM and FM radio stations. Is this normal?
Hi Steve...I am a ham and have been inactive for years but interested in playing w the SDRplay ...how does the sensitivity compare with a standard receiver such as the Kenwood 930 for listening to weak signal CW on 40M?
Outstanding vido as usual. Everything working fine, SDRuno + SDRduo with antenna via external splitter into my IC-7610. The problem is that whenever I switch bands on SDRuno it does not switch the ANT 1 function to ANT 1/R and I have to switch it over manually. Any suggestion what to look for?
If you mean changing the antenna on the rig that is beyond the scope of Omnirig, it only transfers frequency information. SDRuno knows nothing about your rig's capabilities.
I had SDRuno installed on my Windows 10 desktop and it was working with my nescrsmart rsp. After my system crashed a few months ago, I reinstalled all the apps I normally used. I forgot to reinstall my RSP receiver apps. I've tried installing the latest version of SDRuno (1.42-1014) but whenever I start it, it tells me "No RSPs found", asks if I want to start it with a WAV file, and, when I say NO, it closes. I am able to start it with the SDRuno (EXTIO) file, it works but none of the other windows open. I've searched your site for an explanation. No luck. Please tell me where I can find instructions for using the non-SDR RSP as the default. Thanks, Clem
I had a problem - device wouldn't start up and I was seeing a yellow exclamation in device settings - turned out it was the USB cable, I tried a different one and it worked. Maybe that USB cable was too old.
Does it matter what sdr software you use? Or is it just whatever you like best. Because I am using sdr console v3 and I like it way better but not sure if there is any downside of it.
Sure. You can have unlimited copies of SDRuno across multiple computers. The only prerequisite is that you you have a genuine SDRplay unit in order to run the latest version and access all the features.
Just purchased the RSP do. During the install rec’d error message “ no rsp can be found. Would you like to start SDRuno with a WAV file. Any thoughts ?

What would be VERY helpful to the many of us who use Apple products is to include a separate video on setting those up. Apple processors and laptops are changing rapidly. I followed the instructions for installing software until I got to the Mac-specific part, which is not at all like what the video was explaining; following Windows instructions is not useful for Mac products and the options available are quite different.
