This is by far the best channel when it comes to learning about money and Judaic philosophies. I'm so happy you guys are sharing your knowledge with the world. As your Muslim cousin, I wish you guys the best!
Muslims don’t they still think interest rates is usury? Christians centuries ago were told interest rates were usury which banks probably got around by charging fees and not interest rates. Haha zero percent interest just a big fee. Then ya got the Bible and Moses Ten Commandments saying theft is a sin. Bankers print money out of thin air. If they take $100 deposit and create $900 loans out of thin air it’s fraud basically. They don’t actually have $900 to lend out but keep 10% for reserves. It’s still theft though cause you inflate the paper supply of money in the system stealing purchasing power from others. It’s why gold and silver are considered sound money cause you can’t just print specie. But banks in the 1800s did a lot of corruption lending out paper and forcing repayment in gold. Read Murray rothbard US monetary history or the book creature from Jekyll island. It’s like wow. The central bank is privately owned paying a 6% dividend. How is that okay? So many Christians talk about how abortion is bad or murder is bad but then love to print money and steal purchasing power for endless war haha. The irony of religious people really makes me go hmm…
I’m not from the Jewish faith but this interview touched. Peace and blessings to everyone watching this. May you and your families be blessed with peace, prosperity, health, and an abundance of love.
I'm a mystic who focuses on ALL spiritual systems and I'm a HUGE fan of Rabbi Simon Jacobson. The wisdom this man shares is so beautifuly humble and humane.
I'm not Jewish (was raised Christian denomination), but this seems, re practicality and attitude, VERY much how my frugal until it hurts parents, both children in the great depression, raised me. Just practical. Money was a tool, and your life would be enhanced over time by using it practical -- NOT wasting it or showing off with it. It's REALLY SAD that s many are anti-semitic, NOT because of anything Jewish people do wrong, but that they work hard and have values letting them EARN being successful. Like the Hutterites (an Amish-like sect willing to use technology to enhance their work productivity). I could never wrap my head around such mindlessness since I became aware one of my friends was Jewish in the 5th grade, and that he wasn't liked for being "different" by various kids (taught this by their families, I'm sure).
As a Christian, money is a gift from God. I trust God: my needs are provided, usually about money, or something money can bring. My key scripture about it is 'The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want'. In using money, I aim to 'do all to the glory of God'.
Hey guys, a non-Jewish here.I like your show, and this episode. Thanks for putting on the translation to some terms mentioned in the interview. Keep up the good work.
I grew up in El Salvador and the few Jewish people there were wealthy. My grandma worked in one of their houses and she would tell us how generous and respectful they were.
I highly recommend this channel, I'm sort of new to it, but this episode is fantastic. Tomorrow I'm going to listen to it again, with my husband. Great explanations/ translations at the bottom too. The Rebbe is full of wisdom and personal insights. Very very intelligent and articulated. Much love from Romania 🇷🇴 ❤️ 🙏
Thank you both for this insightful talk! I am not a Jewish, not living in US and with different reglious belief, but what's being discussed are universal, it's core values of human being!❤❤❤
Wisdom from the elders is irreplaceable. These channels and interviews are priceless as we have been separated by diverse religions and cultures but we are brethren at the foundation. The spirit recognizes it. It’s like hearing from my Uncle that I never met. Thank you for committing to sharing. Unity is powerful.
What I think is needed and amazing is the Jewish family's view on education. They respect learning for the sake of learning, not just a ticket to a job. Many also understand that learning is a lifelong endeavor. Not Jewish but much respect.
I am not Jewish but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to both of you. I 100% agree with the rabbi that we can use our excess money for good and helping others...and not just in terms of charity or giving it away but in loaning to others so they may start or improve upon their businesses or education!
Thank you for sharing, Rabbi! I'm neither Jewish or religious, but it does not matter when listening to a practical and wise man. Your words made a difference for me and I thank you!
Historically the Jewish people never built monuments or grand statues but rather put their focus into a book with stories and lessons. Thank you for this.
bruh ur oblivious you clearly never researched a thing in your life, rothschild castle was bigger then any king castle in france. solomons temple was massive and plated in gold. wtf you talking about, jews own the diamond trade.
Yuval Harari stated the same as I remember. Modern Jewish view on money is the same as European which evolved during Renaissance. Rabbi Jacobsen is a very kind man but I don‘t believe a Rabbi 1000 years ago had the same views.
At 46:46 mark the Rabbi says that the Jerusalem Talmud states money that is not earned is called "bread of shame". He also says that man prefers 1 dollar earned instead of 99 that is given to him, and the great pride of earning money. How does the Rabbi square this with the concept of interest/usury? Interest is by definition not earning/working for the money you make. It by definition leaches off the person who is being used for usury. Same thing with landlording (especially these days with unreasonable and unliveable rent prices becoming the norm).
Agree with @ednorton47. If we strip things back to the core, Interest is the compensation that is paid to me because my money has been borrowed by you and i can no longer use it. Rent is the price one must pay to use my property as i can no longer live in it. Interest is NOT by definition ‘not earning/working for the money you make’ - in fact, i toiled very hard for a long time for this money, and now you have borrowed it - is it not a fair deal to compensate me for my money that you are now using, that i worked for ? When you didn’t work for this money at all and now want to borrow it, taking away from what worked hard to use it for? Should i work hard for my money, and then you take it and use it without anything in return? Should the shop keeper go to the wholesale market and buy up goods and then sell them to me at cost price? Or should he charge a slight premium to cover his time for going to the wholesale market and for the risk that he buys things that I don’t buy from him. The concept of usury is tied to charging exorbitant and punitive interest for the money borrowed rather than charging any interest at all.
The answers you will get to this question are always evasive and convoluted. A flat rate interest of 10% would be more ethical than compounding/amortizing rates where people end up paying sometimes twice their original loan amount. How it is implemented/integrated today is absolutely non ethical, predatory and parasitic.
Very good teaching. Enlightening since Church don't teach like this. Still listening... long video and spiritually engaging. Thank you Rabbi. You're a blessing. God bless you. 🇮🇱❤️🇸🇬🦁
@Andreasg725 Yes, historic Christianity has promoted poverty and helplessness. I lecture on this stuff from time to time. Raises a question-Why help the needy and destitute if it's spiritual to be poor? Let's face it: Jewish people value hard work, earning and building wealth, and choosing the right professions and right spouses for marriage. This leads to wealth and power.
@Andreasg725 not from my personal encounters in Church. I find this topic when preached is just too general and superficial at times. Doesn't target my needs with a balanced perspective, spirituality and practicality. Of course there are gems gleaned from the sermons but just never enough on money stewardship. I shared this with 2 friends and told them my life would've changed in my 20s on how to handle money if I've heard what Rabbi shared back then.
Interesting program; but the title is perplexing. In fact the rabbi's perspective on money is shared by most Christians and even thoughtful people with no religions at all.
“The meek shall inherit the earth” has nothing to do with poverty mindset or lack of wealth- as u mentioned. Meekness is a characteristic of gentleness and preference for your neighbor for good
Great wisdom and advice found in this video. Thank you and many blessings to Rabbi Jacobson and your channel. Will recommend to friends and family… Also, thank you for providing the video chapter breakdown, it’s very helpful to dive into the interview. ❤
As a non-Jew this video brought tears to my eyes. It is suffused with wisdom and spirituality. I have always regarded money as fuel to make things happen. Those can of course be either good or bad things.

I got the idea that a lot of Jews because to materially focused when they choose the be secular.
Well said Rabbi…you have reflected the Scriptures well. Thank you…I’m an Italian - American Christian and would agree with your view of money as Scripturally based. Thank you…
I love you Rabbi Simon, I wish I could sit at the kitchentable having a conversation...ANd thank you for this channel, Eli! But Rabbi, "meek" does NOT mean "poverty". Being meek is not about being poor. Being meek refers to one's own humility as well as towards others. 'Humble' might be a correct synonym. Even so, it can also mean submissive. In relationship to God it is not being submissive through fear, but being submissive through love and wanting to please the person you love, like a child towards his parent.
Puerto Rican here from Williamsburgh Brooklyn. We have a huge jewish community here as many probably know. I must say, since finding this channel and I am gratefull because its true like Rabbi said, many if not all judaic teachings are universal life teachings.
Thank you for publishing a great conversation. I received a lot of helpful wisdom. I will say that the dreams I've had were important messages. More like, take heed. In a dream, I was dressed well and it was a sunny day. I crossed the street and it was gloomy and my clothing changed to rags. The money I had in my pockets fell out and I tried to grab it. But no matter how hard I tried, I wasn't able to grip it and hold on to it. Eventually, it sank into the ground. Then I started walking up a hill and it was light again. I came upon a church building. I stood outside, but I saw people building up the church. I didn't go in. I walked away and woke up. Would say that was a huge message for me.
I appreciate all your topics and wise guests. I am a non-jew that seeks and yearns for Judaism teachings. I get a lot of amazing lessons in this channel. Thank you for sharing. I have a question… please anyone chime in: I want to start to do charity. My question: is charity limited to an organization/foundation or can I donate money to a person or family and this can be considered tzedakah? TIA 🙏🏽
In minute 47. The discussion goes to Money earned versus money received. would love to see an interview dissecting what it looks like in the Jewish perspective to pass on inheritance but not steal your kids work ethic and what that looks like from a Jewish perspective. Blessings and shalom!
Love the concept of making money as a capitalist and sharing it as a socialist, without demonizing money and welcoming wealth as a gift from God. Being prosperous is a gift and a way of living
I left religion a while ago I'm not dedicated to any one religion, But since I've practiced meditation and breathing and spirituality. It never hurts to hear more wisdom from wise men and women
God does provide us with everything we have. Most people don't know that the Jewish community really helps and donates a lot to very important charities, and starts them too. I know this because of my daughter that had cancer, the Jewish community helped us and her in so many ways, because of the generosity. Thank you rabbi for your in-site🙏🏻 May god bless you.
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson, such an insightful conversation. God said to empower us וְעָשׂוּ לִי מִקְדָּשׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְּתוֹכָם , we are never poor we the Jews are very wealthy in the spiritual divinity and creation world from other nations by God. תבורכו מפי עליון אכי"ר ❤
This guy turns economics into thermodynamics. And the most amazing thing is that he's absolutely correct. I also like how the channel flashes up the meanings to a lot of these Hebrew words that I would otherwise have no idea what they meant.

As an Artist, when I feel the want to give back, I turn to things like Patreon, and Social Media Donations during Livestreams. I give Bits during Twitch Streams, and Superchats during UA-cam Streams. In this way, I feel I am giving to the causes I care about, in ways that I can see results from.
I view money as a measure of life energy. It is to me, a life energy unit. Those who want to waste it, or allow people to use them for it, are wasting their life, and life energy.
Money is a byproduct of how many people you have served, how well you have served them and how difficult you are to replace. Love is a byproduct of how special you make another feel, how consistently you make them feel this way and how difficult it would be for another to replace you. Meaning that you have to give energy to others and then you receive the corresponding energy back in return. Have a blessed day everyone 🙏🏻
Yes, money represents the "promise" of others to perform service,,,, or relinquish possessions. "Inflation" impacts that "promise" making it not all what you may have imagined.
Several times in my life Jewish people have extended their hand to me and improved my life. They never asked for anything in return except maybe my gratitude and I gave that gladly.
The soul energy and the mud...hmmm like animating a golem. Money altho transmuted life energy, feels more like a force, a force that forces human energy to give itself energy to force itself perpetually through the realm
As a gentile looking from the outside looking in!This is why I’m Attracted to the Jewish Religion. I can sense the Love and Wisdom infused in Rabbi Simon Jacobson’s powerful Words! God Bless🙏🏼
Many thanks to the UA-cam Rebbes who are now becoming a light into the world by sharing the wisdom from G-d and fulfilling the need of the nations as well as their own people.
Great great interview. Loved this one very very much. I wonder why I have been feeling for a long time that making money to go spend it at the mall on the weekends is something that never made me feel anything. I want to build something that will stay around for generations and generations to come. This episode made me realize what I really want to do with my time on this earth. THE VISION. Thank you 🙏

Usury is printing money from thin air and lending money at like central banks do. Lending money one has earned is immoral.
Why did the person borrow the money? Why didn't he do whatever he wanted to do without money? Why didn't he use his own money?
Agree with @ednorton47.
If we strip things back to the core, Interest is the compensation that is paid to me because my money has been borrowed by you and i can no longer use it. Rent is the price one must pay to use my property as i can no longer live in it. The answers you will get to this question are always evasive and convoluted.
I am Christian, but seek wisdom from all wise people.
It’s my honour to listen to the lectures from experienced Rabbi.

Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Really appreciate it 👍🏻
Loving the captions. Thanks!
If I could like this over and over again I would! What a wonderful episode!
I'm not Jewish but these teachings have touched my heart. Thank you 🙏
Money is a byproduct of how many people you have served, how well you have served them and how difficult you are to replace.
When you have more money than what you understand to do with charity becomes a hobby lol
So good!! Highest level teaching of deepest values!
I am not of the Jewish faith but this was absolutely wonderful information and teachings to have thank you for sharing!
Not a jew here 👋 found this interview very interesting ❤ Amazing. - San Antonio Texas
The soul energy and the mud...hmmm like animating a golem. Money altho transmuted life energy, feels more like a force, a force that forces human energy to give itself energy to force itself perpetually through the realm
Non Jew here but I greatly enjoy your channel!
As a gentile looking from the outside looking in!This is why I’m Attracted to the Jewish Religion. I can sense the Love and Wisdom infused in Rabbi Simon Jacobson’s powerful Words! God Bless🙏🏼
I even started the video again to try understand this when he said ,money is energy and there are people who have hundred thousands
Excellent interview. Excellent conversation
“It becomes a noose around your neck”
Sure man, tell that to Goldman Sachs.
I think when you have a lot of money, thoughts of money cease to exist and become irrelevant.
Hi, Jewish Israeli viewer here.
Why does Kvod Harav pronounces the Hebrew words so different than the way we do in Israel, changing the vowels even?
Many thanks to the UA-cam Rebbes who are now becoming a light into the world by sharing the wisdom from G-d and fulfilling the need of the nations as well as their own people.
My beloved Grandfather used to describe a food he didn't like as blote - lol. He was so lovable.
Great great interview. Loved this one very very much. I wonder why I have been feeling for a long time that making money to go spend it at the mall on the weekends is something that never made me feel anything. I want to build something that will stay around for generations and generations to come. This episode made me realize what I really want to do with my time on this earth. THE VISION. Thank you 🙏
