Though it's been a few years since Joel got arrested it's so ass knowing that he was secretly a piece of shit for so long. I feel so bad for any of the people he's hurt I'm glad he can't profit off of any of Get Scared's music anymore

@@mr_3xtinct38 yeah it really sucks. i dont find any issues listening to the music cause it's music. I won't judge it based on him, especially considering this album was made years before the incident. Also, he didn't write all the lyrics, so it was a team effort. I also believe that liking music does not equal liking the people who make it. You don't have to like the artist to like their music.

i've always been a Get Scared fan/ Joel Faviere fan separately... when he joined GS I was thrilled. I had seen Joel on two tours before he was with GS.... come the GS tour, he remembered my name, asked me to stay side stage, and invited me in the back area to join a smoke with him -- I was 14 the time - then he started to ask me how long I could stay. "One of my vocalists... choosing ME?" I was ecstatic. Luckily my parents were over-protective, and came to pick me up from the venue, despite me asking to stay later.
and honestly thank god for that. I have no idea what would've happened to me or my body that night.
I doubt he would do something to an actual child, though I was surprised when I found out he did what he did. That was good on your parents though. (I understand that what he did was bad, but a lot of people don’t seem to realize that Joel had severe mental health issues, and possibly some form of trauma that made him the way he is, and it’s bothering me a lot. People are quick to jump on the “pedo” “sick minded” trains when they don’t even know what HIS whole story was. There’s a reason most people like that get that way, and it’s usually trauma/the way they were raised. It doesn’t make it right, but it’s still there.)
@@KasunaInsanity it’s one thing to have those thoughts, but it’s another to also have the type of photos & videos he had, especially to the severity that they were. Take it from survivors like myself. Should he get help for it? Absolutely. But chances are he can’t be rehabilitated

@@KasunaInsanity while i think that anyone who's into kids usually are mentally ill to some extent, people calling joel "sick-minded" or "pedo" in spite of whatever may be underlying trauma/explanation for his behaviours isn't wrong (like, he *is* a pedo if he's sexualizing kids). also, he's not mentally compromised to the point where he isn't aware what he's doing is awful, or to the point where he can't seek help (he might be a victim of whatever mental disorder/trauma he has, but he's still responsible over his ownself and his thoughts. ppl can't control what they think, but they can certainly control what they do with them- he should've seeked help, but instead, he chose to seek out a collection of photos). like joel doesn't have to fix himself since that's out of his capabilities, but it's certainly his responsibility to try and find someone to do so, especially since pedophilia always has a victim, which is the kid he's sexualizing. he perhaps didn't touch children, but he's acted on his thoughts through collecting photos and just. using them. it's just. if he had pedophilic thoughts, it's usually not a choice, so if he immediately got help, i'd probably feel bad for him to some extent for involuntarily having such desires. but he chose to instead act on them through feeding them with photos and it's just :/
like there are some things that i feel like while yes, are explainable and usually spawn from sad cases, they're just too morally apprehensible to deserve explanations. to me, pedophilia is one of them, so i kinda don't care if ppl shit on him without deeper research. like i do think there should be unsympathetic understanding of joel, since it's important to know how pedophilic desires start so we don't have anymore cases of this, as well as stop trauma that could cycle back into the victim becoming an abuser. but his actions were choices of a mind who knew right from wrong, and because of that, i just can't find it in myself to care if he had underlying issues. i can sympathize with the version of himself that went through it before he's collected CP, but I don't bother extending that consideration to the man he became after that.

You guys rock. Joel used to be such a comfort to me back in the day. I was obsessed with GS through two singers, and Joels solo stuff. Horrified about what he's done, esp since I'm a victim of CSA myself. It still fucking hurts after all this time, gutting to ditch all the comfort and memories, as if that time of my life never existed. Can't even look back on it nostalgically, he groomed us all I guess. It sucks that he had to be like that and couldn't just fucking behave, I imagine what could have been. Glad that he does not profit from Get Scared anymore, but I still can't bring myself to listen.
I will admit that Joel does have a certain way of putting that perfect hook into this song.

Joel's voice is so unique and infectious. He really brings out the best in Get Scared: the theatrics and the darkness and the AWESOME. I loved Nick's music too but Joel brings something completely new to the table.
I keep imagining Nick's voice with this song. It's hard to listen to without getting sad, but it's good.
Thankfully nick came back into the band after this album was over and was the singer once again from then on.

Ok, so Joel used to sing for this band (Get Scared), and Nick is the current lead singer
Grace Monte Actually Nick was the original vocalist, he left in 2011 to pursue other things in his music career, Joel joined afterward and they released this EP: Built For Blame, Laced With Shame and then he left. Then Nick came back and he has been singing for them since.

When Nick left, I was feeling abandoned. I remember an interview saying something like he was uninterested in the kind of music gs makes. And then Joel comes into the picture and his whole album blew me away! It was amazing! Every song had a meaning that Nick's didn't. I will forever be a Joel Faviere Fan. :)

I loved Get Scared so much and when Nick left I was so worried, beat down, and broken and I didn't think you guys would stay together or that you would find a singer who's just as amazing. Then I listened to this and the fact that Joel has SUCH an AMAZING voice and the fact that the song if PHENOMENAL just made me so happy. :'D

I think this is a great improvement from the old band. I remember when Nick left, I knew it would be hard to let go because he had a unique sound to his voice. I thought the band would never compare to the way it was. But hell was I wrong. This is 10x better! Joel's voice is gorgeous and so much more unique. The music runs more smoothly and is so catchy and addictive. :D
