Love the wall and yea, drilling and feather wedges are faster and easier, but it’s no one will ever find bore marks in your stone…just chisel marks! A huge testament of your skills and ethics! It’s art man…pure skilled art! Benny is a worker!!! Perfect wall! Thanks for sharing !
That is an amazing wall for sure. I like how there are all the different tones being represented in a random pattern but also chosen if that makes sense.
I felt your pain after you put the saw down and shook your head. Every time I do natural stone and I’m mixing mortar I question why the hell did I decide to do this😂 but it’s always worth it in the end!!! Great job men!
😂 I completely agree, very testing and hard work... but when you can step back and look at what you built, you suddenly get motivation to keep going and do more! Thanks for the feedback ✌
Been waiting to see this!! ... love this craftsmanship ... kudos ... keep pushing and don't worry about youtube ... dont forget to disc golf!! Love you and Benny killin it!
So, I've watched many TCH videos to admire and learn the craftsmanship of hardscaping. This goes beyond and elevates your work by introducing art into your portfolio of work. This is a culmination of many disciplines. This is a magnificent sculpture of flowing lines & colors fitted into a functional structure of timeless beauty of stone. Bravo
Thank you very much for the kind words, I have always loved stone work and totally look at it as a form of art. It is hard work but so rewarding when it is done! Plus knowing it will be there for a very long time is super cool to me... ✌
Brother, I was waiting to see the next installment of this wall, wow. Very nice job. Both you and Benny truly blessed with this lost art form. And technically on the videos ? Simply awesome so kudos to the wife. I enjoy them because they're informative but also very relaxing and of course funny. The whole team rocks ( pun intended! Lol ) And of course always good to see your Pops. Keep up the good work brother 👍😎✌️
Thanks brother! It took awhile to get the video out but I'm glad you like it! I absolutely love working with natural like this, it certainly is an art form. I am blessed to have them all by my side and giving me support, couldn't do all this without them or people like you with the consistent support of the channel. God Bless brother! ✌
Yes sir, the majority of all those stones are granite. And I appreciate the feedback, I do a lot of paver work but I love stone work! Just hard to sell compared to pavers and block. Hopefully I get more stone work with this as an example... 🤞
This rock wall came out super nice - especially that corner block that you spent a lot of time on. The mosaic pattern looks awesome / amazing. Nice job CHS!! Hey, the music on your videos is great! I want a Henderson Hardscape T-shirt.
My man! This looks awesome. I am a hardscaper from Missouri. I watch all your work and have recently been approved at be a Techo Pro. I know you work with their stuff all the time. I want to come work with you free of charge for a week! I feel I could learn so much from you. I know you are probably crazy busy but if ever you want some free labor please let me know. I will be there in a flash. Keep up the great work. God Bless.
Have been watching you guys for a while now. As usual you both do great work and this wall really makes your craftsmanship stand out. That wall is looking so good nice job!! God bless!
Kyle awesome build. Dude you gotta get in the habit of putting hearing protection on. You’ll thank yourself many years down the road. Keep up the great work. 👍
Thank you, and I know what you mean about the hearing protection. I actually did use some foam plugs a few times on this project but you are right, I don't use them as much as I should. Thanks for looking out ✌
What a labor of love. Gorgeous wall. Love the joint work. Could easily be a full-time mason. appreciate your hand chiseling the edges to hide the cuts. never seen it filled in with mortar in the middle, but I like the idea and you've accounted for the drainage beautifully. I've always filled it with 3/4 crush. Does the mortar hold up better than just having stone and geogrid behind it? Love it
Thanks brother, I love the color tones too... Was very happy with the stone he chose 👌 And I hear you about the veneer but I don't mind sharing the work and they did a good job on the chimney it seems. Hopefully they match the wall good✌
At the end of a job when the pavers are done , when and how do you compact the pavers? Before the sand? In between lifts? After concrete goes around the edge of padio?
I compact the pavers with our hammers as we lay them, then secure the edges with concrete and then compact the pavers again with a compactor or hand tamper after we sweep in the 1st layer of polymeric sand. You just need to be careful when compacting close to the edge so you don't mess up the concrete holding it all together. I typically always hand tamp close to the edges.
Man you guys do a great job... I wish I had the patience you guys have.. I was building a rock fire pit 2 days ago for half a day... And I got upset cuz customer was really picky she made me tear it all down and re build it... I had to walk away and let someone else do it. 😆
My wife got me on to your channel. I am thankful for that. We live in NH and after watching many of your videos SHE thinks we can take on a paver patio.😮 I don’t feel as confident. After watching I believe we need 3/4 clean crushed stone for the for the 6-8 inch base and 1/4 clean crushed stone for the 2 inch top layer, but not exactly sure how much to get. I’ve tried some of the calculators but not sure of the results. Hate to not order enough. She wants a 16x12 patio. Any suggestions to help us get going? God bless you and your family always
I certainly am, it is a blessing to have him around. We have a solid friendship and have since the 9th grade. Super grateful for it. I hope you find someone like him to help you, you never know what is right around the corner ✌
You are making it tough on yourself with the little chisels and hammers. Gotta get the long handle tools that look like an axe. And then smash the back end with a sledge. 2 man operation but it’s quick. I believe trow and Holden makes them as well if that’s your preferred brand.
There are a handful of tools I would have liked to have on this job but didn't want to buy a bunch of expensive tools for this 1 project. I do have a couple carbide hammers that we did use to break off large chunks, just never filmed it... I plan to grow the tool arsenal as I grow my business. But until you get what you want, you need to deal with what you got. ✌
Whoever owns the house has interesting priorities... beautiful retaining wall with an ugly concrete block wall house. I assume they'll work on that next.
That is one sexy wall. Looks like you are a nateral with the natural stone. Been waiting a long time for this vid, but was worth the wait. The wife’s work is amazing. She has the right balance between normal and warp speed. 🫡
It sure is! 😂 I love working with stone, just not as easy to sell because how much more expensive and time consuming it is... But I hope to get much more stone work in the future 🤞 And I was actually able to make this video on my own this time.. LOL But my editing has been getting better because of her style honestly. She does a great job. Thanks as always for the support! ✌
Your dad rocks, your channel is so much fun, the lighthearted banter between you & Benny & your old school ethics are a breath of fresh air
He is awesome, I love when he stops by the job sites! Glad you enjoy the channel and I really appreciate all the support and consistent feedback ✌

Perfect wall!
Thanks for sharing !
I think this is one of your best jobs ever brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I totally agree brother! I love stone work...✌
That is an amazing wall for sure. I like how there are all the different tones being represented in a random pattern but also chosen if that makes sense.
Thanks man! That was a good assortment of stones to work with, awesome color tones for sure. This was a fun one to build! ✌
You can only do what you do brah as balance in our lives is so important! Any video of your craftmanship and content is a blessing!
That is for sure brother, that balance isn't always easy but you just keep moving and do what you can, just like you said. Thanks for the feedback! ✌

You’re lucky to have such a great work partner like Benny. And says a lot about you as the owner/boss. I’m still trying to find a good partner.

😂 👌
Can I ask how did you charge for that wall bro ! Hourly rate ?
Anyone ever tell you that you sound and kind of look like Casey Affleck?
😍
