Thank you for your video. I just purchased alibre because I have a family engineer that can give support and training but they are 750 miles away. So I have to learn via UA-cam until I can get there for training. And you are the best training support for this program. So I'm very appreciative for your video. Thank you very much.
Going thru these video and trying to learn. I am new to CAD (but not 2d drawing). I have some questions. I can't get a handle on moving the model around. When I am trying to rotate the model I do not seem to have any control over it. I can move stuff around just fine when using Simplify3D but in this program it seems to just go everywhere and I can't rotate and keep it upright. 2) Your grid is much smaller than my grid. When I create a new part, my green square (plane) is 1/4 the size of a a gride square. Where with yours, you have 9 gride squares inside just one quadrant of your green plane. 3) You have an arrow that points out when yo click on a plane, I do not have that. I sure hope to master this software. Thanks for the videos.
1) In Atom3D the rotation options are limited to using the mouse to free-form rotate or clicking the View Orientation buttons in the upper left of the window. Alibre Design Pro and Expert offer a Gyroscope option that can further refine rotation of the model in the workspace. 2) The grid size can be adjusted in System Options> Parts/Assemblies> Sketching 3) Under the View tab check the Reference Display section and make sure Toggle References is turned on. If you have any additional questions, please email us at Support@alibre.com
OK, I followed through until the bit where I added the dimension to the hex head. Now I cannot rotate or extrude it. You clicked something to do that, but I can't see what it was? I appear to be stuck in dimension mode?

This is a hex head pin. How do you make a bolt? Meaning, how can I put threads onto the pin to make it a bolt?
The hex head on a bolt has a revolved chamfer. I'd have expected that to be part of this demo.

I came here to find out how to add a thread to a cylinder. But no luck it seems.
This is a Hex Pin not a bolt.
yeh no bolt made here
A bolt is typically threaded, this was uselessly time consuming
