    Very interesting vlog.
Lets say in 10/20/30 etc etc years time we are all in electric cars.
Were the hell are people supposed to leave their caravans while charging their cars.???
Not seen a bay big enough to allocate both.!!
Or would you have to unhitch and leave your caravan somewhere and then go back to charge your car.??

Electric vehicles are not going to replace fossil fuel vehicles when it comes to towing, yes people are going to give it a try but in the long term they will be a big no no. imo?

    • @fortnitefred1351
      @fortnitefred1351 Місяць тому

They are not fossil fuels. In 1892 Roca fella paid scientists, to say that they were fossil fuels. To make out the scarcity of it so that they could charge more. Research further.

Why do you think it's a 'long-term no'? EVs are still in their infancy, and we've only recently reached a point where they offer practical range without significant compromises for most users. As technology advances, range will improve, and charging limitations will diminish. Once these issues are resolved, towing caravans and trailers with EVs will become much more feasible.

@@rm55555 sorry that’s not going to happen anytime soon so while your hanging around with your head in the sand waiting for the magic cure I’m sticking to fossil fuels 😉

Good video. Another problem is the price. To tow the caravan you need enough power and battery capacety. And this combination is at the moment (for me) too expensive. And for my daily drives i dont need such a powerfull car. At the moment i have a Diesel with 136 hp. Strong enough to tow my small caravan, but not too strong and big for the daily use.

90% of the time with EV you have to unhitch the caravan which also.presents a security risk. A trip to Southern France took 3 days longer to arrive on site due to needing to charge 3 times as often than I'd stop for fuel.
Having to charge just to make sure there would be no issues in rural areas.
    Range becomes almost intolerable.

I think the lack of the infrastructure needed for evs tells us the true intentions of future transport. Either "they" intend to use alternative technology (hydrogen or a different fuel) or they simply want far less of us on the road.

Caravan manufacturers need to adapt their product to the towing vehicles available. They clearly can otherwise we wouldn’t have such large 8ft wide 1800Kg vans if it wasn’t for the growth of the bigger SUV’s/Trucks etc. And likewise, caravan buyers need to adapt their hobby to fit with the available products and services. It’s not the end of caravanning , it’s just a change of approach and direction.

Speed of energy transfer with fossil fuels (filling up) just cannot be beaten with batteries. One answer could be standard transferable battery packs, like a drill.

Just returned from Pembrokeshire towed with Kia EV6 fully electric, stops overnight CMHC in order to get round M25 from Kent (have always done this). Charged at Leigh Delamere walked dog fetched Coffee (charged before we had finished coffee) on to Swansea West same easy charge about 20mins stayed about 40mins. Pitched up near Milford Haven about 60miles left in battery after setting up. Journey home site to Cardiff West easy charge on to Clievely easy charge stayed about 40 mins so had to move off charger (needed a good break) then home. When I say easy charge I mean availability of charge points we do have to unhitch to charge at all but Leigh Del where we managed to pull up alongside Charge point all motorway chargers Gridserve and busy charging but always one or two available. Will improve in time as long bays become available, we dis stop at Cobham services for Coffee on way down but did not charge there this services has the long bays. Car, with SG so low down tows like a dream, and with one pedal driving so relaxing on Motorways its only idiots who like to cut-in in front that cause issues as they do to lorry drivers. Is it good to tow with an EV yes, is it convenient to charge no unhitching is a pain is it worth it for the grand childrens future yes. Keep the vids up.

Please stop spreading misinformation about electric vehicles.
I tow a 1800kg caravan, with an all electric vehicle.
Range is easily 140+ miles. Stop to charge between 20%-80% roughly 20 minutes, which is around the time it takes to get a coffee and have a wee. Never had to wait for a charger other than once, about a year ago, for exactly 4 minutes. The number of chargers now has massively increased and there’s always several spare.
    It’s a completely imaginary issue!

This guy looks stressed out of his mind. The way to know is how he reacts to having time away from the caravan business like a long holiday. I reckon he would just want to be back at it with his caravan business. He looks like he has caravans on the brain. My mum is like this in her job as a teacher. I hope he can turn it off when he gets to retirement age.
