Visited Aegina over 30 years ago and walked for about 45 minutes with my cousin in open nature to arrive at the Monastery of Saint Mary hidden away like a gem.

Love all your videos especially the Greek islands since I am from one of them. Agios Nektarios has its saint there in a coffin and if you are a believer you will hear him knocking. When I was a young child we went there and I heard the knocking. I hope to take my kids there next summer. Aigina is a beautiful island.
This island never gets huge tourists. I really loved it. About 30 years ago. Wow.
Not much has changed since then, Greece will always be Greece.
Agea Marina used to be a party spot for tourists in the 80s

Loved this vid, Gabriel! I was last on Aegina in June of 2017. Beautiful island. I wish we would have stopped at Paliochora. They told us about it on the way by, on our way to Agios Nektarios Monestary, which was also very interesting. The body of "Saint Nectarios" (1848 - 1920) lies in a room in the church. Everyone walked by, in a line, to pay their respects to Saint Nectarios. I also laughed when I saw you driving on the super small streets! I've had that same experience! Thanks for the great stuff!

Aegina looks fantastic, can’t wait to visit. I’ve been to Poros/Hydra a few times, well worth a visit. Stay at the hotel Saga in Poros it’s lovely and they treat their guests like family.

We did an island hoping tour and Aegina was the first stop back in 2019. With the time allowed we were not able to leave the harbour area but some people took the tours. We decided to eat and then walk around. We spent 8 days in Greece and it was an incredible feeling walking anywhere really that is literally thousands of years old.

Hey Gabriel, I wish to thank you my friend for bringing us along with you on this wonderful trip. I would never be able to go to these places any other way anymore because my poor old 74 year old body is just not able to do it any longer. If I were there I would try and the I would get in trouble. Lol I have COPD and just can't get enough air.
I have read about places like this when I was younger and I guess I should have visited them at that time. I was trying to read some of those Greek writings but it's been too long and I don't have my reference books here with me in Thailand yet.
Hopefully once this nasty virus goes away I can start traveling again. I really miss it. Looking forward to your next video.

Brock Ary. G'day Brock. I completely agree with you ( this time 555 ) iv'e spent a bit of time in certain parts of Athens and some Irelands. I'm also a bit long in the tooth, i would love to live on some of the islands, have a beer and people watch.
@@wallywombat164, I think I will still be traveling until the day before I die if it's up to me but unfortunately when your time is up it's up. I have been in Thailand for 14 years now and had great plan's for 2020 but of course this nasty virus hit just as I landed back in Thailand and everything got shutdown. I am pretty healthy except for the COPD and the fact that I have had 4 back surgeries. It all slows me down but I will not let it stop me.

Hi Gabriel, It never gets boring visiting these quiet small islands in Greece I'm always amazed that these buildings are still standing a testament to the ancient buildings still in decent condition after hundreds if not thousands of years old.
Omg finally! I have been waiting to see a video on this island! Hardly anyone seems to know it even exists! I fell in love with this place a few years ago....a family friend has an amazing house up in the hills in Aegina...one of my favourite places I've ever been.....hardly any tourists, incredible beaches, great food, amazing weather, friendly locals, just heaven for me! The highlight of the trip had to be driving a speedboat (for the first time) around the island and visiting some other tiny islands nearby. Thanks for the video, I can't wait to go back ☺

Aegina is an idyllic Greek island very close to Athens, thus a very popular destination for quick getaways. Belonging to the Saronic group of islands, Aegina Greece has many archaeological monuments, picturesque villages, and beautiful beaches! The center of the island is Aegina Town, the picturesque capital of Aegina.

Gabriel thank you very much for showing my homeland so beautiful!!! One thing that many tourists don't know is : When they come to Athens and stay a few days.... Near the main port are little islands to discover. They can take the boats in the morning and come back late afternoon!!!!. Aigina is one of the islands (Argosatonikos). Thanks again🐳🌊🐬

Nafplio is a nice town, I went their when I was 13 on a school trip and then we went to Epidavros, I had a great time.

Incredible history, diverse terrain, amazing people and fantastic food!
Visit small towns like Axos and very, very small towns like Karkathiotissa (near the monastary of Epanosifi Monastary). Go to Agioi Deka and explore that whole area of Faistos, Agia Galini and Matala.
Chania and Rethimno also have lots to offer, like the Samaria Gorge and the old city of Chania (I think you have been). You can also hike Psiloritis UNESCO Global Geopark .

The 516 Arouca is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world.
Per Lonely Planet’s Andrea Smith, the bridge is located in the Arouca Geopark, a destination in the northern region of Portugal where visitors can hike, go white water rafting and explore historical sites. Arouca is designated a Unesco Global Geopark for its significant geological characteristics.
The park is also home to Neolithic graves and Roman and medieval ruins, as well as the Monastery of Arouca, which served as a religious center for nuns, and sometimes monks, between the 10th and 19th centuries.

Gabriel works hard. He can't sleep in a tent on the island. And he had to pay $1200 for the whole flight; it's not that he can travel the remaining 150 miles on bicycle.
