I love how you are playing as just a regular patron, with other people on the course, and average weather, and you show all your less than perfect shots. That crazy drive on 18 was icing on the cake! Very cool. I was fortunate enough to play The Old Course in 2006. I shot 92, which for me was a rewarding score. My best memory from that day comes on the 18th hole as well. I hit a nice drive just short of the crosswalk, then hit a 9-iron to 4 feet. The folks gathered behind the stone bridge applauded me as I walked up to the green. I felt like a rock star. Then, when I missed the birdie putt and the crowd moaned, I felt like a roadie. :)

I'm always interested in how they're doing too, whoever it may be. Would just say, I think the overlay didn't look that great. Hi Rick love watching the shows! Would love to see guys scores as you go round also. I know it's the rick shiels YT but from a viewers perspective it's intrsisting to follow the score of another person rather than just you. Hope this doesn't come across as rude. Love the vids either way😊

Best I’ve ever seen Guy play, he was lights out. I’m just an average golfer these days and never been a scratch guy…but I’ve had those rounds where it all seems to come together for you but a few bad holes make you want to snap your clubs. 😂
And that has to be one of the wildest eagles I’ve ever seen. Great video, I smiled the whole time. Glad you guys are enjoying life.

I have to say, as a fan of the channel (and the other one), and the podcast and the Break 75 series - It's an absolute pleasure seeing you play good golf and smiling as you wander round the course. After quite a lean trot recently, I'm super pleased for you :-)

There is no way that ball naturally bounced and rolled to there on 18. I mean, there is a slight chance....and it may have happened. But my guess is that someone grabbed it and tossed it on to the green. Surprised Rick didn't as to see if someone helped him out

Strangely I've been binge watching your videos despite giving up the game that I loved several years ago. Love the editing and everything about it actually. The Eagle was hilarious. And that my friends is golf!!! Sometimes the golf gods giveth...other times not so much.

Love watching these videos, Im a high handicapper and for the 1st time ever, I broke 100 two weeks in a row, I felt the same on my 18th as Rick did on the 18th at St Andrews. Keep up the good work Rick!!!

Well done Callum and keep up the good work yourself, it's little milestones that you set yourself that will improve your game.. My local driving range (MGA, Melbourne Golf Academy) has a big sign as you walk in saying "Are you practicing your mistakes?".... I came to the realisation I was (always played against a Slice).. So watched a few videos, Rick helped immensely and started to notice a vast improvement... Now, I hit a slight Draw (and can Fade a little)... But have dropped from 100+ to low 80s.. Now I realise Golf is 90% mental and 10% mental....

The production work on this one is amazing, guys. The drone footage is especially great: really cool to see where your shots land and also the aerial of where you are in relation to the green. Great stuff.

Thanks for sharing this amazing experience, Rick. Even the early stroll to the course, past the Dunvegan (an experience on it’s own!), down the street to The Old Course, was amazing! Brings back amazing memories of The 150th! To play first off on a morning like you had (lucky buggar getting the weather you ordered delivered!), taking in The Course in all it’s glory, that is definitely on My Bucket List!

Best brake 75 so far. Good to see guy involved after listening to him on many podcasts. Thanks for the tour of St Andrews. Love the last few holes with all the drama especially the 18th. Great to see the weather in providing there wet and cold here in Australia.

This was awesome, the quality of the video, the course, the humble nature by Rick and guy. Also Rick deserved a lucky bounce on 18 after the last couple of break 75 attempts.

I have watched literally hundreds of videos on and about golf. Many of them RS videos. This is my all time favorite video. Not because RS broke 75 but because it shows what a great game golf truly is and how its so exhilarating one day and such a bit^% the next. The beauty of The Old Course really shines in this video and just confirms the fact I am playing this bucket list course. Thanks Rick and team for a great video.

I just came back from my first ever trip to Scotland a few days ago. Was lucky enough to stop in St. Andrews near the end of the trip. Such a surreal experience walking through town and around the course, especially with the setup for the Open. Something I won't ever forget. Unfortunately, the only put I hit there was on the rooftop bar of 18 overlooking the course with a drink in my hand.
Great job on the round, Rick! Im just afraid you might have used up your luck for the year with that bounce on 18. But what a fantastic time to get some luck.

    Master Shiels,
WELL DONE ! Future show material.
    1. Improve your putting starting line by using the 2:1 method. If you have a 4 meter putt, stand 8 meters behind the ball so you can see the starting line, breaks & dull spots. Use the plumb bob method if you need to. During this process wave your right feel hand to program the distance while looking at the hole.
    2. How to keep your tempo during pressure. On your 8i 17th approach & both 18th drives, you were quick at the top & didn't finish your backswing. On your previous shows, I aways admire your completeness & tempo. The question is, how do you complete all 72 strokes perfectly when anticipation just increased ?
