Native Greek here, with lots of childhood memories from Aegina 5 minutes into the vid, and it is clear that this is the best periegesis aka 'travel vlog' of Aegina, or of any other place for that matter, that I've ever seen. Ron, I don't know where you're hailing from my friend, but you are doing a FANTASTIC job.
Many thanks Geogeo! Glad you enjoyed the video. Totally enjoyed my time in Aegina and elsewhere in Greece. Hope you check out some of the many other videos on my channel. If you're interested there's more about me and my travel videos on my website at outboundwithron.com.
An excellent and informative video. I was there in March 1975. Everything looks very familiar, if a little more upmarket. Brings back many very pleasant memories. Thanks!
Very very interesting approach!!! I learned informations i didn't knew, even though i'm from Aegina and visit it monthly for 31 years now!!! Thanks for the video!!!!
You never stop learning Ron!!! P.S. i enjoy very much your way to present the facts. That detail keep me wanted to see all the video to the end even though the landmarks are more than familiar for me!!! Congratulations!!!
Excellent commentary Ron, would have liked the video to have gone on a bit longer. I’ll be in AEGINA in a few weeks time, looking forward to a few days there.
Thanks Gary! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time on the island. In case you just stumbled across the video as a one-off, you might want to check out my other Greece videos before your trip. Have fun!
Gary, how was your trip? I went there when I was 18 in the late nineties with my friend After High School graduation. Three weeks of awesome time and we went to some other Islands but this was our home base because my aunt married a Greek guy. Anyway sharing highlights of your trip please!
Was just there. They don't pronounce the g in Aegina. There may be almonds, but all I saw was pistachios. They sell them right on the dock. The trees are omnipresent.
Thanks MSD! Yours is a good suggestion. While editing my Greece videos I found it challenging to get a good selection of royalty-free Greek music that I thought fit with some of the videos. So much of what was available to me, while nice, seemed cliche and similar. I felt that as a result I sort of came up short, so it doesn't surprise me that you would call me out on it. :-) I absolutely loved Aegina!
Most of the ancient Greek treasures were robbed during several occupations, especially the Turkish occupation. Musea all over Europe and beyond are filled up with Greek antiquities. English archeologists-bandits, French, Germans, Italian robbers left nothing but a distraction in Greece!
Thanks Pantora! Yes, it's a sad reality that I've noted time and again in the series of videos I've done in Greece. If all the world's museum holdings (not to mention looted antiquities in private collections) were repatriated to their countries of origin, people visiting many of the "great" museums would be astonished by the empty shelves.
A bit sad you didn’t visit the St’ Nektarios monastery. A councillor of the real God and not a god of fantasy. Look at it on line. Thanks for the professionalism of your video 10 out of ten. Georgios, Crete.

It’s name is pronounced Egg-eena
Pardon my poor linguistics Christine.
Eh-hee-nah……not Ageenah
Hi Hank. Forgive my Greek pronunciation skills. I do try but sometimes I just fail.
you should have shown nature instead of your face in whole video
