Nick can change his vocals so well joel has a good voice and all but it really made me stop listening to his music after he got arrested

@@RatQueenBeauty for his actions, yes, for sure. I believe he said it was an addiction, so I hope that he's getting help for all of that. I also hope he's learnt his lesson. Though, it is true that he has a lot of passion and talent in singing, and he at some point for sure did feel all the things he sings about. Though what he did was just wrong, and society won't forgive him, I at least can hope he will rid himself of that aspect in order to be a decent human being. Addiction is an illness, and a hard/impossible one to cure at that.

built for blame, laced with shame is one of my favorite albums from get scared. it made me realize a lot of things and how i was treated horribly. though i know joel sung all the songs in this album, it still helps me. as much as i love joel's vocals, the fact he was arrested for child pornography related charges, it really hurt. i was very late to this party but i still love get scared. the band got me into rock and other subgenres and it helped me so much in expressing my emotions. you can love the artist's work and not the actual artist themselves. that's why the saying, "separate art from the artist(s)" exists. the only exceptions are if the art is also as problematic like the artist.
Yeah. I wasn’t to happy about what he did either. And the good thing is you can still listen to the album and he won’t get money off of it.
Not to even mention how much the talent here is even from Joel. I'd say it seems Johnny has always been the tape holding things together and putting the talent where it needs to be. Even if a lot of the tracks' lyrics do come mostly from Joel.
I know I should separate the art from the artist but man everytime I listen to this and I hear the children's laughter at the start YIKES I can never listen to this song normally without thinking of what joel did😔

i've always been a Get Scared fan/ Joel Faviere fan separately... when he joined GS I was thrilled. I had seen Joel on two tours before he was with GS.... come the GS tour, he remembered my name, asked me to stay side stage, and invited me in the back area to join a smoke with him -- I was 14 the time - then he started to ask me how long I could stay. "One of my vocalists... choosing ME?" I was ecstatic. Luckily my parents were over-protective, and came to pick me up from the venue, despite me asking to stay later.
and honestly thank god for that. I have no idea what would've happened to me or my body that night.

From the ages of Late 11 or early 12 y/o and forward, I related to this song. It was, no, is my life. Every word, every emotion, every sound, every visual. All a reflection of myself. At some point I lost the song due to my devices changing twice and a whole factory reset.. At a huge birthday party 2 days ago, I remembered this song but couldn’t remember the band or song name. Only “Took the Blame, felt the shame” and a image of flies on a white surface as any context clue of what it was. After YEARS, I finally found the song once again.🩶
