What astonishes me the most in these kinds of fights is the fact that none of these massive, powerful and highly skilful boxers, eg. ; David Haye, Evander Holyfield,... can barely harm a guy like Valuev. Can you imagine having that level of edge on a fist fight? Despite this, the outcome of these great matches are proof that size is not necesarily determinant when it comes to boxing (as long as the skills are there), as guys much smaller than Valuev (in the ring, Holyfield and Haye look like children in comparison with Valuev) have defeated him, thanks to their higher level skills. Loved watching this fight. Im 5'11 when i fought a 6'10 in 2003, I went in knowing i would win, and in the sixth round was stopped, winning that fight was all about the mentality... like haye.

Weight allows you to tire a guy out by leaning on him and makes it easier on the inside in clinch situations to move your opponent around and tire him out. Having too much weight causes you to sacrifice speed and movement though so it's best for a heavyweight to have the correct balanced weight for his frame. Valuev was a true Giant with a massive frame. This is kinda like a poor man's Dempsey vs Willard. Only had 2 losses by Majority decision, to Haye and to Chagaev, but he didn't fight the Klitschkos or he'd have had another.
