If you wonder why Eminem is so reserved and keeps to himself, it is because when he became famous, everything about his life was open to the public. He put a lot of his family and legal issues in songs, while the media dug up more that didn't make it into his music. Countless news stories and documentaries were made about his troubled life. Today, Eminem is super private. He regrets a lot of the personal stuff that were made public. He just wants privacy for his family and himself. I can respect that

Most people only view him for his music but forget he is a human being like the rest of us who had to overcome trauma, addiction, losing Ronnie and Proof, raising his daughter during his feud with Kim, etc. He is still here at 51 years old and I am certainly thankful for his music.

In a way, I think his writing and making music provided him the therapeutic & emotional outlet that without which, his life may have gone down a much more frequently traveled path. I wish I could meet him someday. IDK why but he's the only celebrity I can think of that would totally render me speechless - and if you knew me- you'd understand that is very hard to accomplish haha ☘

Since the start, when I first knew of Eminem and his music, I admired his raw vision, I loved that he used cathartic expression to heal from the hurts he'd experienced throughout his life. The track "Lose Yourself" is a track I always return to when I am wavering. It's so easy to lose the courage needed to move through life, " Lose Yourself " helps me to remember I am strong and that nothing and no one can hurt me, that I deserve the life of my choosing.

Wow! I haven’t listened to any of his stuff but just started looking into his life today. He had a rough life. It’s a miracle he has been so successful with all the bad things that have happened to him. Severe closed head injury happened to him when he was beat up and put into a coma. I am a Christian and will be adding him and his family to my prayers. 💞

I Love Eminem, and this Video has awoken a BURST of RESPECT for him!! This man has been through Hell and Back, and was able to stand back up after getting knocked down so many times, all the Haters will never understand how Influential this man was in his Prime, and to this day he’s still Beloved by ALL. Thank you EMINEM, for being You. 🙂

People that weren't alive or were too young to remember what it was like during Em's prime won't realize the way he took the game by storm, he was an entire cultural movement, opened the doors for Detroit, white teenagers around the world were bleaching their hair. You don't have to like his music but realize that he is a living legend, it's just sad that when an artist outlives their prime they are no longer respected like they once were.

When you look at the life he's endured, his achievements become all the more outstanding. He was set up in a way that could only fail yet managed to make something out of it and most of all, avoided making the same mistakes with his daughter as the ones made by his own mother and his ex-wife.

Man had an extremely shitty life from the day he was born well into his 20s. He was involved in some bad shit and he suffered a lot. But the fact that he broke the chain of abuse and did whatever he could to keep his daughter away from all the bad things that were happening. The way he tried to shield her from the evil in his life. That takes a lot of strength, to not let your darkness consume everyone around you too. He was a pretty messed up guy doing some pretty messed up things and having some pretty messed up relationships with almost everyone in his life, but Hailee gave him the will to live. And he protected her as best he could. She turned out pretty well too, a respectable young woman who lives a good life.
And it is for that reason that, no matter how I feel about feel about some of the things he has done or the way he can be sometimes, I respect the hell out of Eminem.

I respect Em, and he was one of the ppl that got me into rap. He's a very generous being, and has shown that he truly cares about the Rap World.
But with that being said, I can still see why ppl call him overrated.
Ppl say he's overrated due to how much a lot of his fans overly praise him (glaze him). Constantly saying he's the "GOAT" or the "King of Rap", when people like Naz and 2pac exist(ed). Matter of fact, a lot of them say he's better than both of these people. And I think that we all know that there isnt and shouldnt be any true king/queen of rap, as there are so many rap styles/artists, that it would be unfair to many, but if there was, I dont believe Em would be the "King of Rap", though, pretty close.
I also believe his influence on the rap culture was both a blessing and a curse. His style of rapping was a refreshment to the generic rap style that a lot of others had, and his alter ego, Slim Shady, provided a spotlight on the more lyrically violent side/background of rap.
Though, as Em leaned towards speed-rapping, a lot of his fans (especially the younger generations), believed that that was the 'true style of rap', which swayed their opinions in a way and caused a massive wave of 'Old-Gen Rap Activists', as i like to call them.
These younger ones would absolutely HATE the new gen of mumble rappers (as they should), but would call and praise Em's style of rapping as 'true/model rapping' and would believe that rap without it being lyrically fast isnt rap, which warped kids' idea of the rap world a lot in the 2016-18 period.
