Whoa, that was really cool. I have a soft spot for ridiculous TASes of games like this, and this absolutely deserves to have a lot more views than it does. It's so much more awesome than what I've done with The Password Game. Phenomenal. I'm running out of adjectives.
Come to think of it, you can TAS real life speedruns aswell, a TAS is a Tool Assisted Speedrun, so all you would need is a tool to help you do it, doesn't matter what it is as long as its classified as a tool.
I know what you really mean, but this was actually done by a human: they're just using a tool that makes them able to do things that a normal human can't do without it (just like every other tool) Just wanted to point that out since I've heard some people think TAS means AI or "bot" or something like that (not necessarily anyone here though). To be clear: I definitely am not saying TAS should be compared to or compete with non-TAS but at the same time saying that a human didn't do something just because they didn't do it with their bare hands kind of undermines all the effort they went through (but again I know it's not what you meant, it's just that your statement is technically incorrect)

pretty cool tas! i've never actually seen any discussion over the abuse of date/time manipulation before. i think the two issues i have with this are - latency frame inputs (javascript is single threaded, I don't really see a good reason why you inputting an action would interrupt the already executing Game.Loop function) - impossible rng manip (is calling seedrandom whenever you want really rng manip :P the random func only has 128 bits of entropy or something) one minor issue i have with this is - some of the gcs cover the ui, which means you can't keep clicking lump refill and fthof without getting rid of at least some of the onscreen gcs (well, you can resize the window i think but the tas did not do this), but you can fix this by just getting more gcs so not really a large issue. i guess this also includes clicking buttons that are not even visible (like, the buildings below portals). btw, a tas under the same rules can be done in under a second with sleep mode timeout :)
The machine always performs frame-perfect inputs and always gets the best possible luck. A human would not be able to do this, but the bounds of the game itself allow it to be “possible.” Most importantly, a bug that causes the game to run at 152x speed is in effect.
Very easy and RTA viable, just need a 1 in 10^661008 RNG with 5000 CPS to get the MEGA SUGAR LUMP CHAIN!!! 500 yrs * 365.25 days and 0.1441% odds per golden lump, and 6% chance for it to drop 7 lumps each time!
Actually, the maximum speed is exactly one year, if you don't manipulate the date, since one achievement requires you to manage your save for a year, real world time.
If you decide against spitting in the face of the god of time, Dialga, then it would take a few years JUST to get the sugar lumps needed. But while you’re waiting, if you played consistently enough, it would be completely possible to do this in those few years. The real hurdles would be the ridiculous shadow achievements about clicking golden cookies, casting spells, and getting a shiny wrinkler. But if you put in a few hours every single day for multiple years, then you can probably get all of the insane achievements.
@@_Epidemic_ actually, you only need a single year to get all achievements including all shadow achievements, this is because of "So Much to do, So Much to see" which requires that you spend a whole year playing.
