I got this at a video game expo so saved shipping and the mail service denting it up.
It is a great book, huge heavy! Some of the 4 and 5 star games I do not agree with, it and some less than that should be higher....but with like 700 games most are reviewed within a close range. its fun to flip through and see the reviews of old favorites. Love him or hate him Pat Contri knows and has passion for the NES
This one has alot of reviews on Kickstarter, who are a critical mass and amazon also etc. most praise it as positive. Yeah some pages are layed out a little cluttered, I'm not a Contri fan boy at all....at all. I dont think $60 is cheap for a book...but I think thats what it worth now that I have my hands on it.
Good intro! I like that you went back to the old narration, it's got a better rythm to it.
It is an amazing book. It's also to see Pat's star rating on the games. Pat does good stuff, well mostly. Nah I kid! Pat's good peoples.
I just bought this and look forward to getting it. I still love looking through books and magazines, as opposed to online. Looks great.

I would love to get it, but shipping it to where I live is more expensive than the book itself. As much as I like Pat and this book, I'm not paying $130 bucks for it. And I'm not really into digital books. It sucks that this isn't more widespread available. This is why publishers exist.

Mark. Please review Pat Contri himself. Bring him in and pick away at everything about him. Top to bottom. Don't forget the eyeliner. Then compare him to Truxton. While Ian is in a volcano with a flamethrower. For good measure.

Yeah I still find Pat's Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat joke funny because it's not like he is clubbing you over the head with it, but I got sick of the Truxton and Cosmic Carnage jokes a long time ago.

Darius Truxton yeah but here he says he got a NES before a Genesis which just seems kinda weird cause he's a fan of the 7800 and the Genesis so you'd think he got the 7800 and Genesis when they first came out?

I bought the book and its good. Not great but good. Some of the ratings are very questionable and subjective and some of his thoughts are very lacking and uninformative. I would have loved better anecdotes for the games and more of a review than some funny snip it or follow up back hand comment that doesn't really at all explain why a game is getting the score it was given by the reviewer.
Its a great guide to every game on the system and just looks nice flipping through the pages. But it just is lacking a bit and should have had more reviews and details on the game than he truly does offer would be my true complaint of the book. I realize its over 800 games and all but still it needed just a bit more in the means of actual opinions and background of the games being scored here, especially for the price charged for it.
