Can we just talk about how we have a Heavy Metal song sung by an Air Force veteran with PTSD and the main character goes to hell, this game is Metal af.
Sometimes I forget that Captain Fussenpepper, Joe Chin, Ma-San and Master Onion share the same voice actor. Ryu Watabe is a great voice actor and singer.
You become curious to we're the music coming from after a while you realises it's coming from the cockpit you enter it and you sees the pilot having Vietnam flashbacks and a weird sheep somehow playing the stearing wheel like a guitar
I always felt like the captain was super relatable. One minute I could just be like, "oh, I'm having a good old time, I'm a bit hungry.." and then the next, I'm just like, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Reminder: this is a song about a pilot with multi-personallity disorder, one keeps forgetting stuff and acting like a baby, the other has post traumatic stress disorder from working at the army who forced a guitar player to be his co-pilot.
That's not even how multi-personality disorder works, and it's an outdated term and has been since the 90's, it's called dissociative identity disorder. And also, there's literally no proof to prove that he has this. Literally the entire game is full of wacky hijinx like this (like Lammy literally dying from a banana peel) so putting something as serious as a literal disorder probably never crossed the creator's minds.
It's not weed. He's just been bonked on the head too many times. I mean if a panel kept falling down and hitting you on the head wouldn't you eventually be totally bonkers?
After having listened to this a ton, I realized that you can slightly hear the panel hitting Fussenpepper’s head, so I guess those sound effects are part of the soundtrack itself and amplified in the game, which is a nice detail! Makes the song more enjoyable to me lol
