Hi, very helpful video. My p10 lite felt in the toilet and I leave for one night drying. But then is suddenly turn on by it self,it seem to work fine, even the finger prints censor. but then it when off by it self too. What would be the reason should i take it to the repair shop?
Thanks. There must be a short circuit somewhere in the motherboard or electronic part. If you don't have experience, bring it to the repair shop. Good luck

Hi, I'm a p10 lite user and after watching your incredible tutorial I have one question, after doing everything, do you put the back glass with some special glue?

hello: i guess the p10 selfie could have same problems? or maybe not, this is what it happen phone inside my backpack with 2 boxes of almod milk and it felt from my bike and the milk boxes xploded and since i guess my phone was on the other pocket i letf it for 45 minutos till i got home y realize that the part was cover by the milk was 2 inches aprox. on the side of the camneras the phone when off did not try to turn it on left it for a week then the lenses did not have drops of water but then a friend suggest i should heated with the blow drier and it appear the little drop now i left it again on rice. something i forot to mention is that after 3-4 days i remember i need to take out the sim card and sd card and when i did came out with milk not much but wet. :( i dont know what to do what would you suggest, do you have any xperience on the Selfie ?? thank you in advance for your answer
Hello. Since milk came inside your phone, you will have to open and disassemble the phone. Then you will need to clean it. The procedure will be like in the video. Depends which parts inside got affected. If you don't have experience, bring it to a friend who has experience or in a repair shop. Good luck

Hey I need some help, some time ago I broke my P10 Lite s screen, not much, just a little crack and i am not sure it goes beyond the protection glass on my phone (the original one, never changed it, the one you get on the pack, I suppose)
Aaand, today I took a shower with my phone near and got quite wet and I believe some of the steam and water got inside that crack. its located down-left, heading up to almost centre.
Now the problem is everytime im trying to open it by using the power button, it opens but stays like that for about 2 seconds and then blackscreen.
Put it in rice, let it dry, even tried sucking off the water =)))
But its still like that
And im very concerned, as I need this phone a whole damn lot, you cant even imagine.
Anything I can do?
And also, whenever I press harder on the screen it instantly goes into blackscreen again, with me being able to reopen it by using power button but it always does the same.
Help.
If you have experience, try to follow the video. Open it, clean the display contacts, dry it...and try. Good luck
so yesterday i dropped my phone in the bath tub about a quarter and after less than a second i grabbed it and dried it in a towel i checked if the mic or speaker we re stuffed but they worked perfectly and the i plugged it in less than a second to check if it still charges and it worked pertfectly but after 10 minsmy screen suddently got stuck in smart cover mode and then it started switching between the lock screen and the smart cover screen and then the vibration motors started vibrating without stopping and then after aproximately 20 to 25 mins after i dropped it i shut it down and put it in rice and im going to let it sit for about 48 hours. is there any chances of it burning the components and never turning on after the 48 hours sitting in rice? Should i consider buying a new phone?

hi guys me I'm using P10 not lite ya double camera at the back so it fallen in the pool then we take it to the service they told me that they tried nd failed to fixed it so my phone is still off it doesn't switch on guys is that a sign for my phone that is dead ? is there anything I can do ??
Depends what did they try in the service center. The phone must be disassembled, everything cleaned with alcohol and brushed. The battery must be tested and the screen. If you don't have experience it will be hard. Good luck
My p10 lite dropped in water and was there 1 second and i didnt put it in rice and it works perfectly (edit: i put it in rice cuz i was too scared of it breaking)
What chemical do you use to clean the motherboard and what alturnative could you use
Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning, you can use high % alcohol or some other cleaning liquid for electronics
So I don't know if you still reply under this video but someone spilled water over my phone while it lied on the table. Now my phone thinks that headphones are in all the time and the volume button is constantly pressed down what can I do?
You will have to watch the video and clean all headphone jack contacts and around and also the volume button contacts with alcohol or other cleaning liquid. Good luck

Comenting because I see that you usually answer people. So, my P10 Lite fell on the toilet and after a few minutes it completely stopped working. I got no experience to do what you did on the video, any tips?
I try my best...just don't have always time. So, your phone got a bath. If you can work good with hands and are precise and carefully, you could try to go step by step like on my video. But if you dont have experience, put your phone in a bag with some silica gel and bring it to a repair shop. Your chances are 50 / 50. Good luck!

Kept it in rice for 2 days (for nothing as your other reply says).
The phone is fully functional BUT both cameras now have condensation between the lens and the case.
Do I still have to go to the service center?
Can I do something at home to remove that moisture?

Hi and thanks. If you have experience you can remove the back cover and then both of the cameras. And let it dry slow in some warm place but don't use hot air as it can damage the cameras. And know it can take couple of days for the moisture to disapear. You could add also some silica gel. Good luck and happy new year :)
CrocFIX thank you for the answer. The moisture from the back camera disappeared after a night spent on the room heater (max 60°C).
Wondering whether a visit to service is still a must if the phone works.

Depends. If everything is working you can skip the service. But just in case I suggest you to do a full back up of the phone from time to time, as you never can trust a phone which was in liquid once. I for myself would open it, check and clean with alcohol if necessary. But on the other hand i had and old huawei...years ago, before i started doing repairs, which i droped in a bucket of Cuba libre drink...didn't open it and it's still working today. :) I think you will be fine. Just look if some changes will apear with the phone or unusual behavior. Good luck
Hi. My phone (p10 plus) submerged in sea water for at least 30 mins. The screen turns black when I discovered it. I left it in uncooked rice for 24 hours and blow dry it after. It shows that it is charging and i heard that my alarms rings but the screen is still black. Would you know what seems to be the problem?
Salt water is a big issue. I would say that the contacts on the connector and on the back of the lcd screen were covered with water and probably corrosion started to work. So you will have to disassemble the screen from the frame carefully and clean the contacts. And also check the motherboard. The screen is glued with a very strong adhesive glue, so it's almost impossible to seperate the LCD from the frame, without breaking it without the right tools. Probably you will have to replace the screen. Good luck

Everything's good so far but my phone's sound is kind of buzzing when it's on the max volume. What do you advise me to do? My dad recently gifted it to me and I'm afraid that I will have to tell him that it's now broken...
Water is always a problem. Moisture came inside the speaker, that's why the sound. A technician can fix it.

My Huawei P10 lite got wet, I dried it and everything works except the fingerprint sensor, even the option in settings disappeared. Can this be fixed?
Yes. You will have to take it apart and clean the fingerprint sensor contats or maybe replace it. Good luck
Hey CrocFIX, sorry to bother you on an old video like this, but I'd like to ask, I own a P10 (VTR-L09) and I managed to get a lot of water inside it (slipped into a bucket of water, thank god it was clean), I panicked and it bathed for about 15 seconds, my question is that if I disassemble it and clean out the water, will I encounter any glued-together parts, or I will be able to reassemble it again without any problems?
Hope you can help me, I'm in some deep shit cuz' I'm out of money and the warranty is over. Thanks in advance
Hey...you will need to follow the video...take apart, clean, dry...the p10 doesnt have the back made of glass, so there should't be a glue problem. Good luck
I know it's not the prettiest phone from the inside but since the back is glass, is it possible to make the back transparent?

Not in this case, but on another phone everything did work except, the computer didn't recognize the phone when connected to the USB port and it got a message after booting
my p20 lite fell into the toilet for a sec and it turned off. its been 24hrs and still cant be turn on. is there any hope? wht should i do other than soaking it in rice?
Never charge a phone after water damage. Open, clean, dry, try
Is there a crack on the phone screen? Only the p10 Pro is waterproof at a ip67 rating. Depending on how you handle this situation it could be OK.

There must be liquid inside the phone and a short circuit. You have to open and clean it. Or maybe in worst case replace the wifi chip

Hey so my phone fell in the toilet.
after that i let it dry in rice. After a couple of hours i started the phone it worked and i could see the huawei logo but after that it only showed me black screen with a clock on it. I could do a hardreset and i did it. Then after hardreset it showed me again a blackscreen with clock on it. Thats why i opened it and try to clean it inside. I did that. After the cleaning it only shows me blackscreen. I replaced my touchscreen with another one but the problem stays the same it only shows me blackscreen.

There could be a problem on the motherboard. Some short or still moisture somewhere

My girlfriends phone dropped in water for a few minutes and the lcd backlight is not working, it worked for a little while and now stopped working at all, how should I fix it? In the guarantee they said they have to change the motherboard but the phone is working and you can see the screen if you use a flashlight.

@@CrocFIX I tried it yesterday and it didn't work, but I found out that it has same battery as my honor 8, which by the way has a bad battery so I think in the future I'll try to change the battery from huawei to honor or honor motherboard on p10 lite
i tried rice, dryer and sunlight...there is no sign of charging, for both p 9 lite and p 10 lite. help me?
Unfortunately just leaving the phone in rice won't help. You will have to open the phone, disassembe all parts with the smal metal pieces on the motherboard, clean the board with alcohol and let it dry. Then you can try again. But remember, you will have to have some experience to do so. For the P10 lite you can watch my video tutorial. Good luck
I tried, but now screen touch not working took it to 3 places they said mainboard must be replaced, but they got no stock , any ideas what else I can do, thanks
If you tried 2 or more screens and they told you it's the motherboard, you should think about new phone. Or do you have important data which you want to backup?

i did all of that in the video and still nothing, what could be damage by the water to cause it not to charge
There can be different issues. Some short circuit, defective chip, defective battery, charging port...
oh ok, maybe short circuit is the case, because when it fell in the water, the top part of it got very hot and when it cool down, nothing else came from it. so what u think i should change?
It's hard to say, without having the phone here. A chip could be damaged or a resistor or anything else. For a water damaged phone is hard to say. The best if you don't have experience and the cleaning didn't help you, you bring it to a repair shop. Good luck
