Hey James, well I've been a long time subscriber to your vids, they've certainly helped me out. It's because of all your tips and tricks that I was able to clench the Varsity spot for my High School Inline team this season. But I'm probably sure that you're aware of this, but at your height (I realize it's dependent upon ankle to knee size) you should probably think about getting 34 or 35's. I just recently got a set of the Mission Revolt pads as 36 and they're almost perfect. (I'm 5'11")
Many of these skills can DEFINITELY be used in Ice Hockey. The only difference would be your footwork and the ability to slide post to post. Other than that, any seals, VH setup, screen techniques, glove techniques, etc. definitely apply as well.
The plastic you see us UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene), if emailed I can send you the link to a website forum where they are discussed and you can make yourself. I took the chassis and cowling from a G7 for my current setup but preferred the RBK boot with pump, I'm sure the skate is fine, and the 4 wheel setup is lighter (and cheaper as less wheels to maintain)
Hi, All you're videos are very interesting and I learned a lot. Question regarding you're equipment. I have seen that on your pads you put a kind of white plastic plate. We have a very abrasive floor and I put some "adhesive ruban" but it's not perfect. I would to know what is the name of the plate that you have (what is the name in English of this plastic) and how do you stick this to your pads (sew or something else?). Last question, I would like to buy Mission G7 goalie skate:any comments
Those are pretty big pads for your height. The system for determining size of pads these days is using your ATK measurements. To obtain your ATK (ankle-to-knee) measurement, begin bare- or sock-footed. Sit down, and bend your knee forward slightly. With a tape measure, measure from the center of your inside ankle bone to the front center of your knee cap, wrapping around a little. That's your ATK. I can send you a database of ATKs for different pads. To keep it basic, I am 5'11", I wear 33+2
you mean get your pads to rotate when you attempt a butterfly save? if yes, there can be many reasons for that, it will be a combination of the type of pad you have, how tight you tie them to your leg and / or skate, what knee protection you wear, their size etc. best to solve in person, next best would be a video that I can watch to assist.
I played my first inline game last weekend and found it real difficult to butterfly, the pads i used were 36s, and im 5'9. The pads kept touching and it was impossible to drop to my knees, are the pads too big?
I realize that I am not James Tanner, but the pads are older pads made by Pete Smith. Today, you can get the equivalence by getting the Warrior Ritual pads which were designed by Pete Smith himself and were basically modeled after the pads shown in the video.
@Us3rname404 My website will be live in around 2 weeks with details of dates and ways to sign up. Plans for camps are initially in the UK (Sheffield, Midlands and in the South before the end of the summer) and Hong Kong, but if there is demand will be looking to travel to Europe and North America.
I look forward to these videos every day. after every video i try out what ever it is and it almost always helps
You have good leg movement and this video is certainly very helpful. My only critique is that when you're going down your hands go with you.

I don't find your website. I'm interested about your camps if you do some in August =)
how did u make that building thing tell me how and where did u get the pads

Simply type "ATK pads" in google, first result explains ATK and so help you with pad sizing in future.
you mention your camps. when and where are these camps??
I can't do a butterfly I do not know if it us my skates becouse they are not made for hockey please answer

Which pads
they have foam in them clearly, typical for your modern day pad, these are effectively Warrior Rituals
