I've just moved to Pahrump with my 4 children and I thought that there was lots to do for kids. There is 4H which offers Robotics for all abilities (their most advanced group won state championship and who knows they could have won the world championship if it hadn't been cancelled for COV..) they offer archery and a range of different gun shooting sports, animal classes including dog training and livestock, sewing classes and Minecraft club. 4H is basically free too. Then there are numerous sports available for kids to do such as baseball, football etc as well as dance and drama classes, swimming is really cheap too. There's also scouts and horse riding. Then many of the churches run different clubs too. I don't know how you can say that there isn't much for kids! I did hear that the school district is one of the worst in state but I don't know about that as I homeschool mine.
I came from Vegas and I can say that the Middle school here is either better or worse in some aspects I was originally from Escobedo Things that are Better: -The layout is more creative, which is way better than having a block for a school -You go to school earlier so you get more free time -The school teaches subjects better -There is way less stealing going on -The half hallway direction is way better than making a one way hallway where you need to re enter the pod to go to another class Things that are Worse: -The school is poor. It cannot afford any instruments, and there are no showers. (My old middle school had a bunch of showers) -The school is pretty strict -The fields are smaller -The layout is better and worse, as it takes more time to traverse the school. I'd say it's slightly better than my old school.
I'm 16. I've lived in pahrump since I was born. It really isn't that bad. There are special needs programs for students with any disabilities like me. Most students in the school are pretty good with kids like me.
Thank you! Excellent summary and professional assessment of Pahrump. While the title appears to be negative, truth is none of the content should preclude you from moving to Pahrump, given the facts that were given.
I saw some houses in Pahrump on Zillow, and the prices was SOOOO tempting. But then I opened up Google Maps and realized just how desolate it was. Although the price is extremely tempting, I'd spend so much time driving to Vegas, that it wouldn't be worth it.

She is right on the money with schools, and 12-17 youth programs are not there either. If you target,,hunt rabbit, coyote . It's the place for you. Nightlife is very good. Bars, bands, brothels, the fore mentioned bowling, bingo, small town shops(not "garage sale" Fronts) and of course the Eateries and Casinos. Love it here. Even have respectful homeless population of about 12 regulars . There are two small encampments up in the mountains near Pahrump as well. That people do not talk about. But there are women and children and a lot of them. Dont even think they have a shelter in Pahrump?? See... alot even I don't know. Back to our rental property las angeles. Sell this place.
We lived in Pahrump for 5 years (3 years commuting between Texas and Pahrump). My wife loves the place. The views of the western slope of Mount Charleston are spectacular, but for a city this size (40,000+), the medical services available are atrocious considering the number of retirees living there. We lived in Hafen Ranch (on Doubletree), and it was a wonderful place. So quiet. Everything you mention is true. It certainly beats Las Vegas.
This is the very video that convinced me TO move to Pahrump. I moved here in July,2023 and could NOT be happier. If you're a senior military veteran and not looking here, well, that's on you.

Hello, and thanks for the informative video. Based on another views comments about there being very few rules, so I am guessing there aren't many (or any HOA's or land covenants). I am an amateur (ham) radio operator and would like to know if there are any issues or restrictions about putting up a single mast (30-35ft tall) with an antenna mounted on top? Thanks
Art Bell lived here and broadcasted from his home. He had a tall antenna. Of course you would need to contact the county Government to find out the laws concerning antenna.
No. Remember PRB-1? The FCC has exclusive jurisdiction over antennas. This would not apply, of course, if you lived in an HOA community. STAY AWAY FROM HOAs!
Im in GA. Just bought over half acre ( year or so ago ) next to treasure RV park where there are a few homes on Alpaca Avenue. Trisha, Trish whatever her name is from custom home builders ( cant remember exact company name or hers ) a year back quoted me 250k to build a home and told me it would cost 180k ( im zoned sewer and single fam stick build ) so are the houses near to get water to my lot ( It already has power near ) and the other homes are a stone throw literally and have water already so IDK if she's lying to keep me from building bc she has something against people from GA amd people moving there or what. ( alot of old people here ive realized that seem to hate new comers) I might check with great basin this year. I think she over quoted me a cheapest home and the water shes said she asked a friend at great basin about. I think it was a lie. My lot is literally right there at tresure RV and the other homes why would it cost 180k to get water ?

If you want to know more about Pahrump watch Live P.D. when they say let's head to Nye County, you are in Pahrump. Your taxes will also go to Tonopah and never make there way back to Pahrump.
You might also want to mention how hard the 2008 housing crash hit Pahrump. I doubt prices 16 years later are much higher than they were then. I remember seeing basic houses for $400K that are probably about the same now.
it's getting worse on Dandelion, Calvada, and Ambush. gang activity has gotten worse, and from my point of view, apartment managers have little knowledge what kind of SKUM they have living on their property. The local Sheriff's Department will catch up to them soon since they do know who the shot-caller is.
@@ourcreativebeehive Pahrump is small with lots of open space and lots. Vegas is a heat island. I used to know a guy from Phoenix.
Thank you for your insight, I will definitely try to make this a point in a future video. Glad you are finding a great home here in Pahrump
I came from Vegas and I can say that the Middle school here is either better or worse in some aspects
I was originally from Escobedo
Things that are Better:
-The layout is more creative, which is way better than having a block for a school
-You go to school earlier so you get more free time
-The school teaches subjects better
-There is way less stealing going on
-The half hallway direction is way better than making a one way hallway where you need to re enter the pod to go to another class
Things that are Worse:
-The school is poor. It cannot afford any instruments, and there are no showers. (My old middle school had a bunch of showers)
-The school is pretty strict
-The fields are smaller
-The layout is better and worse, as it takes more time to traverse the school.
Thanks, yes and please check out the other videos on Pahrump and why you should consider a move there.
I’m moving here to help out my parents, this place is quite and beautiful
It's quite* what? High in crime? That's for certain, lots of meth , I'm guessing you meant quiet but that's not quite* what you said😂😂😂
@@bethewalt7385 Meth problem is why we sold our last Pahrump property.
Quite what?
I saw some houses in Pahrump on Zillow, and the prices was SOOOO tempting. But then I opened up Google Maps and realized just how desolate it was. Although the price is extremely tempting, I'd spend so much time driving to Vegas, that it wouldn't be worth it.
.....Q though: 4 seniors or disabled folks how r the medical facilities in Pahrump? Is it still necessary to go to LV in case of an emergency or more complicated surgical procedures?....

Bars, bands, brothels, the fore mentioned bowling, bingo, small town shops(not "garage sale" Fronts) and of course the Eateries and Casinos. Love it here.
Where I live in So Cal I am on swamp land. Pahrump sonds nice. More shopping than there is here. Love the desert.

Thanks

I’ve lived in Pahrump for 16 years and I always love it here but recently it’s been crap there are no jobs that will hire because everyone wants to move from Vegas to here the skatepark just put down 5000 to smoothen it fix the cracks and put some lights in and failed at all three and Walmart never hires unless they got corporate called (I put that separate from the others cuz Walmart here pisses me off) but other than that it’s a friendly community that has alot of festivals and beautiful landscapes hiking areas and it’s the home of the Toto tribe (cool people)
do you have any Muslims living in Pahrump?

The radio legend Art Bell resided here, when there was not much around, he was prolly horrified OR would turn over in his grave if he saw the growth of this strange town, or, perhaps he noticed. Can someone clarify ?
loved art bell--took night duty with my tanker trucks just so i could listen to him--he was the best--he loved pahrump -he lived on the edge of town--after his son got molested by teacher(teacher arrested, prison) and his wife died he was never the same...
and i do not know why you call it strange town doom--just a rural area,typical--cities suck--i do not think it is remotely strange--everywhere has had massive growth--the coming nuke war will fix that
Art lived down south - I lived a block away from him.

What about all the red light houses in Pahrump. Too many people moving in will make them leave. And lost tax revenue.
❇⚓🇺🇸⚓❇.....¿?.....Then perhaps customers/folks of that interest should consider places like Pahrump together with the rest of the state of Nevada to move to since the origins of Las Vegas & Nevada go back to that purpose since a good # of people would rather live elsewhere IMHO.....
What red light houses? There's not that many. You make it sound like there's one on every corner!
They aren't in the "city limits" proper, the chicken ranch and Shari's are outside town, there aren't that many

I was looking to move to Pahrump. My problems ended up being: the new developments on the nice side of town are half a mile from a race track so it sounds like there is a nascar race going on somedays. I would love to live in a quiet little desert town but Pahrump is not it for me.

A problem with Pahrump. There really is no amenities. Yes we are a senior citizen town and the senior citizens have to travel over 60 miles to see their doctors in Las Vegas.
