Thank you for the videos, I own a landscaping company and was recently injured in a crash and diagnosed with a TBI so i enjoy watching you do things the right way while i get my memory back and heal up. God bless
Damn bro, I am so sorry to hear that. It's awesome that you are enjoying the videos while you heal. Stay strong brother and I hope you get back to normal quickly. God Bless you too ✌
We live in an impatient world…everyone wants everything quick, easy and cheap! Only a master craftsman still has the patience and attention to detail to build things that look beautiful and out last us….and we see it here!
Beautiful work my friend!!!! I know what goes into that. Takes a special kind of person to do that level of quality!! Stonework will drive you nutty after a while. You guys are killing it. Love it brother
I'll take doing that work in the cold over sweltering heat any day. That is one fine lookin' wall 🤩🤩 well... so far. TBC. Your hard work and attention to every detail really shows.
I think stone work is coming back. We do a lot of walls on our jobs, but like you said, not many can do walls. We also do veneer stones also. Nice work.
Reminds me of when Nehemiah rebuilt the walls in Jerusalem. That cornerstone cut looks outstanding. Also, love how conscious you are about protecting the road from damage from equipment use. I've seen you also do it for yards as well. That showcases how truly a professional you guys really are. I've seen some crews don't give a crap about that kind of stuff which oftentimes reflects their finished product. Can't wait to see this wall finished.
Amen to that, I love that story. And I try to be considerate on all my job sites because like you said, so many contractors just aren't... I treat each property as if it were my own ✌
My CAM dump trailer ramps have a piece of metal that overhangs the end of the ramp a few inches. Once in a while depending on if I’m on a hill or not the ramps will completely see-saw up into the air coming off their hangers. They have always landed back in the right spot so far but waiting for the day one slaps me in the back of the head while backing my mini skid onto the trailer
Damn ,that must be a scary feeling when it happens...LOL Hopefully nothing too bad ever happens. I really like the design of this trailer but you got to make sure the ramps sit nice and level before you load ✌
Truly an art form. Nice work. Uts funny when you said it's rare seeing this craft done now days. My grandfather back in the old country was a stone mason and did this type of work. Folks told me growing up his "hands are all over the town". Can't wait to see end result. Ya can tell you and Benny take great pride in your work, that itself is a lost art now days no matter what one does. Keep the vids comin brother, peace ✌️
It sure is an art. And that is very cool about your grandfather! It is so true that you display your art all over the area you work in, cool way to think about it. I know what you mean about pride in your work, not much of that in any industry anymore...LOL ✌
Thanks man! Someday I will have more tools... You can go broke trying to get all the nice things that are out there. Just making it work with what I got and slowly acquiring more tools. ✌
Also love how you do your base for walls and patios . After years of trying different techniques I’ve now landed on doing the base the same way you do and have had great success with it !
@The Christian Hardscaper For Canadian cold weather climates in Northern Alberta where there’s lots of freeze/thaw, how deep would I have to go for a fully concrete fence/wall? I know for concrete fence posts spaced say 6 feet apart I should go like 4 feet deep… but if the entire wall is concrete, can I get away with less like 18” deep?
It is tough to say... 18 inches may be fine but concrete can crack very easily with just small amount of shifting in the sub soil. If you go 18 inches, just make sure you compact the heck out of it and add as much stabilization precautions as possible.
@@TheChristianHardscaper thanks, and what if I still went 4 feet deep with concreted posts every 6’ would that help? I want to do Concreted wall on bottom and metal slats between the concrete posts. I just don’t want to go 4’ deep for the entire wall which would be lot of concrete. The wall would only be about 18” high between the posts so 36” overall if 18” is also buried.
Built a few retaining walls on Lake Chargoggagoggmachagagoggchaubunagungamaugg out of rip rap. Same tight face dry look, 10 shovels of concrete sand for every 3 shovels of Portland. All done in a wheelbarrow. Learned a lot about myself and how far I could push my talents. Any time I make a mistake these days, I can still hear my boss saying “oh my f$&@ing word!” despite not having worked for him in over ten years.
That’s really cool man, that lake is 15 minutes from my house… this work really does show you how far you can push yourself without a doubt. You can learn a lot from jobs like this ✌🏻
"Lake Chargoggagoggmachagagoggchaubunagungamaugg". I thought this was a typo. Holy crap it's a real lake! The humorous translation is: "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and no one shall fish in the middle". Today I Learned.
Thanks John, it is very labor intensive… I estimated it based on how long I pictured it taking us based off my experience doing these types of walls in the past. No perfect formula really yet though. I need a few more to really dial it in but we are on track with my estimate so far ✌🏻
Very time consuming... And yes, my price reflects that time. Which is why I am very happy about this project, not many people make the investment for walls like this. I am grateful for the opportunity ✌
As much as there may seem to be benefits to landscape fabrics, ultimately, it is just more plastic being put into the environment. That said, I avoid it as much as possible
I understand what you mean and there are a lot of downsides to plastic materials. But plastic materials have also made a huge impact on the overall progression of the world. In this situation, plastic is what will make this project last decades longer than not having it. I think that is beneficial, not harmful. ✌🏻

I totally agree... Building things to outlast me is my favorite thing to do! LOL ✌
Beautiful work my friend!!!! I know what goes into that. Takes a special kind of person to do that level of quality!! Stonework will drive you nutty after a while. You guys are killing it. Love it brother
Thanks brother, I thought about you plenty of times on this one...LOL Wait until you see the end result, super proud of this one! ✌
I'll take doing that work in the cold over sweltering heat any day. That is one fine lookin' wall 🤩🤩 well... so far. TBC. Your hard work and attention to every detail really shows.
You guys rock. It’s these kind of jobs that are the most rewarding. Especially as time progresses.
Thanks man, I totally agree. The more progress you make, the more you just want to sit and look at it...LOL ✌
I think stone work is coming back. We do a lot of walls on our jobs, but like you said, not many can do walls. We also do veneer stones also. Nice work.
I agree. I think people are getting tired of seeing block walls, pavers and poured concrete everywhere..LOL Thanks!
I’m loving that natural stone wall bud. Can’t wait to see it finished. Awesome work
Thanks bud! Nothing like the look of a well done stone wall. ✌
You guys got some awesome talent. Great video brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I always appreciate the feedback brother, glad you enjoyed the video! ✌
I’ve been learning tons from your videos in preparation for my own retaining wall project. Your channel rules! Also, Benny is the man
That is great to hear! Benny is the man for sure. Good luck with your project ✌

That corner looks mint dude 👌🏻
Thanks brother ✌🏻
Dude love the project! I tell you though … you need that stone hook vacuum! Sets those steps easy as cake :)
Thanks man! Someday I will have more tools... You can go broke trying to get all the nice things that are out there. Just making it work with what I got and slowly acquiring more tools. ✌
Yeah that’s smart , I think it was around 3k with a couple different lifting pads so not super expensive. Love the content you put out so keep it up!
Also love how you do your base for walls and patios . After years of trying different techniques I’ve now landed on doing the base the same way you do and have had great success with it !
You buying it? LOL
That’s awesome to hear man, this base prep method has been a huge game changer In my career… 👌🏻
27:28 Ouch! We've all been there. 😀
Yes sir... LOL You just take the blow and keep moving! 🤣 ✌
👍👍 Looking good!!!!!
Thanks!! ✌🏻
I just kept thinking about the guy sitting around the fire in his cave chipping away at the stone until he inadvertently invented the wheel.
🤣 That's hilarious! ✌

@@shoe7146there are a few businesses in the area that have it spelled out in full just for the fun of it! Usually just call it Webster Lake
It certainly is a real lake! 🤣
You guys do beautiful work.
How on the hell do you figure an estimate for that project?
✌️ John
Thanks John, it is very labor intensive… I estimated it based on how long I pictured it taking us based off my experience doing these types of walls in the past. No perfect formula really yet though. I need a few more to really dial it in but we are on track with my estimate so far ✌🏻
are you from peru or egypt lol tight walll hahhahahah nice
🤣 ✌
Nice work man. I own a landscaping business in state college pa. Is Ben your son or brother.
Thanks man, that's cool! Ben is my brother in-law ✌
So time consuming. Hope you gave good price? Like your patience.
