Sure. Step 1: create a youtube channel. Step 2: put yourself in front of the camera even though you’re not remotely comfortable doing so. Step 3: spend about 4 hours filming the talking bits of the video because (as before stated) you’re not comfortable and therefore making a million mistakes. Step 4: check the footage only to discover that your camera has been in “Timelapse” mode the whole time making it all useless. Step 5: get super frustrated and rather than taking the L, go back and record the whole script in about 5 minutes. (It doesn’t matter as all of your previous videos only had double digit views at this point.) ;-) Thanks for watching! I think I did improve as I made more videos. Hoping to start posting again soon, so please subscribe.
Your skills are immeasurable, and on top of that your presentation is pure class. This was a great watch and I'll definitely watch it again when I need to be inspired. Thank you for this.
XiXora Thank you so much for the positive comment! I’m really enjoying making this content. I’m still a bit of a beginner at the editing software so hopefully my content with continue to improve! Thank you for your support!!!
As a result of following your videos I find myself paying way more attention to the sounds used in movies...never really thought about those sounds or where they might have come from before this...thanks for opening my eyes and ears
William Farnsworth Great to hear! We’re all visual creatures so it’s definitely easy to overlook the sound part of motion picture content. Thanks for watching!!!
@@Koboto I didn't get into the modular world yet...but I got an 0-Coast on the way to me. The Telharmonic is very appealing to me and so is the Mimeophon. Those would be modules I'd consider adding.
Dude I love your positive vibes. Refreshing to see enthusiasm like this. Your studio is freaking epic, and you legitimately gave me new insight into making stuff with that certain NIN sound. Home run on all fronts.
This makes me wanna go make a score music but idk shit about music😭. Nice video mean do some more of these. Choose one song from "The social network" or "Gone girl". 🙏
really good, thank you ! I would love to see a tutorial on how to get started with modular synths (the Make Noise would be great escpecially), your sounds are awesome !
Hey. Thanks so much for watching!! I did a video about my MakeNoise Shared System. Here’s a link if you wanna have a look. ua-cam.com/video/L4ME43mo908/v-deo.html Thanks again for checking out my channel! Move videos soon. :-)
Great stuff man! Love the ”chorus” with the piano. Those solid chords with the piano really distinguish the verse and the chorus even though the loop is roughly the same throughout the bit.
@@Koboto Is it too late to ask exactly what's going on in the Pressure Points patch? I get that the Pressure Points is triggering Maths which in turn is triggering the Optomix but what's the sound source and how are the changes in pitch/ timbre achieved? (I suspect it's a very simple answer but I've never used the Pressure Points so apologies if it seems like a stupid question!)
@james_44 it’s been a while so I don’t remember exactly. I was def using the touch gate to trigger the envelope. The sound source seems to be the teleharmonic which was being modulated from that top row knobs on the pressure points. This gave the variations with the different pads. It also looks like I was controlling the decay time on the maths with my other hand.
Thanks for commenting! I was thinking of doing a Video about a the launch Sequence Cue from Interstellar. Do you have any other suggestions of places where synth sounds were epically used in movie music?
@@Koboto Thank you for making such cool videos! I love the music of Trent Reznor and now I have to try how I can make a Reznor like bass with my Mono Station :-)
I recently discovered your channel and love it! You have a really cool style, the videos are very informative and well done and holy damn, it sounds good, too!
Wow. Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m still trying to figure out wtf I’m doing here on UA-cam so I really appreciate the support! More videos soon! :-)
Hahahaha...No drugs were used in the making of this video...Just good old fashioned inexperience on my part. I’ll work on it for the next video. :). Thanks so much for watching!
Honestly...I'd start in the box. Get Logic or Cubase and Start learning the native VST synths that come with it. Modular is like a drug. I've honestly stopped myself from buying more and instead just focused on getting the most out of what I have. That being said....MOOG is the king of bass imo. I did a bass comparison video on my Channel a while back if you're interested. Thanks for watching!
@@Koboto trent reznors early works are really personal for me as i feel so much relatble lyrics. And ur mesmerised look amplifies it. Dude if u keep the look it might be the icon of ur channel. Good work btw
Hey. Thanks for watching! The Piano was the Unachorda VST from Native Instruments. I think I may have put some of the “reverse” effect on there and maybe some noise. I almost always use native instruments reverbs as well.
hahaha. Yeah, that's a common critique on this one. I actually recorded the whole video and then realized my camera was in Time-lapse mode... So I just hit record and burned through the whole thing again...I was in a rush so...that comes through for sure. haha. Thanks for watching!
Hey man, very cool stuff. Listen, I need some music for my film and I was wondering if you would be interested to collaborate. Let me know how I can get in touch with you
Probabaly. Yeah, I’ve had a bunch of folks comment about that in this video. I see it. :-) I actually took a few hours filming all the talking parts of that video until late in the evening. After I was finished I realized that my camera was set in “time lapse” mode the whole time so it was all ruined. I was super frustrated...but I wanted to get the video out so I just set up the camera again and shot all the dialog in like 15 minutes. Hence the coked-up/insomniac persona. It’s honestly one of my more popular videos so maybe I should go back to that. Hahaha. Thanks so much for watching! :-)
Please do more videos like this. This is really interesting and really informative. Makes me wanna mess around on my synths to try to recreate some of these sounds
Love the tutorial, but you look depressed or sad. Get some sleep🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽. Great video tho. I wonder if some of these sounds are capable of being made on my system 8 or rev 2

Came for the discussion. Stayed because my soul has been stolen and I don’t know where to go from here.
How Reznor/Ross compose for film: Hold down key on keyboard to make drone sound. Add piano. Oscar please.
Their use of modulated room reverb, esp on Hesitation Marks, gives their stuff such a unique sound. Thanks for the great tutorial!
